This is a role for someone who knows how to make campaigns land. As an Acquisition Officer in the TV team, you’ll be right at the point where creative ideas turn into real income planning and delivering mass fundraising activity that reaches new supporters and brings them into long-term journeys with the Royal British Legion. What you will do
In this role, you will:
- Provide strong leadership and people management to the finance team, supporting, coaching and developing staff to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Oversee the production and review of monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting to budget holders.
- Lead on budget setting and forecasting, working closely with managers across the organisation.

Supporter Acquisition & Development Manager

Role purpose
This is a critical, income-generating role responsible for growing Perennial’s Individual Giving programme and increasing unrestricted income, with a primary focus on supporter acquisition and on supporter development and retention.
This role translates strategy into delivery by converting audiences into supporters, and supporters into income, so our Services team can provide meaningful impact in people’s lives and income into meaningful impact.
You will own and deliver acquisition income targets, and working with our Marketing team lead on the development of audience-led, multi-channel campaigns that attract, convert and retain supporters.
This is an opportunity to build and scale Perennial’s Individual Giving programme from an early stage, shaping propositions, channels and supporter journeys to drive sustainable growth.
Working closely with our marketing and digital teams, you will turn awareness of Perennial into measurable income and long-term supporter value.
Key responsibilities
1. Acquisition strategy, income ownership & growth
· Develop and deliver a data-led Individual Giving acquisition strategy, aligned to organisational income goals
· Own and deliver annual acquisition income targets, with clear accountability for ROI and performance
· Plan and work with our Marketing and Digital teams to deliver integrated, multi-channel campaigns, leading on the who and the why

Summary
We’re looking for a Product Manager to join our ambitious Individual Giving team on a permanent full-time basis. As we continue to grow and optimise our programme, this role will help deliver outstanding supporter experiences and sustainable income growth.
Reporting to the Head of Individual Giving, you’ll manage and develop key products including Adopt a Plot and Plant a Tree, ensuring strong supporter engagement, financial performance and long-term value.
You’ll have experience developing Individual Giving products and creating audience-focused supporter journeys across acquisition, stewardship, retention and renewal. Using donor insight, data and performance analysis, you’ll identify opportunities to improve engagement, maximise lifetime value and drive continuous improvement.
Comfortable working in an agile environment, you’ll take a test-and-learn approach to optimise ROI, net income and long-term growth. You’ll also be confident managing budgets, forecasts and targets, balancing short-term priorities with sustainable performance.

What it's like to work here
You’ll be working in a newly formed team with the Head of Individual Giving – contributing to building on the success of the current programme, whilst highlighting opportunities to grow and develop ensuring we reach our exciting fundraising goals.
As this is a national role, there is flexibility on your contractual place of work. Our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust places. We’ll talk about this in more detail at interview, but you should expect to be at a National Trust site for 40–60% of your working week.
What you'll be doing
As one of our Product Managers, you'll use data and insight to evaluate performance, identifying opportunities to improve engagement, retention, stewardship and income, while regularly reporting progress to the Head of Individual Giving. You'll manage and optimise Individual Giving products and campaigns end-to-end, ensuring marketing activity delivers an excellent donor experience and a strong return on investment. You'll develop effective fundraising journeys and create more personalised communications based on donor giving levels and preferences to strengthen retention and engagement. You'll also spot new opportunities and emerging trends across the sector, bringing valuable learnings into your role to drive continuous improvement. The Role
With support from the Head of Supporter Engagement and the Supporter Engagement Officer, you would develop and deliver the annual Individual Giving programme including acquisition and retention activities.
Manage the Door-to-Door Supporter recruitment campaign and the external F2F agency relationship.
Take responsibility for growing the Lotteries programme through a rolling programme of promotions to existing and potential Supporters.
Lead on digital campaigns to recruit and retain new supporters.
With support, produce annual Individual Giving budgets and monitor performance against agreed targets on a rolling basis.
Line manage the Supporter Engagement Officer, who oversees primarily challenge events activities.
The Candidate
Demonstrable experience of successfully managing Individual Giving and Supporter stewardship programmes and budgets.
Demonstrable experience of developing and delivering digital campaigns.
Experience of developing supporter segmentation strategies and working with a CRM.

Recruitment Delivery and Coordination with HR Managers
- Ensuring adherence to best practice recruitment and EDI policies and principles, operate as a strategic partner to the business, providing best practice advice and guidance on recruitment and selection.
- Lead end to end recruitment for your allocated roles, working closely with hiring managers to understand their needs and design fair, ensuring inclusive and efficient selection processes.

Remuneration

You will use your commercial focus and expertise to drive best practices in our projects, managing various aspects of spending from RfQs for tail-end to tendering on our eProcurement portal for large project procurements. This role focuses on maximising long-term value through innovative and impactful multichannel campaigns including reactivating lapsed supporters, optimising supporter conversion and delivering engaging onboarding experiences. The Individual Giving Manager will work on growing regular giving, cash and gaming pipelines and manage exciting projects which could include digital, DRTV, face-to- face, telemarketing, direct mail and radio. The role will provide assistance to the Head of Individual Giving with all retention activity, including cash appeals and newsletters.
Shaftesbury is happy to consider fundraisers or officer level candidates looking to step up into their first manager level role. At present this role doesn’t line manage, so management experience is not necessary. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an enthusiasm for fundraising, supporter journeys and creative thinking and may have experience within a UK based charity in either IG and legacies, community fundraising, corporate or philanthropy.

You will need to have demonstrable experience of delivering campaigns across individual giving products and channels, excellent written communication and analytical skills, and experience of creating engaging and inspiring online and offline direct marketing communications.
Key areas of responsibility
New Supporter Acquisition: Face to Face fundraising
The Senior Individual Giving Officer will lead our new acquisition channel, face to face fundraising, to recruit new regular givers:
- Responsible for the end-to-end management of acquisition campaigns, from briefing internal and external stakeholders and suppliers, to developing creative and monitoring results and evaluating performance
- Ensure campaigns are delivered on time and on budget and meet the campaign KPIs
- Work with the Individual Giving Manager and Digital Implementation Officer to share content to feed into the bespoke supporter journeys for new supporters to increase engagement
Mass Participation Events
The Senior Individual Giving Officer will lead our growing mass participation events programme. Building on the success of testing during 2026, learning will be applied to further expand the event programme during 2027 and beyond:
- Develop and manage the annual event calendar to ensure there is a broad range of events that are targeted towards EIA supporters
- Responsible for all elements of supporter recruitment and stewardship from developing marketing materials, working with the Social Media and Digital Engagement Manager and the Digital team to recruit new supporters, setting up fundraising pages and stewarding supporters to meet their fundraising targets, through to evaluating performance and applying learnings to future events.
Supporter retention, development, and engagement
The Senior Individual Giving Officer will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging and inspiring supporter development activity and supporter journeys for individuals:
- Lead on creating the content and briefing suppliers for the supporter newsletter mailings which are sent out three times a year.
- Plan, implement and evaluate digital and offline supporter-driven supporter journeys from all individual giving audiences, including appeals, face to face, mass digital, regular giving and the weekly lottery
- Work closely with the Individual Giving Manager, Supporter Services Officer and teams across the organisation (including the Communications and Campaign teams) to develop inspiring and targeted content and communications that increase engagement and lifetime value of supporters
- Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for monitoring and evaluating the success of supporter journeys
- Along with the Supporter Services Officer, be a key point of contact for supporters, ensuring that all supporters have a positive experience
Legacy Marketing and Stewardship
- Develop and deliver legacy marketing campaigns to acquire new legacy pledgers from our existing supporter base
- Take a key role in the engagement with the Remember a Charity consortium, and lead on the promotion of legacies during Remember a Charity Week
- Work with the Individual Giving Manager and the Communications team to ensure legacy messages are included in all relevant communications including appeals, supporter newsletters and Investigator magazine
- Responsible for all elements of legacy stewardship, from establishing engagement segmentation, to developing and delivering a legacy stewardship programme including bespoke communications, as well as on and offline events and webinars to maximise engagement and commitment from legacy pledgers
- Explore opportunities to recruit legacy pledgers from new audiences
Strategy development, budgeting and campaign reporting
- Work with the Head of Fundraising and Individual Giving Manager to develop fundraising strategy and annual plans
- Monitor income and expenditure of campaigns within your areas to ensure they meet budget and contribute to the mid-year reforecast process
- Produce regular campaign reports that monitor performance against KPIs and feed back to the Head of · of Fundraising and wider organisation to share successes with the EIA team

About the Role:
Reporting to the Head of Income Generation, you'll take ownership of our trusts and foundations fundraising programme, leading the development of a strong pipeline of funding opportunities that support our strategic priorities.
You'll work closely with colleagues across Operations, Finance, Marketing and senior leadership to develop high-quality bids, manage funder relationships and ensure successful grant management from application through to reporting.
This is a strategic role with significant opportunity to shape and grow an important area of fundraising, with responsibility for delivering an initial income target of approximately £100,000 in year one, alongside developing the foundations for long-term growth.

What We’re Looking For:
You'll be an experienced trusts fundraiser with a proven ability to secure significant grant income and build strong relationships with funders.
You'll also have:
· A successful track record of securing five and six-figure grants.
· Experience developing persuasive, high-quality funding applications.
· Knowledge of major grant funders, such as The National Lottery, Lloyds Bank Foundation and Garfield Weston Foundation.
· Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
· The ability to influence and collaborate across teams without direct line management responsibility.
· Strong project management and organisational skills.
· Experience managing grant reporting, budgets and funding compliance.
· Experience using a CRM system such as Salesforce (or similar).
Experience within the charity, health, social care or disability sectors would be advantageous, although we welcome applicants with transferable experience from other sectors.
