Job description

If you offer management experience in health/social care and excellent leadership skills, this position offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role delivering a vital service that supports people affected by gambling.

About Us

Founded in 1997, GamCare is the leading provider of information, advice and support for anyone affected by gambling. We operate the National Gambling Helpline, provide direct support for anyone who is affected by gambling, create awareness about safer gambling and support pathways, and encourage an effective approach to safer gambling within the gambling industry.

The Role

As Adult Services Team Leader, you will lead and inspire a team of Gambling Harms Practitioners and Outreach & Engagement Practitioners to deliver life changing support to individuals who are at risk of or experiencing gambling-related harms.

You will ensure the service is safe, caring, responsive, and effective, and monitor service quality and make sure staff meet their KPIs and contractual outcomes, and will use service data and feedback to drive service improvement.

You will also be working closely with external partners like health services, community groups, and other support organisations to expand the reach and effectiveness of GamCare’s services.

You will be located in close proximity to the East Midlands region as the role requires hands on delivery and support across the area with both staff engagement as well as involved outreach in many locations and venues.

About You

You will have strong leadership and people management abilities and be someone who takes pleasure from being a compassionate leader, supporting individuals in their professional development, alongside setting and managing high standards.

You will have a keen determination to grow, develop and continually improve the service for those in need of our support, bringing the team with you to harness the collective strengths and talents of individuals.

You will also need a relevant professional qualification in psychology, mental health, addictions, social work, nursing, health & social care, public health, leadership / management or demonstrable relevant experience with a commitment to continuous professional development.

Benefits You Can Enjoy

  • 33 days basic annual leave entitlement per annum (pro-rated for part-time colleagues) including bank holidays which increases with service
  • A generous Pension Scheme - we contribute 6% and you contribute 2%
  • Discretionary company sick pay from day one of service
  • Employee Assistance Programme – 24-hour support

Closing date for applications: 5pm Tuesday 19th August 2025.

Interviews will take place online via video conference – week commencing 25th August 2025.

Appointment is subject to a DBS check.

GamCare are committed to offering the best support to people affected by gambling harms, as such we welcome applications from candidates with lived experience.

GamCare is an equal opportunities employer and don’t discriminate based on race, religion, gender, age, sexuality, gender identification, or physical ability.
