Home-Start Barnet delivers early intervention programmes to families with young children, who have multiple needs and are struggling to cope with the challenges they face. Our trained volunteers provide the emotional support needed to prevent crisis and the practical tools to empower parents and carers to give their children the best start in life.

Key responsibilities are to:

• Handle all incoming communications - phone, email and other communications
• Provide central administration support to the charity
• Support and build engagement across different social media channels
• Update content for HSB’s website
• Support and help organise training and events

The role is based at our offices in Finchley, N3. Due to the nature of our work, we require someone to be present in the office 5 days a week. We have a welcoming and relaxed office environment, but also take pride in our professional standards.

Our partnership in Zambia is six years old. King’s Global Health Partnerships (KGHP) initiated a long-term partnership with Arthur Davison Children’s Hospital and Ndola Teaching hospital, in Ndola province, Zambia. Work in Zambia has focused on maternal and newborn health, breast cancer surgery, antimicrobial stewardship and health worker wellbeing.

KGHP is based within the School of Life Course & Population Sciences. The School of Life Course & Population Sciences is one of five Schools that make up the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine at King’s College London. The School unites experts across 5 departments, Women and Children’s health, Nutritional Sciences, Population Health Sciences, Ophthalmology and Twins & Genetic Epidemiology, overall covering the complexities of life course health & disease from individual cells molecular genetics to whole population level.

About the role

We are looking for a Programme Manager to lead on the management of our current programme activities in Somaliland and Zambia. The role will lead on the management of various grants/ projects within our Somaliland and Zambia partnerships as well as strengthening our partnership approaches in these two countries. The role will be responsible for project closeout, startup of new projects secured as well as developing new funding proposals to support the aims as set out in our partnership and organisational strategies. 

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

1. BSc or MSc in Global Health or International Relations or aligned subject
2. Relevant experience managing multiple projects (including large and complex grants/contracts) throughout the full project cycle, preferably projects delivered by consortiums
3. Relevant experience working collaboratively with partner organisations in low resource settings
4. Financial management and budgeting experience for complex multi-year, multi-partner projects
5. Experience of developing MEL strategies for large and complex programmes, including developing indicators, theories of change, learning processes
6. Experience coordinating and managing the development of successful funding proposals including institutional donors such as FCDO and the DHSC
7. Significant experience in donor compliance and relationship management, preferably including trusts and foundations and institutional donors

Desirable criteria

1. Knowledge/expertise of global health, health systems strengthening, or health workforce

The Lead Practitioner will play a key role in supporting the Approved Premises (AP) Managers in the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring high standards of care, safety, and rehabilitation opportunities for residents. This includes overseeing staff support, organising shift coverage, coordinating training, and maintaining strong relationships with external partners. The role requires a proactive approach to resident engagement, activity planning, and staff development while working a variety of shifts, including weekends and late shifts.

The candidate will be required to work across two sites in Leeds.

Key Responsibilities

Staff Support & Rota Management

• Assist the AP Manager in organising and ensuring appropriate rota coverage, including managing last-minute changes.
• Provide day-to-day support to support staff, ensuring clear communication and guidance.
• Disseminate relevant information to staff to ensure smooth service operation.
• Support AP manager to develop good practice across the teams.

Training & Development

• Ensure new team members receive appropriate induction and training.
• Deliver training sessions, including First Aid and other relevant development opportunities.

• Co-ordinate the submission of Enabling Environments on-going award process.
• Support the AP manager in preparing for HMIP Inspections.

Meetings & Partnership Working

• Attend and contribute to Equality, Inclusion, and Diversity (EID) meetings and other relevant meetings as required by the AP Manager, within the MOJ
• Liaise with partner organisations, building and maintaining strong links with the local community to enhance support services.

Resident Engagement & Activities

• Liaise with the AP Manager and Activities co-ordinators to ensure a full calendar of activities is available for residents, promoting engagement and rehabilitation.
• Manage the activity calendar, coordinating and overseeing planned events and programmes.

Shift & Working Hours

• Work a variety of shifts to support service needs, including two weekend days per month and four late shifts per month.
• Provide hands-on support within the AP, ensuring a visible leadership presence.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria:

• Experience working within a criminal justice, supported housing or rehabilitation setting.
• Previous experience in a leadership or senior role within a similar setting.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to build effective partnerships with external organisations and community groups.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage staff and residents effectively.
• A flexible and adaptable approach to shift work, including weekends and late shifts.

Rural Housing & Infrastructure Enabler

An exciting opportunity for a motivated and community-focused Rural Housing & Infrastructure Enabler to champion rural affordable housing and infrastructure development across Hertfordshire.

Job Description: Training and Events Officer

The Training and Events Officer will play a key role developing and delivering high quality professional development, training, events, workshops to SLA members and wider audiences. The postholder will develop inspirational, insightful and innovative routes to supporting SLA members to deliver on their school library provision remit, enabling children and young people to reach their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about school libraries, education and training.

You will work with the CEO, SLA colleagues and key stakeholders to develop and deliver a comprehensive training offer, including leading on logistics planning and delivery of our flagship annual conference. In addition, you will develop and maintain a calendar of exciting events and opportunities to share knowledge and insight, working with colleagues to ensure the offer is timely and informative. A confident facilitator and coordinator, you will be comfortable leading on training delivery, or recruiting and working with external facilitators in order to achieve specific outcomes.  Creative, with a flair for spotting opportunities for professional development, you will have a keen eye for detail and an ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines. Resource creation will be second-nature to you and you’ll be comfortable writing for adults and children, and young people.

Duties include:

• Logistics planning and delivery of the flagship event, SLA Annual Conference (currently called the Weekend Course) providing high quality professional development and networking opportunities to members 
• With CEO and key stakeholders, supporting the development of a comprehensive, engaging and exciting conference programme and recruit 40 exhibitors, plus event speakers as needed
• Supporting development of the training strategy working with the CEO to define aims and objectives
• Developing and maintaining a calendar of training, workshops and events aligned with the training strategy, working with the CEO and SLA colleagues, in particular the Outreach Support Officer
• Creation of supporting resources, toolkits and lesson plans to increase training engagement and impact

• Delivering and facilitating inspirational and engaging training and events as required (online and in person)

• Developing relationships with partners to produce high quality webinars, training and online events – including SLA members, funders, external stakeholders
• Exploring and evaluating business and funded models for training and events to ensure an income stream
• Working with external facilitators, recruiting them as needed, to deliver training and workshops, ensuring delivery is aligned with SLA requirements and outcomes
• Managing all training and events administration, planning and logistics

• Working with the Marketing and Communications Officer and Sales and Membership Officer, to ensure effective communication and promotion of training and events, providing timely information and updates as needed 
• Monitoring and evaluation of all training and events to ensure a high-quality offer, reach and impact that delivers on the SLA’s mission, applying learnings as needed

All team members contribute to office admin, maintaining member data and general office support.

To be successful in this role you should ideally demonstrate:

· experience of working in school libraries, the education sector and a strong understanding of the education landscape

· experience developing and delivering inspirational training, to small and large groups, both online and in person

· understanding of what works (and what doesn’t) for different formats and types of training and using evaluation to establish impact

· experience creating training resources, toolkits and teaching and learning resources

· a clear understanding of the curriculum and teaching and learning outcomes

· confidence in developing relationships with a variety of stakeholders

· an ability to manage own workload, prioritise and meet competing deadlines

An understanding of business models in relation to training will be an advantage, as will experience planning events. Building relationships with all stakeholders will be an important part of this role.

The salary for this position is £21,945.95 (FTE £29,000) for 28 hours per week, and comes with a 6% employer pension contribution.

The International Organization for Migration in the UK (IOM UK) delivers a range of programming to support migrants, both in the UK and internationally, including projects focusing on protection, modern slavery and human trafficking, diaspora engagement, migration and development, and provision of immigration advice.

This position will support IOM’s work under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, in coordination with the Programme Coordinator, and the overall guidance of the Chief of Mission of IOM UK. Working in close coordination with relevant country offices, units at our HQ in Geneva, Regional Office in Brussels and unit heads at the IOM London, the incumbent will assist in the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of relevant migrant support projects managed by IOM London, in particular related to the voluntary return and reintegration of survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking in the UK. The incumbent will also liaise with external stakeholders on matters related to communications, project development and reporting as well as may represent IOM in external forums and meetings.

Responsabilities:

1. Support the implementation of an IOM project which is improving the capacities of UK support providers who assist survivors of modern slavery with voluntary return or repatriation to their countries of origin.
2. Assist with the implementation of the operational activities of the relevant projects, including the organisation of project events, project research, implementation of communications activities, and outreach to project stakeholders including government counterparts, diaspora, private sector, civil society and the UN.
3. Assist with the timely preparation and submission of all project donor reports (both narrative and financial).
4. Maintain close communication with the relevant IOM country offices (especially Albania, Brazil, China, India, Pakistan, Romania and Viet Nam) to collate and verify that data sent from the missions regarding the project is of high quality and in accordance with the donor’s requirements
5. Work closely with and support the development of partnerships between IOM and organisations working with survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking in the UK, as well as related organisations such as diaspora and community organisations.
6. Assist with IOM UK’s coordination with the UK Government and other UK based stakeholders in the field of migration and modern slavery.
7. Assist the IOM Team in the UK to expand its projects and partnerships in the field of migration, protection, and modern slavery and human trafficking,  including through project development support and research activities. 
8. Provide administrative support to the team, ensuring project documents and information are appropriately filed and processed within IOM internal systems.
9. Perform other such duties as may be assigned.

• Work in partnership with key staff across the SU Movement to build, maintain and develop our relationship with churches, ensuring they are well resourced for mission to the 95, and encouraging their support of Scripture Union through prayer, financial giving and volunteering.
• Engaging with existing church contacts to grow and develop those relationships.
• Developing a strong offering of speaker visits, and associated video and print resources to ensure a good experience for churches.
• Implementing a strategy for mobilising church giving, and individual giving through churches.
• Working with the Mission Enablers to develop a language around the financial costs of Revealing Jesus and ways in which churches can support the work, while also accessing the resource and training provisions.
• Maintaining good records of church contacts and activities in the Dynamics365 database.
• Manage and acknowledge donations from churches in line with our thanking procedures.

Your new role

• To manage the services, resources and operations of the Library, ensuring the efficient and professional delivery of innovative and customer-focused library and information services to staff and students.
• Provide day-to-day management and effective leadership of the Library team, undertaking the full range of management responsibilities, ensuring their effective working against institutional priorities. This includes managing performance, conducting annual performance and development reviews, identifying training and development needs, workforce and succession planning, staff recruitment and induction.
• Work with academic staff and students to develop a comprehensive understanding of resource demands and ensure that resources and collections meet the learning and research needs of the institution.
• To work with the Head of Academic Operations in the development of a strategy for the library reflecting the vision of the Institution.
• In collaboration with the Head of Academic Operations set and monitor service standards and foster a professional environment of continual improvement, customer service focus and inclusivity across the team, delivering and embedding change where required.

• Manage the physical and digital library spaces, ensuring they provide effective learning environments to support stakeholder needs and to work with the Head of Academic Operations, identifying priorities and costs for the ongoing innovative development of these spaces and resources.
• Manage specialist archives and collections.
• Ensure the library team maintains the spaces consistently to a safe and professional standard.
• Proactively work with key stakeholders internally and externally to ensure effective service delivery.
• Review, revise and implement relevant processes, procedures, policies and supporting documentation, ensuring that they reflect best practice and regulatory changes.
• Effectively manage delegated budgets and resources, including budget forecasting, and ensuring resources are cost-efficient and used effectively to deliver value for money.
  Ensure that new and existing resources are fully utilised to deliver maximum benefits for students, staff and external stakeholders.
• To monitor new and emerging library and information management developments and legislation, identifying their impact and making recommendations to take advantage of them or reduce their risk in the university's activities.
• Represent the institution within appropriate forums such as SCONUL and the M25 Consortium of Academic Libraries.
