GFS is a feminist organisation with a mission to empower girls and young women in England and Wales to live their best lives. Girls as young as 6 tell us that they cannot be themselves. This causes problems for them and society. So, we offer an early intervention service for girls living in areas of deprivation to have the greatest impact.

This is an exciting role with an opportunity to lead the charity into the 150th Year of delivery and with a new strategy to address need. It will involve working with the leadership team and all departments but also the board and their support committees, the ambassadors, and presidents as well as the wonderful team of volunteers across England and Wales.

A great deal has been done to prepare the organisation for such an important time and so now there is a real opportunity for this role to lead in being a figurehead for the charity and representing all that is achieved at GFS in national events and discussions, to best represent the girls of today.

Our new strategy is built around pillars of Impact, Brand and Sustainability with an ambition to grow in delivery as well as reputation. GFS is aware that the work done to listen to and amplify girls’ voices is important because they have so much to say about what needs to change and from a very young age. This role will be key to making this happen.

The Royal Hospital Chelsea is the home of the Chelsea Pensioners. It has a rich history and provides supported accommodation, residential and nursing care for some 300 retired soldiers. An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Royal Hospital Chelsea where we are seeking an exceptional individual to join the Chelsea Pensioners Veterans’ Outreach  (CPVO ) team in a new role as a Veterans’ Outreach Officer. 

 The CPVO programme is aimed at extending an offer to older service veterans, inviting them to engage with our In Pensioners and enjoy the sense of community and comradeship that is at the heart of the Chelsea Pensioner community. While most of our programme activity is centred on the Royal Hospital Chelsea estate in London, the programme seeks to expand in reach to other UK regions where there is a sizeable veteran population who might benefit from engagement with our team of Chelsea Pensioners, staff and volunteers. There are also plans to develop a digital offer.

 The Veterans’ Outreach Officer will support  the Head of Veterans’ Outreach in developing and managing the programme of activities encouraging engagement and social interaction between Chelsea Pensioners and other service veterans thereby helping to alleviate the social isolation and loneliness felt by many older veterans. Responsibilities will include promoting the programme within veterans' networks and finding innovative ways to connect with veterans; the management of themed events both at the Royal Hospital Chelsea and further afield as we seek to expand nationwide. The role also involves significant data collection and analysis to inform the strategy, evaluate delivery, and identify fundraising opportunities.

What you’ll be doing …

Manage and administer the pilot project to develop a recognition arrangement (RA) framework for licensing Chartered Geologist (CGeol) status to professional bodies overseas, using the new framework to secure three RAs within the project period.

Overall responsibilities / requirements …

• Setup systems and processes to manage new licensing framework and chartership applications. 
• Setup systems and processes to manage quality control of applicants and assessments.

Support licensing application process

• Manage enquiries relating to licensing applications.
• Process applications for licensing including data entry and file management.
• Working with the Chartership Officer (CO) organise training for licensed organisation assessors.
• Support the CO to develop and manage the Society’s Chartership assessor’s training programme.
• Organise welcome packs & certificates and training materials.
• Ensure accurate record management and compliance with GDPR guidelines.

Provide effective support to Licensed organisations

• Ensure communications are handled in a prompt and professional manner.
• Ensure that Service delivery targets are maintained
• Ensure regular data collection from licensed organisations for their CGeol registrants.
• Organise invoicing and fee collections for licensing and associated fees.
• Organise periodic review of licensed organisations to ensure quality control.

Support Lead generation and promotional activities

• Working with the Head of Fellowship Services, develop and implement initiatives to promote and generate leads for potential partners for Licensing.
• Initiate and engage with potential partners for licensing.
• Working with the Head of Fellowship Services develop and maintain a licensed organisation engagement programme.
• Review and update web pages in relation to licensing.

Everyday millions of older and disabled people are denied the social care they need. Most local authorities can’t meet the growing demand for care, none are confident they can meet their legal duties in the future. This affects all of us, we will all need social care at some point.

About the role

This is an exciting time to join our organisation. We have a new strategy and are growing quickly including across our senior leadership team. We have nearly tripled in size and income since we started operating in April 2020 and we anticipate that this strong growth will continue for the duration of our next strategic period. This is a fast-paced role whose emphasis is on policy / process / systems improvement as well as advising colleagues and managers across the organisation regarding all aspects of the employee lifecycle. Caring Dads exists to change current practice to better include fathers in efforts to enhance the safety and well-being of their children. The practitioner will work directly with fathers with an aim to improve relationships with their children, families, and co-parents/carers. This will include promoting the service to a range of teams across Hampshire and Southampton, to generate programme referrals. You will work closely with Hampton Trust domestic abuse perpetrator service to identify client suitability for the Caring Dads programme.

Groups are delivered on weekday evenings; you will be required to deliver one group work sessions per week.

You will undertake treatment and risk assessments of individuals causing harm in their relationships; this includes active case/risk management of families living with domestic abuse. Although this position is based in Ashurst, you will be co-located into social work teams across Hampshire three days per week, with an aim to providing support and advice in identifying suitable families for the Caring Dads and ADAPT programme.

We have an opportunity to work for our Adult Carers Team as an Adult Carers Support Advisor. You will provide emotional and practical support to Adult Carers in the London Borough of Bromley, aligned and working closely with the integrated care networks.

• To offer emotional and practical support to build resilience for carers on a one-to one basis.
• To provide support face to face, over the phone and in group settings.
• To develop and run local support groups.
• To actively target those carers facing multiple issues, most likely to fall into crisis
• To support carers to access and where appropriate complete Carer’s Assessments
• To build and maintain a network of contacts with local service providers
• To organise and participate in training events for carers and professionals.
• To organise and participate in events for carers and or to raise awareness of carers needs, such as but not limited to Carers Week and Carers Rights Day
• To run an active caseload within the KPI requirements of the Bromley Well contract.
• To input cases on to the Charity log system accurately
• To ensure that services are accessible to carers.
• To participate in the provision of news and the production of the Carers newsletter
• To collaborate with other Bromley Well partners, including Mencap/MIND etc. to ensure effective appropriate referral pathways for quality service provision.
• To abide by and take part in the development and review of policy and procedure for the Carers pathway.
• At all times to maintain the professional integrity and reputation of the Charity and represent their main interests in any dealings with other bodies, groups and individuals.
• Attend staff meetings, supervision and organisational events as required.
• Collect case studies to help demonstrate AGE UK Bromley and Greenwich’s Adult Carers Support service’s impact.
• To undertake any other duties commensurate with the purpose and remit of the post.
• Undertake out of hours and weekend work as the role requires for which TOIL will be granted
