About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly team and use your fundraising experience to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable children and families. As Fundraising Manager, your role will focus on developing relationships and generating income from charitable trusts, statutory sources, individuals, schools and parishes. 

This is a diverse and rewarding role where you can work closely with our project teams and see the direct impact of your efforts. The fundraising team is also actively involved in service delivery.  This role will be instrumental in helping to distribute gifts and food to hundreds of disadvantaged families at Christmas, as well as helping families in crisis by assessing Crisis Fund applications and approving grants.

As a proactive and creative fundraiser, you will also help to shape the department’s overall fundraising strategy and play an important role in ensuring that many more disadvantaged children and families can access the support they need and have hope of a better future. 

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone with strong fundraising experience who is keen to use their skills to help CCS grow our income. A proactive and flexible approach is also a must! The successful candidate will have:

• At least four years’ experience or working as a charity fundraiser
• A proven track record of personally securing income in excess of £200,000 p.a.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships with colleagues and supporters.

About the Role 

As Individual Giving Officer (Retention), you’ll sit at the heart of how Help for Heroes builds long-term, sustainable income. You’ll lead the delivery of multi-channel retention campaigns and fundraising appeals that strengthen supporter relationships, increase lifetime value and ensure our supporters feel valued, informed and inspired to continue their support. 

You’ll own retention activity across cash giving, lottery and regular giving - shaping campaigns from idea through to delivery, optimisation and evaluation. Using insight and performance data to continually refine supporter journeys, test new approaches and ensure every communication adds value to the supporter experience. 

Working closely with the Individual Giving Officer (Acquisition), you’ll help create a seamless journey from first gift to long-term loyalty. You’ll collaborate with colleagues and external agencies to deliver high-quality, compliant campaigns that reflect the experiences of veterans and their families. 

This role offers real autonomy, variety and influence, with your work directly contributing to a strong, engaged supporter base and long-term income growth.

You care deeply about the supporter experience and understand that retention is built on trust, relevance and emotional connection.

This is an exciting and varied role will be providing a key role in developing and increasing income, donor acquisition and engagement across SSCH’s Individual Giving fundraising programme, including legacies. The post will work to maximise potential and develop both new and existing donors, through targeted donor development campaigns, supporter acquisition and retention programmes.

The post holder will work flexibly across the Individual Giving income streams including individual donations, campaigns, gifts in memory and legacies. As part of this, a key responsibility will be the relationship management and support to any of our supported families who choose to fundraise for SSCH. This role will also support with legacy administration.

This role will combine a targeted driven approach with excellent donor care and relationship management helping to drive growth and income.

About you

The successful applicant will have demonstrable experience within a fundraising or comparable role. Ideally the candidate will have some legacy administration experience.

You will also have an ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of the wider fundraising team to ensure success of income growth.

The Role

The Web and Email Manager will lead our digital presence across web, email, SEO, and paid search, crafting engaging campaigns that resonate with 18-24 year olds and inspire them to take action.

You’ll sit within the Marketing department, report to the Head of Content, and line manage the Digital Marketing Executive. You’ll work closely with the Digital Fundraising Manager, Social Media Manager, Content Manager, and Marketing Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and optimise innovative multi-channel digital strategies (across website, paid search, SEO, and email) that drive online visibility and performance.

• Manage the implementation of these strategies across our main digital channels, making sure all user journeys are integrated, effective, and aligned with CoppaFeel!’s objectives.

• Manage the relationship with our external web agency, and oversee the development and maintenance of the website and Self-Checkout tool, in collaboration with the Education team.

• Lead on our Paid Search and SEO strategy, including managing the relationship with our media agency, making recommendations for keyword changes and improvements, and reporting on our rank positioning and strategies for improvement.

• Lead on our website maintenance, with support of our external web agency, ensuring that the website is secure and remains live.

• Manage the organisation’s digital marketing budget, ensuring this is appropriately applied

• Line manage the Digital Marketing Executive, responsible for their development and impact.

• Develop and deliver engaging email campaigns, including automated workflows and well-designed email templates, to drive audience engagement and conversion.

• Create and optimise landing pages and new web content, informed by SEO research and best practices, to enhance visibility, user experience, and performance across digital channels.

• Develop and deliver engaging acquisition campaigns to grow our audience.

• Make sure web and email content adheres to brand guidelines and tone of voice.

• Produce rigorous monthly reporting of digital channels, identifying learnings and recommendations to implement to constantly evolve and optimise channels (including The Self-Checkout tool).

• Lead on accessibility of the website and The Self-Checkout tool.

• Act as the Marketing team’s lead for the CRM (Beacon), optimising how it connects with the website and email systems to enhance audience segmentation, personalisation, and campaign performance.

• Work collaboratively with the Social Media Manager, Content Manager, Senior Events Manager and Marketing Manager to create a holistic marketing activity calendar.

• Support on wider organisational projects to make digital activities as efficient as possible.

• Stay informed of market leading innovations and AI to ensure our work is forward thinking.

• Ensure rigorous reporting and analysis of digital activity to ensure delivery of planned KPIs, with an ambition to be constantly improving and evolving.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Essential

• Minimum 3 years experience working in a marketing/brand communications role.

• Demonstrable experience of implementing digital marketing strategies.

• An understanding of CoppaFeel!’s 18-24 year old target audience and digital platforms to reach them.

• Excellent understanding of the ever changing digital landscape, and how tools/AI can help enhance our work.

• Clear understanding of audience insight, including experience targeting and tailoring campaigns and communications to CoppaFeel!’s 18-24 year old target audience.

• Knowledge of WordPress (or other CMS), Canva, MailChimp, and other relevant digital marketing tools.

• Experience of creating compelling digital content.

• Adept at project management and working to campaign timelines and budgets.

• Agency and budget management experience.

• Experienced in tracking and reporting on campaign success against KPIs and ROI.

Desirable

• Knowledge of the challenges / limitations of working in the charity sector.

• Lead and deliver integrated Legacy and In Memory campaigns across channels (paid media, direct mail, events), ensuring brand alignment and sensitivity.

• Develop and implement acquisition and stewardship strategies to drive cost-effective lead generation, donor conversion, and long-term engagement.

• Collaborate with marketing, fundraising, and trading teams to align on priorities, supporter journeys, messaging, and campaign calendars. 

• Plan and deliver intimate supporter events (e.g. remembrance gatherings, legacy briefings) in partnership with the NMA, RAF Stations, and engagement teams.

• Manage day-to-day relationships with agencies and suppliers to maximise campaign impact and ROI.

• Work with the Customer Engagement Team to enhance supporter experiences, particularly for legacy pledgers.

• Align Legacy and In Memory marketing with broader organisational communications, fundraising, and service delivery.

• Drive innovation by testing new approaches and tools to improve campaign performance and supporter engagement. 

About You 

We need you to have a proven track record in delivering successful campaigns and appeals in a professional fundraising, marketing or communications role. With an understanding of audience segmentation and supporter journeys, you will have the ability to translate the Associations work into engaging supporter communications. Up to date computer literacy is essential for this role as you will need experience of using CRM systems (we use Salesforce) for supporter management, analysis and reporting.If you are creative, proactive results-driven individual we would love to hear about what you can bring to the role!

Direct Marketing Acquisition Manager (Direct Response)

You will develop and oversee a specialist area of direct response marketing, taking responsibility for paid media activity resulting in giving and prize-led support, and the associated programme and products. You will ensure the highest standard of quality and compliance, across a diverse programme mix. You’ll manage significant income and expenditure budgets and deliver exceptional fundraising campaigns to drive an ambitious growth plan, accelerating progress towards a cure.

Collaborating with different teams across the charity, you’ll be planning, managing and delivering the direct marketing programme across a range of media including digital, TV, telephone, and print. Activities in the acquisition portfolio are diverse; from delivering an established, successful core programme to playing an important role in exciting cross-organisational projects.

You’ll work with a team of three across a range of channels, media and projects at the charity; speaking to range of audiences with one theme in common – compelling people to stand with us for a cure.

Key Responsibilities:

Programme and campaign management

· Lead the development and delivery of the direct marketing acquisition programme and strategy, with a particular focus on the direct response elements.

· To be responsible for reviewing and developing our Weekly Lottery Strategy to maximize income.

· Oversee the delivery of the direct response acquisition campaigns; ensuring they are in market on time, on budget and on brand.

· Deliver consistent, structured testing to ensure continuous improvement. Where appropriate and worthwhile, ensure testing is applied to all activity and reviewed with recommendations acted upon.

· Involvement in charity-wide projects and groups; putting supporters at the heart of what we do, as well as playing a key role in the delivery of our Fundraising & Marketing Strategy.

· Management of all key acquisition suppliers including routine reviews, briefing, optimisation and general relationship management.

· Annual planning of acquisition direct marketing; including input to operational planning and development of relevant marketing plans.

· Ensure the campaign planning and delivery cycle is adhered to across the team, and all stakeholders are well managed.

· Ensure routine end of campaign reviews and analysis (with suppliers as well as your own), with proactive adaptation of plans to optimise results.

· Ensure contingency plans and activities are in place to close any expected income gaps.

People management

· Management and development of a team of three, with two direct reports.

· Empowering team members to succeed and grow with clear, SMART goals and development plans in place.

· Complete routine 1-1 meetings and annual appraisals with direct reports.

· Developing a high performing team who work collaboratively across the charity.

· Agency relationship management across a variety of partners and suppliers, from building relationships and negotiating, to contract and routine performance reviews.

· Working closely with the Supporter Care and Data teams to ensure the acquisition activity and processes are well understood and that they can support the team as best possible.

Budget management and reporting

· Annual budgeting of direct marketing programmes and campaigns.

· Regular forecasting in line with the annual cycle, making recommendations around budget allocation and managing expectations throughout.

· KPI tracking, trend analysis and interrogation of results at all levels.

· Regular financial performance reporting.

· Programme optimisation to ensure contribution targets are met and contingency planning as required.

· Detailed reporting geared towards a longer-term view of performance, covering long-term & ROI modelling, lifetime value and considering supporter experience and engagement.

What we are looking for:

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Email marketing

· Create high-quality, timely and inspiring emails for HI UK’s donors and supporters every week, to increase income and engagement.

· Develop and launch multichannel emergency fundraising appeals at short notice to maximise fundraising income and supporter awareness.

· Develop and maintain email marketing automation programmes to improve supporter experience.

Paid media

· Work with our digital agency to optimise the ROI of our Search Engine Advertising (SEA) on Google and Bing.

· Develop and test new Social Media Advertising campaigns to support fundraising objectives.

· Develop and test new paid media activities to enhance fundraising campaigns.

Content creation and website

Job Purpose 

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Individual Giving and Legacy Team at Alder Hey Children’s Charity. The role will oversee the development and administration of the individual giving portfolio at the charity and work closely with the Individual Giving Manger to plan and implement a strategy for growth and exceptional supporter engagement.

Main Duties/ Tasks 

Income Generation & Stewardship  

Work alongside the Individual Giving Manager and Head of Community Fundraising to produce and execute an effective and sustainable individual giving plan. 

Create and implement effective donor journeys to maximise the engagement and retention of supporters. 

Identify potential new individual giving audiences and implement acquisition strategies in order to grow the individual giving database. 

Work across the organisation to champion individual giving and to implement excellent supporter care. 

Work alongside the Individual Giving Manager to manage budgets including forecasting and tracking and making sure costs remain low for maximum return on investment. 

Identify opportunities for colleagues in fundraising and throughout the hospital and pass these on as appropriate. 

Ensure fundraising remains within legal constraints and pays attention to safeguarding requirements.

Project Management

Data Management & Reporting   

Manage the selection and segmentation of individual giving data for campaign purposes.  

Oversee the timely importing and exporting of donor data to ensure that supporter records are up to date. 

Use campaign data to report on effectiveness of activity and inform decision making and future planning.  

Ensure all individual giving activity complies with the appropriate regulation and legislation and delivers an excellent experience for supporters.
