Domestic Abuse Officer

We are now looking for an experience Domestic Abuse Officer to provide an effective, efficient, and supportive service to women who are victims of domestic abuse providing emotional, practical and welfare support. As our Domestic Abuse Officer, you will provide a high-quality pro-active service to victims of domestic abuse and other forms of VAWG in either 1:1 or group settings delivering a service to those at medium and low risk.

As a Domestic Abuse Officer, your responsibilities will be:

· To work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse.

· To ensure that women are enabled to access their rights and are informed about their options.

· To reach out to survivors of domestic abuse and raise awareness of domestic abuse and local services offered.

· To support and implement the aims and objectives of Young Ladies Club ensuring that all work is undertaken in accordance with Young Ladies Club policies and procedures.

· To facilitate or co-facilitate the support groups

· To facilitate the provision of culturally sensitive therapeutic interventions and counselling services.

Required Skills and Experience:

· Demonstrable qualifications and/or experience in the field of domestic violence accommodation and support.

· An excellent working knowledge of key issues faced by black and minoritised women who have experienced Domestic Abuse and VAWG. Able to apply this knowledge at a practical level.

· Experience of identifying and responding to the risks to and needs of survivors of domestic

violence

· Experience of working with vulnerable women at least some of which are women or girls affected by domestic abuse and other forms of gender-based violence.

· A sound working knowledge of the practical, emotional, social and economic issues facing black and minoritised women and girls affected by domestic, and intimate relationship abuse

· Experience of multi-agency partnership working

· Knowledge of relevant legislation relating to Immigration, Honour Based Violence, Forced Marriage and FGM.

· Experience in running support groups in the community

· Ability to work with interpreters and volunteers.

· Ability to work with voluntary organisations, local authorities and government agencies on behalf of women.

· Effective communication skills.

· Experience of managing basic administrative systems.

· Training and qualifications in the provision of advice and advocacy on issues such as housing, welfare benefits and domestic violence.

· Good working knowledge of IT system and databases.

· Ability to run groups virtually on Zoom/Teams etc

This is one of two District Property Secretary roles in North West England Methodist District, who will be the first point of contact on all matters relating to property. Using their knowledge of land and buildings, and their use and maintenance, in addition to knowledge of governance in the Methodist church context, the postholders will ensure a coherent and holistic approach to property across the District. 

Key Responsibilities 

Provide advice to churches and circuits on property-related matters

Work with colleagues, including ministers and lay members of the circuits and churches within the District, to maximise utilisation of property and land across the District for mission and income generation, in line with Connexional property strategy

Job Purpose
The Head of Community will work with the Director of Services on strategic and operational planning and provide operational leadership for the range of Community services delivered by Age UK East London.

The purpose of this role is to:

• Take responsibility for the delivery of Age UK East London’s Community Service offer, ensuring its delivery requirements are met and we are responsive to new opportunities.
• Ensure that older people who are supported by the Community team also benefit from the range of AUKEL services and those provided by other local partners.
• Be an active member of our SLT, working with senior leaders across AUKEL, contributing your experience and expertise to problem solve, spot and develop opportunities as well as make an impact on our overall organisational development
journey.
• Build responsive and accountable relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including commissioners, partner providers, senior health and social care professionals.
• Motivate and inspire a frontline staff and volunteer team, using excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of key issues affecting older people.
• Ensure the services are meeting all KPI’s for quality and delivery, overseeing data management and analysis to ensure compliance and insight that supports future development and demonstration of impact, taking a continuous improvement
approach.
• Ensure service staffing and delivery arrangements are optimal, including by assessing which services need allocated staff and which would be better delivered by a central team.

Coordination and Management of service

• Line manage service managers and coordinators, and oversee the good management of all service staff.

Overview
 

The Senior Finance Assistant (12 month FTC) plays a critical role in ensuring financial transactions, records, and reporting processes are accurate, efficient, and compliant. This role focuses on oversight, review, and higher-level accounting support, particularly around reconciliations, payments, balance sheet management, and process integrity.

Key Responisbilities

• Lead weekly payment runs: review approvals, process transactions, and dispatch remittances. 
• Review and approve bank reconciliations prepared by Finance Assistants. 
• Manage and review balance sheet accounts, including aged items and reconciliation of all control accounts. 
• Oversee and maintain fixed asset registers and calculate depreciation. 
• Input and review month-end journals, including prepayments and adjustments. 
• Review and summarise accruals prepared by the Senior-Leaning Finance Assistant.
• Support the month-end close process through variance analysis and management reporting. 
• Assist with preparation of management accounts, overhead reporting, and audit documentation.
• Oversee compliance with VAT and internal control requirements.
• Validate changes to supplier bank details and ensure controls are followed. 
• Mentor Finance Assistants and provide support for complex queries.
• Maintain organised digital and paper filing systems in accordance with audit requirements. 
• Provide absence cover for transaction team members as needed.
• Create and maintain nominal ledger codes and assist in updating budget structures. 
• Provide structured onboarding and training to new finance team members and ongoing support to existing staff.
• Works with the Finance Manager to critically review, document and improve finance processes 
• Support on P11D/PSA identification, liaising with HR or payroll as necessary.
• Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and segregation of duties.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Experience with finance systems (e.g., Access Financials) and intermediate Excel. 
• Strong understanding of transaction processing, reconciliations, and month-end accounting. 
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle complex processes. 
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Proactive, organised, and committed to continuous improvement. 
• Experience with Partial VAT.

The British Psychological Society (BPS) is seeking a dynamic Project Lead to join the Business Improvement Team. This role will initially focus on delivering key projects within our Education and Training Directorate, contributing to the transformation of psychology qualifications and assessment design.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Leading the planning, execution, and delivery of allocated projects within the Education & Training area
• Managing project teams and ensuring milestones are met on time and within budget
• Engaging with internal and external stakeholders
• Supporting change management and continuous improvement initiatives
• Reporting on progress, risks, and budget to senior stakeholders.

Candidates should be educated to degree level, with strong knowledge of project management frameworks. You must have proven experience in leading complex projects as well as excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.  You should be able to work autonomously as well as within a team, and be able to adapt to changing contexts.  Knowledge or experience within an education, qualification or training environment or an understanding of psychology qualifications and assessment models would be advantageous.
