We are looking for a creative, organised and audience-focused marketing and communications professional to join the Trust. Reporting to the Senior Communications & Marketing Manager, you will work with the whole team identifying the best ways to use our different channels to share our unique and inspiring stories and develop our profile at local, national and international levels. 

You will have experience of coordinating marketing and communications activity, ideally in a visitor-facing venue. 

You will have oversight of the website, social media platforms, e-newsletter and audience research programme and will support with press enquiries, PR and content development. These currently take place 3 times a year and require an overnight stay. There will also be periodic in-person meetings with colleagues which can take place at a convenient location locally.

About the role

Scope of role

The Senior IT & Operations Officer is responsible for leading the central coordination of IT operations, managing key relationships with two main contractors (IT and estate management), and ensuring seamless integration of IT infrastructure and estate management services. This role involves overseeing the effective and efficient functioning of both IT systems and estate operations for Toynbee Hall and Toynbee Trading, while prioritising the safety of staff and stakeholders on-site. Additionally, they will support the procurement of IT and estate-related items, such as IT kit, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of required resources.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Information Technology & Systems

• Support the COO and wider SMT with all IT related strategy including procurement and streamline of new IT service provider/s. Including setting up KPIs’ and using these to assess performance.
• Manage the setup of new staff – including the procurement of equipment required for the role – this includes all communication tools.
• Managing the relationship and being the key point of contact with the technology suppliers and technology support providers.
• Identifying cost savings/efficiencies in the tech stack.
• Supporting IT KIT refresh plans and purchase, this includes audit of needs and vendor negotiations and lifecycle planning with the COO.
• Leading on regular assessment of IT and systems needs for all services and administrative staff.

Facilities, Health and Safety & General Administration

• Act as the main point of contact with our property management company. Work with the COO to escalate issues.
• Book in contractors and maintain all required documentation in conjunction with other key stake holders (property manager/agent).

• Work with H&S consultants and property managers to ensure all relevant training is planned for and carried out and Risk assessments are being completed and used.

• Maintain records for all mandatory tests in conjunction with our property agents.
• Liaise with the Events and Venue Manager to ensure building management is always in place, keyholding, security etc.

The Corporate Partnerships Manager will play a vital role in supporting New Horizon Youth Centre’s mission by managing and growing a portfolio of valued corporate partners (>£20k) and supporters (<£20k). They will nurture these relationships to ensure meaningful, long-term support for our work with young people facing homelessness.

This will include organising volunteering days that inspire action, delivering lunch and learn sessions that deepen understanding of our cause, and finding creative ways for partners to make a real difference. This role will also drive new business, proactively building relationships with companies who share our values and want to help young people fulfil their potential.

In addition, they will lead on New Horizon’s events programme, developing and delivering inspiring events that connect corporate partners, high-net-worth individuals, and other supporters to the heart of our mission.

Come and join our small but brilliant Membership and Learning team. We have an ambitious strategy to strengthen the network through growing a culture of continuous learning, improving member insight and developing targeted learning. 

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to support our team with a range of administrative and project-based tasks. The Membership and Learning team is dedicated to developing, co-creating, and delivering engaging, inclusive learning experiences that foster creativity, curiosity and critical thinking in philanthropy and grant making. In this dynamic role, you'll be involved in organising conferences and meetings, hosting webinars, managing key projects, and building strong relationships across the network. Your work will be a blend of project coordination, event management, and administration, ensuring our learning initiatives run smoothly and effectively.  

Our members vary from very small teams with two or three staff to well established very well- resourced foundations. The Membership and Learning team are the contact point for all community foundations. You will be supporting the team to: answer members’ enquiries, champion best practice and raise standards. 

Working closely with other teams including Communications, Business Development and Programmes, the Membership and Learning team has an oversight of all UKCF activity relating to our members.

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled PR & Media Officer to join our team. This role requires a creative thinker with excellent communication skills who can manage media relations and promote our initiatives through various channels.

Responsibilities

Press

• Field enquiries from stakeholders including journalists and police forces
• Write press releases and media statements and share these when appropriate via digital & social
• Support the team with the rewards process and promotion
• Draft assets for press
• Be part of the on-call rota system currently 1 week in 7 (training and support provided)
• Effectively manage Vuelio to manage the daily tagging, produce media reports demonstrating PR coverage for all campaigns in a timely way.

Digital

• Develop and update content for website news pages and social media platforms
• Spot trends and advise the team regarding innovative new ideas for PR & Media to share with the team

PR and Publications

• Produce, edit and distribute updates and materials for external and internal audiences, dealing sensitively with those whose personal experiences might be featured
• Provide communications support for regional managers along with other internal staff and teams in addition to police and business development campaigns
• Manage external freelancers and agencies as needed to agreed deadlines and budgets
• To lead on editing, co-ordinating and organising the editorial, design and production of corporate publications
• Ensure all publications are in line with brand and changing needs of the charity and to be delivered in a timely via post and digitally.

Brand

• Ensure Crimestoppers consistent branding is used along with the style and tone of voice
• Manage on a weekly basis the brand inbox queries
• Extend the network of journalists both regionally and nationally
• Plan/create multi-media communications material

Experience

• Minimum 2 years experience working in media relations and PR or related fields (Essential)
• Client, journalist and/or supplier management (Essential)
• Experience of PR & Communications software (e.g. Vuelio) (Essential)
• Digital & Social Media experience (Essential)
• Excellent written communication skills online and offline (Essential)

About the Departments:

Both roles sit within the Cathedral and Church Buildings (CCB) Department, which supports the care and sustainable development of the Church of England's 42 cathedrals and 16,000 church buildings, of which 12,500 are listed, to help fulfil the vision and strategy of the Church of England. It also supports dioceses with the disposal of church buildings no longer required for worship and finding them a new future. Through advice, guidance, advocacy and fundraising, the Department provides strategic support on conservation and caring for historic church buildings, making change to support worship and communities, and working towards Net Zero Carbon 2030. Members of the Department engage with dioceses, parishes and cathedral teams, as well as nationally with government, agencies, charities, funders, General Synod and across the National Church Institutions to make the case for church buildings and their vital role in worship, community and national life.

Buildings for Mission team

The Buildings for Mission project is an initiative of the Department funded by the Church Commissioners from the 2023-25 triennium allocations. It is providing £11m of support to dioceses and parishes through advice and grants, structured around three main activities. The Church Buildings Support Officers (CBSO) Grant Scheme supports salary and related costs for new posts to provide advice to parishes on repair and maintenance and on developing the wider use and support for churches through community engagement. The Minor Repairs and Improvements Grants Fund is devolving £6.2m to dioceses to distribute in the form of grants for urgent and necessary small-scale repair projects or improvement projects. The Church Buildings Management Partnerships (CBMPs) initiative aims at the formation of partnerships to provide maintenance and insurance services to member churches. Pilot projects are being grant-aided over the period 2025-26.

The Grants Officer role within the Buildings for Mission team will provide a responsive service for the grant schemes under the Buildings for Mission initiative:

• The Church Buildings Support Officers (CBSO) Grant Scheme,
• The Minor Repairs and Improvements Grants Fund, and
• The Church Buildings Management Partnerships (CBMP) pilots.

Net Zero Carbon Programme

The Net Zero Carbon Programme was established to help the Church of England to deliver its commitment to reaching Net Zero Carbon by 2030. It aims to aims to equip, resource and support all parts of the Church to reduce carbon emissions from the energy used in its buildings, schools and through work-related transport by 2030. The team manages the distribution of a grant portfolio worth £190 million across 2023-31, aimed at supporting and equipping dioceses, parishes and other parts of the Church to reach the milestones set out in the Routemap to Net Zero 2030.

The Grants Officer role within the Net Zero Carbon programme will play a vital role in supporting the work of the Net Zero Carbon Programme's grant streams, supporting it in delivering a consistent and responsive service to grantees.

In both roles, duties will include:

• Assisting the Grants Manager with general operation and oversight of the schemes
• Providing a knowledgeable and responsive service to dioceses as first point of contact for the grant schemes
• Handling general enquiries and pre-application engagement, assessing and responding to expressions of interest from prospective applicants
• Handling a caseload of live grants

Key role requirements:

• For the Buildings for Mission role, the post-holder will be required to come into the primary office location (Church House) or another NCI or diocesan office location (subject to agreement with relevant office management) a minimum of one day per week.
• For the Net Zero Carbon Programme role, the post-holder will required to be home-based, with regular meetings in Church House Westminster and occasional travel elsewhere (up to two days per month).
• These are both fixed-term contracts, Buildings for Mission team (12 month contract) and Net Zero Carbon Programme (12 month contract). There is a possibility that these contract lengths could be extended to the end of 2028, but this is dependant on further funding being agreed.
• You will need to have knowledge/experience of historic and/or natural environment conservation or heritage management OR experience working in the environment or sustainability sector (depending on which role you choose to apply for).
• Both roles require good written/spoken communication skills, good interpersonal skills, ability to work well both on own initiative and good analytical skills.

Your Salary

• A salary of £40,572 per annum, plus age-related pension contributions between 8-15% of salary. We will also match any pension contributions you make up to an additional 3% of your salary.
