We are looking for a Fundraising Officer (Philanthropy) to join our exceptional, talented and successful fundraising team, all of whom have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for our mission to support young people achieve their ambitions.

We have a fantastic and diverse range of philanthropic supporters - from key individual donors through to local community foundations and major philanthropic trusts. As part of the philanthropy team, you will play a key and varied role in growing and stewarding these partnerships - ranging from taking responsibility for your own portfolio of philanthropic supporters through to contributing to funding bids, writing compelling reports, and managing supporter engagement.

We are a delivery organisation providing frontline educational services for young people. About the opportunity

The Training Officer will have a range of administrative responsibilities relating to Action Tutoring’s tutor training delivery and curriculum resources.

As Training Officer, you will support the Training Team by scheduling sessions in digital systems, organising and checking ID and DBS documents submitted by volunteer tutors, and responding to enquiries to support a smooth tutor journey. The role does not involve delivering training to volunteers

You will also support with managing the version history and corrections of our bespoke tutoring curriculum resources, helping keep our online library of materials accurate and up to date.

Duties and responsibilities

• Support with maintaining and updating tutor training paths on our digital learning management system, 360Learning.

We are looking for some of the following attributes, though you might be more experienced in some areas than others:

• Strong organisational skills; experience managing complex digital administrative processes with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience in assisting customers or other stakeholders with queries.
• Previous professional experience handling sensitive personal information appropriately.
• Proficiency in using Google Workspace.
• Evidence of adapting quickly to new software, including using video-conferencing software to set up events.
• Evidence of adapting quickly to using a CRM system.

You will likely be more successful in this role if you have: 

• Experience managing DBS applications, including supporting applicants with inquiries.
• Experience using Salesforce CRM for administration.

We are open to flexible, hybrid and remote-working, with some in person attendance required to support our conferences and events (approximately 4-6 per year) across the country, and attendance to our in-person team days in Leeds (2 per year).

ISEAL is hiring a Senior Policy Officer to join our team responsible for public engagement and policy influencing. This is the perfect role for someone who is keen to work in an increasingly dynamic regulatory and policy landscape to strengthen the role of voluntary sustainability tools alongside emerging mandatory measures. 

The core objective of the Policy and Engagement team is to support governments, civil society and other business influencers to understand, identify and use credible sustainability systems.  We do this through direct engagement with relevant government bodies in priority countries, engagement with individual businesses and business platforms and building member awareness and knowledge about relevant policy files and implications of new policies for their schemes and impact. The team focused on the UK, Switzerland, EU-wide policy and key EU members states, as well as on countries in the global south, including Colombia, Indonesia, India and Brazil.

The Senior Policy Officer will help drive engagement with policymakers in key countries in which ISEAL and its partners have a strategic policy interest, with a view to influencing the policy narrative on sustainability and specific policies. The role will identify policy engagement opportunities and provide insightful analysis of policy developments and trends.  In addition, the role will work closely with ISEAL members based in these regions to combine efforts and align on policy influencing.

The ideal candidate will have had exposure to working in an international policy context, either working as part of civic society with governments or as part of a government department. A strong grounding in sustainability issues and related key political and policy debates will be essential, along with some working knowledge of key policy trends in the human rights, climate and sustainability standards space. Prior experience in working in the EU, UK at policy and regulatory landscape or public affairs level will be an advantage. The Senior Officer reports to the Director, Policy and Engagement.

Key Responsibilities we will entrust you with:

Policy and government engagement

• Support ISEAL´s strategic engagement with identified key policymaker targets and audiences from a policy influencing and role of voluntary tools perspective
• Keep track of policy developments in key areas and jurisdictions and provide insights and analysis to inform ISEAL’s policy engagement work
• Help identify opportunities for engagements with relevant policymaker audiences and government agencies in key jurisdictions and engage with them as delegated and supported by other colleagues

Experience, Knowledge and Attributes

• Proven experience working in a policy context as part of civic society or within a government department supporting policy engagement
• Good working knowledge of the sustainability policy landscape and key debates in the space
• Strong skills in policy analysis and policy intelligence
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
• Excellent writing skills and ability to synthesise information
• Prior exposure to sustainability standards, passionate about sustainability linked policy issues such as human rights, climate, nature, due diligence  
• Some experience and comfortable with public speaking, e.g. facilitating webinars or workshops

The Public Fundraising Administrative Assistant is key to the smooth running of the team. They’ll work closely with every person in the team to provide effective and efficient administrative support and ensure our supporters have an excellent experience of fundraising for us.

The right candidate will have excellent attention to detail and enjoy working through processes. You’ll be able to manage a busy workload which depends on meeting deadlines, and be a team player with excellent communication and people skills. Above all you’ll have a real desire to make a difference to the lives of people affected by bowel cancer.

What the job involves

The Policy and Health Influencing team is responsible for using clinical data and evidence to shape what the organisation thinks and to develop solutions that drive change for men with and at risk of prostate cancer. This means working with clinicians, patients and stakeholders to interpret the latest changes in prostate cancer research, care, support and treatment which will help shape our strategic direction and activities.

As the Policy and Health Influencing Coordinator, you're key to supporting the policy and health influencing team, and teams across the Health Services, Equity and Improvement Directorate when needed. You'll have a varied and far-reaching portfolio of work for example, at times arranging important stakeholder events and meetings and ensuring we're hearing from people who've been through prostate cancer themselves. You'll also help share our work on social media and capture the outcomes of our external engagement.

In this role you’ll assist us in keeping track of and evaluating our progress in line with our organisational strategy, as well as keeping an eye on trends in the wider cancer and health landscape and reporting on them. Plus, you'll handle budget matters and make sure we have effective budget monitoring mechanisms in place.

What we want from you

We’re looking for a Coordinator who is highly organised, an effective communicator who knows how to adapt and effectively prioritise your time. You’ll have excellent coordination skills and can organise others too (especially teams which are based across the UK) and have experience of creating and updating forward planners, project schedules and streamlining team processes. You’ll be able to comfortably engage with senior managers and a breadth of external senior level stakeholders. Regularly taking the initiative to drive improvements so that the teams you support can operate efficiently.

With skills in collecting and utilising data to monitor, trend, and report on activity, you're proactive in acting on the results. You’ll have some experience or interest in working in the health or volunteer sector. You’re also quick to learn and capable at picking up new systems including those for budget management and product fulfilment.
