We’re now looking for an experienced leader to step into a senior interim role, providing stability, leadership and momentum across our engagement activity during a period of transition.

This role will lead all of our mass fundraising and engagement activity, including Individual Giving, Legacies, Community & Events Fundraising, and Supporter Care. It is a senior, influential role shaping how supporters experience Mencap, how we grow income sustainably, and how we build long-term relationships rooted in trust and shared values.

As part of the interim remit, the role will also provide operational oversight and support to our High Value Relationships team, working closely with the interim Executive Director of Fundraising and other colleagues to ensure continuity, strong performance management and clear oversight of income and KPIs during this period.

You’ll bring strategic vision and clarity, alongside strong operational judgement. You’ll know how to turn insight into action, how to use data intelligently (without losing the human touch), and how to lead teams through change with confidence and care. You’ll be comfortable holding performance, using financial and KPI information to support delivery and decision-making.

Just as importantly, you’ll recognise that our supporters aren’t just numbers or segments – they’re individuals who care deeply about our work and want to feel connected to the difference they’re helping to make.

You’ll lead the place where Mencap’s fundraising brand, proposition, and voice really come to life, designing experiences, appeals, campaigns and supporter journeys that reflect the voices and lived experiences of people with a learning disability and show the world why our work matters.

This is a full‑time role (37.5 hours per week), offered on a 9‑month fixed‑term contract, with flexibility on location.

We’re seeking an experienced and visionary Fundraising Database and Insights Lead.

This is a strategic, high-impact role for a data-driven expert who can unlock insights to maximise supporter engagement and drive income growth.

You will ensure the quality, accuracy and strategic use of data to define clear strategies that sharpen targeting, deepen donor relationships, and enhance campaign performance.

You will support the implementation of a brand-new CRM system, own responsibility for the management and overall health of our supporter data, generate fundraising output data and analyse the effectiveness of our fundraising efforts.

LGBT Foundation is an impactful, vibrant charity with a wide portfolio of well-established services and rapidly developing new initiatives aimed at meeting the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans people.  The Fundraising & Marketing Team at LGBT Foundation is a small yet collaborative group of professionals. They are dedicated to advancing the visibility and impact of the UK’s leading health and wellbeing charity. The team is responsible for implementing wide-ranging fundraising, communication, and marketing strategies. You will also work with the Director of Fundraising & Marketing to shape four individual giving campaigns a year and two legacy awareness campaigns a year. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Marketing Manager to keep fundraising information on webpages and social channels active, ensuring regular promotion of charity challenges and shaping digital mobilisation efforts which will build the charity’s supporter base, attracting more new donors.   

You will support regular reporting on performance towards financial targets, working closely with colleagues to reconcile income, ensure Salesforce records and reports are up-to-date and that integrations support automated data flows.

Systems, Technology, and Intelligence

About the Position…

Our Senior Residential Manager and Responsible Individual supports the Head of Service in the delivery of the Trusts residential services for cared for children. You will oversee several services that provide support to vulnerable young people, working across a range of differing needs.

• Line-manage and support children’s residential registered managers to ensure high‑quality person‑centred care across all services.
• Ensure all registered children’s homes comply with standards, regulations, policies, and procedures, with effective systems supporting staff in delivering care.
• Act as the Responsible Individual for designated children’s homes or services.
• Lead quality‑assurance processes to maintain good or outstanding practice and clearly evidence outcomes for children.
• Ensure registered managers promote and safeguard the welfare and well‑being of children in residential care.
• Work with our People and Culture team to improve staff recruitment and retention, supporting managers with staffing matters including disciplinary, capability, practice concerns, and internal investigations.
• Promote the trust’s residential services externally, develop relationships with external stakeholders, support referrals and placements, and participate in relevant conferences and events.
• Ensure delegated budgets are managed in line with financial procedures and that each residential service meets income and expenditure targets.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Social Care Common Inspection Framework.

About the you…

Do you have the following skills and experience,

• Level 5 Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare of equivalent 
• Significant Children’s Residential experience as a Registered Manager or suitable equivalent, experienced in promoting high quality children’s residential services.
• Strong knowledge of childcare legislation and OFSTED inspection requirements.
• Extensive experience leading high-quality residential services for young people with complex social or health needs, understanding care planning, transitions, and leaving care.
• Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with local authority officers and commissioners.
• Knowledge of leadership and management principles, including managing change and managing of service budgets, including income and expenditure.
• An analytical approach to report writing, continuing improvement of services and measurement of care outcomes.
• A full current driving licence – mileage will be paid at 45p per mile
• Up-to-date IT skills and the ability to use electronic recording systems (Clearcare) to improve service delivery.
• A flexible approach to work, including some weekend on-call requirements.

About Chapter One

Chapter One is a small but growing charity, working to ensure that every child has 1:1 reading support at the time they need it most.

Our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme currently supports about 3,500 children a year. It pairs disadvantaged, struggling five to eight-year old (KS1) readers with reading support volunteers who come from over 180 local and national businesses. The volunteer task is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability.

We have set ourselves ambitious targets and want to support 3,900 children by 2026/27, so this role, with responsibility for building new corporate partnerships, will be crucial to ensuring that we have sufficient volunteers to achieve this target. 2026 has been designated by the Government as the National Year of Reading, so we have a great opportunity to capitalise on this and secure business commitment for our work!

About the role

Chapter One is seeking a proactive, energetic and enthusiastic Business Development Officer to be an integral part of a team which aims to both maximise corporate income and take Chapter One into new regions across the UK.

Reporting to our Business Development Manager (BDM), but also working closely with our Corporate Partnerships Team, you’ll help them to deliver our annual volunteer targets. This will involve prospect research and engagement, presentations, networking, pipeline management and lead conversion.

This role within Chapter One is an opportunity for an early career professional or someone looking for a career change to hone their business development and sales skills in a dynamic, fast-growing charity which is flexible and agile. 

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Partner Recruitment

• With support from the BDM, proactively ‘sell’ Chapter One programmes to potential new corporate partners to achieve annual new partner/volunteer targets

• Use LinkedIn Sales Navigator and other relevant platforms to identify, research and contact potential new corporate partners

• Prepare and tailor communications for prospective new partners, including research on their CSR/social value strategy and its alignment with Chapter One’s mission and regional presence

• Ensure the prospective new partner pipeline is proactively managed on our Salesforce CRM and work with the BDM to automate the pipeline process where appropriate.

• Identify opportunities for regional expansion and support the BDM to secure commitments in line with launch timetables

• Identify opportunities for expansion in specific sectors or in relation to specific initiatives.

• Post on LinkedIn and develop a network of CSR and Social Value managers and relevant organisations

• Research relevant intermediaries, local authorities and groups with which Chapter One could build ‘broker’ relationships

• Keep up to date with developments in CSR/ESG/Social Value and employer-led volunteering

• Research relevant events and conferences that Chapter One team could attend to network and/or speak

• Ensure Chapter One information on external volunteering and matchmaking platforms is kept up-to-date

Account Management

• Lead the account management of a portfolio of corporate partners (approx. 10–15), delivering against retention, growth, and income targets through regular reviews and proactive relationship building.

• Plan and deliver partnership meetings, volunteer recruitment sessions, and tailored communications aligned to each partner’s CSR strategy and Chapter One’s mission.

• Collaborate with the Corporate Partnerships Team and internal teams to produce high-quality reports, pitches, onboarding experiences, and promotional materials for partners and volunteers.

• Ensure accurate partner administration, including CRM record-keeping (Salesforce), invoicing coordination, and general account management processes.

General

• Oversee, maintain and develop business development processes, including use of Salesforce CRM and exchange of information with the Corporate Partnerships Team

• Conduct administrative duties as required to support the Business Development Manager

• Attend online and in person meetings, conferences and events to represent Chapter One, talk about its work and recruit partners.

We are looking for some of the following attributes, though you might be more experienced in some areas than others:

The Opportunity   

The postholder will be responsible for supporting with the oversight of our Aspiring Professionals Programme and Programme Delivery team, with approximately 70% of the activity provision sitting within our Volunteering and Mentoring provision.

The SMF offers in-person and online support and opportunities, so this role will involve providing virtual and in-person support to students and working with employers across the UK.

1. Line Management  

• Set and monitor goals for performance and development with direct reports  
• Coach staff, providing timely feedback and guidance
