As a member of the Admissions & support team, you will be supporting the recruitment and development of new social workers, who will then go onto change the lives of vulnerable children and families. You will play a key role in supporting the completion of all suitability checks (conduct, health and previous social care involvement) for Approach Social Work applicants, managing competing deadlines and multiple applicant cases at any one time.
The role requires a qualified social worker with experience of statutory practice and ideally substantial working knowledge of implementing reasonable adjustments in practice. The role involves primarily risk assessment to inform often difficult discussions around health, conduct and social care experience for applicants to Approach Social Work. Experience of taking part in panels, navigating sensitive discussion around criminal, conduct, previous social care involvement would be required.
Our suitability advisors are social work qualified and experienced members of the team who hold a vital position in ensuring all pre-programme checks are completed fully and fairly, for applicants to Approach Social Work. Suitability advisors are responsible for completing risk assessments where for applicants who disclose criminal, conduct, previous social care matters or disabilities which may need to be considered pre-programme. Suitability advisors also provide organisational guidance on conduct, reasonable adjustments and disability.

The ideal applicant must be a qualified social worker who is registered with Social Work England, and be able to prioritise a busy caseload with multiple deadlines. This role will suit someone passionate about the future of the social work profession, and who holds equity, diversity and inclusion at the heart of their work.

Job Summary
The Shop Manager is responsible for the efficient running of the charity shop, including the management of staff and volunteers, ensuring a maximum financial return to the Wessex Children’s Hospice Trust.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
SALES AND PROFITS
- Achieve agreed sales targets and maximise profit through effective cost control
- Ensure that a standard of excellence is maintained at all times with regard to customer service and supporter care.
- To be responsible for the daily banking of shop takings and the production of accurate financial reports on sales and all corresponding documentation.
- Effectively analyse shop financial data to take the appropriate action.
STOCK MANAGEMENT AND STANDARDS
- Generate quality donated goods to achieve the agreed processing targets in order to maintain shop density levels, whilst complying with pricing guidelines.
- To ensure that the shop remains open to the public selling donated goods between the hours of 9.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Saturday.
- To recruit the necessary staff required to efficiently run the charity shop making full use of volunteer assistance.
- Ensure that effective processing systems are in place within the stockroom to support the needs of the sales floor.
- To provide day-to-day direction to the Assistant Shop Manager and volunteers, as necessary, supervising and coaching, making recommendation for any training and development.
- To produce a weekly work rota ensuring that the shop is fully staffed during the opening hours, arranging cover for holidays and sickness.
- To be responsible for developing and displaying a stock of quality items for sale in the shop, making full use of organised collection schemes, advertisements and general donated goods
- To continually seek improvements in the way stock is displayed in the shop, ensuring it is rotated frequently, attracting the maximum number of customers.
- To be responsible for dressing the window displays, and any Naomi House promotional material in the shop.
- To take the lead in pricing items for display, assisting other staff as necessary. To be able to identify valuable goods, antiques and designer clothing.
- To arrange for the disposal of unwanted items and waste.
- To manage paperwork ensuring that effective filing systems are maintained.
SECURITY, HEALTH AND SAFETY, FIRE SAFETY
- To be responsible for all security aspects of the shop; to be first key holder and ensure security procedures are followed in the handling of cash and property.
- To maintain compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, ensuring that all staff are informed and aware of their responsibilities.
- Ensure manual handling guidelines are followed.
- To be responsible for the management of daily fire risk responsibilities, including means of escape, fire evacuation plan, completion of the fire safety log book, fire protection (alarms and doors), fire equipment, housekeeping and relevant fire safety training.

As the Prospect Research and Communications Manager, you will take a leading role in identifying five, six, and seven-figure prospects for the Relationship Fundraising team. With a focus on building a healthy pipeline of high value donors from trusts and foundations, through to major donors, this role will work collaboratively with the team to identify new funding opportunities. This role will also populate pipelines for specific fundraising activity including Appeals and Special Events. Ensuring potential donors are engaged with the team's work, it will also work on delivering the Philanthropy communication programme.
The successful candidate will have proven experience within the charity sector and will have examples of successful prospect research for a fundraising team. This person will need to have high levels of attention to detail and be comfortable in creating compelling cases for support. Joining a collaborative team, but as the sole prospect researcher, this person will need to work with others as a team but also autonomously.

About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Marketing Manager to lead a team of two to deliver exceptional and effective brand and marketing activity.
You’ll be responsible for the development and delivery of brand and marketing campaigns for key programmes, projects and products, aligned to our organisational priorities.

- Develop and deliver audience and insight-led integrated marketing campaigns for key programmes, projects and products.
- Manage and develop the Brand and Marketing Communications Officers to deliver great work.

- Ensure all content and activity is representative of the people and communities we support, championing accessibility and inclusion in everything we do.

The role
We are looking for an energetic and proactive individual to join our friendly team. As Research Manager of Patient Programmes, you'll have a crucial role in advancing our mission. A central focus of this role is to develop and lead patient-centred educational programs, webinars, and content that ensure patients are well-informed, actively engaged, and empowered throughout their journey. You will also play a key role in strengthening the Foundation’s connection with patients and advocacy groups, ensuring their voices are meaningfully reflected in our research agenda and broader mission. A critical and growing area of work for the Foundation is the systematic gathering and use of patient insights and data. Key responsibilities
Strengthening patient engagement and education
- Education: Lead the delivery of impactful, patient-centred educational initiatives such as webinars, polls, and video content to inform and empower people living with FL, their families, and carers, and align with the Foundation’s mission to accelerate progress toward cure.

About the role:
The Floating Support Worker will specialise in working with women for whom housing, and risk of tenancy breakdown is a priority. You will provide specialist housing and domestic abuse support to women aged 18 and over. The accommodation needs of the women you support will require you to advocate and support for each woman efficiently and empathically, whilst liaising with providers and stakeholders to ensure her accommodation needs are met. The role is dynamic and requires the post holder to respond to women with effective crisis intervention, advocacy and support. They will be required to coordinate the provision of multiagency support which focuses on working with clients to maintain their tenancies and prevent homelessness. The post holder will establish positive, proactive, and innovative working relationships with housing services and partner agencies.
The Floating Support Worker will ensure that the women survivors views and needs inform every stage of the process, and so the post holder will be empathic, empowering and able to advocate for women. You will also share your learning with your team, Advance and other stakeholders to ensure best practice is consistently achieved.
Working as part of a team of Floating Support Workers, you will make proactive contact and provide high quality non-judgemental advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment. You will be responsible for a number of women at a time and you will be their designated and consistent support worker. You will also support women and referrers at the first stage of referral by completing assessments and providing crisis intervention support as part of a ‘duty’ team with designated days for you to do this.
The Floating Support Worker will have an excellent understanding of domestic violence and its effects on women and children and of best practice within the domestic abuse and the housing sectors. As an experienced domestic abuse advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, you will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information appropriately.
Experience of supporting female survivors of domestic violence with housing and accommodation needs, in partnership with other organisations, and of safeguarding procedures is essential for this post.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
· Create effective working partnerships with housing service providers and the local council to promote the Floating Support Worker Service
· Provide information, guidance and support to referral stakeholders to enable them to identify women at risk of and experiencing domestic violence, enabling them to confidently respond and refer women to the service. This may include delivery of briefings and information sessions to upskill housing workers. To continuously build awareness of the service and confidence of stakeholders in order to ensure women in need are identified and supported
· Effectively support a number of women at any one time, undertaking case management activities such as excellent assessments, action planning, referrals, and record keeping
· Conduct comprehensive assessments of needs and risk for women experiencing domestic violence, carry out short- and longer-term risk management, safety planning and support; and identify and refer to services appropriate to their needs, including attendance at specialist/dedicated courts and MARAC as required
· Develop and deliver support plans that include delivery of high-quality face to face or telephone crisis intervention, information, advocacy and support, in respect to criminal and civil remedies, housing, health, welfare rights, children’s legislation and other appropriate interventions. Ensure that focus on safe tenancy sustainment and homelessness prevention underpins all work
· Advise women of their rights and options for seeking help and support from other agencies, making referrals and co-ordinating the provision of multi-agency support where necessary, and proactively advocate ensuring barriers to accessing support and protection are minimised
· Proactively assess the needs and safety of any children that women using the service may have, ensure that any risks/needs identified are addressed directly with the woman, and take appropriate action to safeguard them
· Proactively assess the needs and safety of women at risk proactively following Adult at Risk policies and procedures
· Participate in multi-agency conferences in respect of children and adults at risk as required, providing reports and undertaking actions as necessary
· Ensure all monitoring and evaluation for each woman, all cases and the project overall is accurate and up to date. Work in partnership with your team and the Advance Insights and Evidence team to ensure all reporting requirements are met. Highlight issues and successes in a timely manner
· Ensure that agreed case recording and monitoring systems are kept up to date and secure, and write internal and external reports where required, including for safeguarding conferences, team meetings, managers and other appropriate partners and stakeholders
· Participate in multi-agency working and focus groups when requested to do so and follow through on agreed appropriate actions that arise from these
· Work effectively as a member of your own team and as a team member of Advance supporting all organisational objectives
· Work in partnership with housing staff and provide institutional advocacy to maximise positive outcomes and use the appropriate reporting mechanisms to highlight persistent or recurring issues that arise
· Be responsible for your own personal learning development and keep up to date on research, relevant legislation, policy and practice, and other literature relevant to the role

Job Description
As Fundraising Assistant you will be part of a growing and busy team currently responsible for raising £2.7million to fund the charity’s work to take on heart diseases. This role is integral to the team, supporting a variety of fundraising activity including our flagship anonymous heART project, third party challenges such as the London Marathon and Great North Run, fundraising activities organised by our supporters or third party challenges through an external supplier, digital fundraising activities as well as supporting some of our other income streams and administrative functions.
This is a brilliant role for someone looking to start a career in fundraising, giving broad experience across fundraising disciplines, with a particular focus on events, and scope to take on individual projects.
Given the nature of the role, it will require the postholder to be able to manage their time and workload effectively across a variety of tasks, while actively contributing to our work to generate income and achieve our targets.
Key Responsibilities
· To assist with the co-ordination and delivery of all art-related fundraising activities – including liaising with artists, promoting art sales and the anonymous heart project (in conjunction with the marketing team), and supporting the administration of these fundraising activities.
· To support third party challenge events (via external suppliers), including assisting with the administration, marketing, recruitment and stewardship of participants for such events as the London Marathon and the Great North Run and supporting with marathon event weekend activities.
