We are looking for an outgoing and self-motivated individual to help drive and develop vision, mission and strategy to progress the youth work of both the Schools and College Pastors initiatives under the Ascension Trust umbrella and as lead for the Synergy Network.

The focus in this role:

• Coordinating and supporting the Schools and College Pastor initiatives and developing strategies to grow and strengthen the work of our teams and also to promote the network and collaborations with other organisations.
• Enthuse and engage with stakeholders who want to work to combat serious youth violence, including faith groups, police and public sector.
• Develop and implement a future strategy for School and College Pastors and the Synergy Network.
• Develop funding bids for future initiatives such as the prevention of serious youth violence, working with the Youth Endowment Fund, Violence Reduction Units, and developing funding streams for the School and College Pastor initiatives with appropriate funding bodies.
• Develop vision, strategy and training for growth in new and existing initiatives.
• Develop and maintain a communications strategy for the Synergy Network, including events organisation, website and social media maintenance.
• Support the Synergy Network board by organising events, maintaining the website and social media platforms.
• This is a role that allows for flexibility and creativity in approach with training and support available to grow the individual in post.

About the Role

This is a dual-role position supporting both the Finance and HR functions of the charity. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting budget management, and ensuring smooth day-to-day HR operations. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in finance who is looking to broaden their experience in HR.

What you will do

Finance

· Post transactions into our accounting software, Xero, ensuring that everything is accurately recorded and coded.

· Process and record financial transactions, including invoices, payments, card payments and expenses, and organise a twice- monthly pay run.

· Perform bank reconciliations.

· Manage the accounts mailbox.

· Complete the quarterly gift aid claims.

· Support the Head of Finance and Resources with the completion of the monthly management accounts, financial reporting and budgeting.

· Maintain financial and other administrative records, e.g. fixed asset register.

HR

· Maintain up-to-date employee records and keep our HR Information System (Breathe HR) up to date.

· Support the HR Lead by producing monthly or quarterly reports from Breathe HR.

· Support recruitment processes including posting job adverts, scheduling interviews, obtaining references and assisting with onboarding and induction of new staff.

· Work with the HR Lead to ensure that HR policies and procedures are up to date and compliant with legislation.

· Organise mandatory training for staff and maintain training records.

· Support employee wellbeing initiatives and internal communications.

· Assist in the payroll process by providing accurate HR data to the finance team.

· Minute the People Committee meeting on a quarterly basis.

· Support for trustee meetings set up and diary management.

Flexibility

Our staff who live in or near London operate on a hybrid model, working in our office within South Bank University (one minute from Elephant and Castle tube station) on Mondays and Tuesdays. Full-time staff work in the office both those days and at home the rest of the week, while part-time staff who live in or near London are required to work in the office on one of those days, and at home for the rest of the week. We also have staff outside London who are fully home-based. We would ideally like the Finance and HR Officer to work in the London office on either Monday or Tuesday (or both if they would prefer that) but we are flexible as to when in the week the remainder of the hours are worked, provided that there is a consistent working pattern each week.

Role Purpose

• Assist the Research & Insights Manager in the design and managing of research and insights which support CAN’s mission.

• To support the Research & Insights Manager in creating producing insights and communications materials for the advertising industry and trade and national press i.e Member briefings, press releases and social media comms.

The Role:
 
As a Data Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the Data Manager by ensuring their supporter and contact database (Raiser’s Edge) is effectively maintained and up to date. You will assist the wider Development team with reports and queries, help manage fundraising data and ensure the accuracy and integrity of donor information. 
 
Main responsibilities:
 
Assist in the daily management of the Raiser’s Edge database, ensuring data accuracy through regular audits.  Imports and exports of data.  Provide training and advice to colleagues on database access and usage, ensuring compliance with best practices.  Reconcile and process donations from various sources, including BACS, credit cards, and online platforms.  Run direct debit and gift aid claims, ensuring valid documentation is maintained. Provide key data and segmentation for fundraising appeals and emails, working closely with the communications team.
 
Essential requirements:

• Experience in CRM systems (Raiser’s Edge) and proficiency in MS Excel
• Demonstrable experience supporting charities and fundraising teams in a data role
• Confident working with large datasets
• Solid understanding of GDPR and data confidentiality

In the spring of 2025, the Vivensa Foundation launched its new strategic framework and identity.  Formerly known as the Dunhill Medical Trust, it was back in the 1980s that our founder's niece recognised that the shifting demographics would drive a need for investment in a high-quality research base to improve our understanding of the mechanisms of ageing and ageing-related disease, together with the delivery of innovation to improve health and social care services for older people.

We now have a full time, permanent vacancy for an aspiring grants management professional to help us to deliver our strategic plan. Operations Officer (Internal role names: Scheduler, Response Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator)
 

Time: 2.5 days per week (20 hours). Monday is an essential working day, the rest of the time can be worked flexibly within business hours.

Where: Remote - UK based. Two team days per year in London / South East or online. 

Salary: £26,000 full time equivalent

As Scheduler, you’ll help allocate new client referrals to our team of practitioners and coordinate smooth handovers between team members. You’ll work closely with the Scheduling Lead and wider operations team to ensure efficiency and continuity of care.

In the Response Coordinator role, you'll manage all incoming enquiries via phone and email, ensuring timely responses and directing queries to the appropriate team member.

As Volunteer and Placement Coordinator, you’ll oversee the onboarding of volunteers and Music Therapy student placements, matching individuals to suitable settings, and handling DBS checks and references.

You’ll also contribute to ongoing improvements by sharing feedback and insights from your role to support the development of internal systems and processes.

Accountabilities

This role involves a range of duties that may vary week to week. Key responsibilities include:

• Responding promptly to general enquiries from individuals and organisations via phone and email

• Supporting the scheduling team with new referrals, service contracts, and opportunities, including liaising with Music Therapists and Community Musicians

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in our CRM system (Salesforce or similar experience is desirable), including logging communications and key information

• Ensuring clear and consistent communication with clients, referrers, and partner organisations regarding referrals and enquiries

• Creating and managing service agreements using Jotform

• Assisting with assurance and compliance paperwork

• Transferring referral data and supporting team members in keeping client records current

• Coordinating student placements and volunteer onboarding, including DBS and reference checks and matching to appropriate settings

• Signposting individuals to relevant resources where appropriate

• Providing operational support to team members and directing queries to the appropriate colleague

Person specification

We are looking for a highly organised, efficient individual who can work independently and take initiative when needed. The ideal candidate will demonstrate empathy and sensitivity in all communications, with a warm and supportive telephone manner and the ability to write clear, compassionate email responses to clients and referrers.

Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach are essential, as this role involves close interaction with colleagues across the team. An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, music therapy and the experiences of our clients is important.

Confidence using digital tools and systems is essential, as the role involves working with a range of platforms to support service delivery and coordination.

Key essential competencies: 

• Excellent and clear communication both written and verbal 

• Attention to detail

• Ability to prioritise effectively where needed

• Ability to work with sensitive data confidentially and in line with GDPR requirements

• An empathic and understanding approach

• Understanding of safeguarding practices and willingness to stay up to date with regular training

• Ability to understand the needs of our clients to help ensure the right support, in collaboration with the practitioners 

• Ability to work responsively to changes

Desirable: 

• Experience of working with a CRM database, Salesforce is preferable

• Experience using Google workspace and Google Docs and Sheets 

• Experience working with Jotform and Slack is preferable

Training will be provided in all these areas should you not have experience working with these platforms.

The Role:

You will be joining at an important time for our team, covering a crucial role in ensuring accurate income processing, reporting, and financial management across the organisation. As part of the Finance team, you will work closely with colleagues across departments, particularly alongside our fundraising team, to ensure income is correctly coded and reported efficiently. 

With responsibility for month-end and year-end processes, as well as maintaining accurate and timely financial data, you will play a vital role in supporting decision-making across the organisation. Your work will ensure colleagues have the financial insights they need, enabling strategic planning and effective resource management. 

Strong communication skills are essential for this role, as you will liaise with teams across the organisation to provide clear financial updates, answer queries, and ensure income is accurately coded and reported in line with financial procedure. Your clear communication of financial information will support informed decision-making and ensure compliance with procedures. 

To succeed in this role, you will have strong financial processing experience, excellent attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You should be comfortable working with financial systems and software, with the ability to efficiently manage data, generate reports, and ensure accurate income tracking.

The role

We’re seeking a Research Officer to join our fantastic Research team following an internal promotion within the team.

• You will be ensuring that the management of funding rounds is robust, coordinated, and delivered to the highest possible quality, and that the funding rounds we offer address key needs of the research and patient community.
• You will be responsible for managing key stakeholders in the grant funding process, including applicants, award holders and committee members to organise key events.
• You will be liaising with researchers and people with lived experience of pancreatic cancer to coordinate meaningful internal and external public and patient involvement (PPI) through our Research Involvement Network.

About You 

• You will need sound knowledge of research principles and the UK research funding environment.
• Experience of working in a scientific or clinical research context with an undergraduate degree, preferably with a biomedical focus.
• An understanding of patient and public involvement and how to converse with people affected by pancreatic cancer.
• An ability to build relationships and coordinate working with many large and diverse specialist stakeholder groups.
