About the role

As Finance Officer (Payments and Payroll), you will support the Finance team in delivering accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations across the organisation. The role focuses on managing payments, maintaining financial records, and supporting payroll for our Brussels and US offices as well as regular consultants. You will process day-to-day financial transactions across multiple currencies, including supplier invoices, staff expenses, credit cards, and bank transactions, while responding to payment queries and ensuring high standards of record keeping.

You will also support balance sheet processes such as depreciation and prepayments, contribute to monthly and annual financial reporting, and assist with audits and donor reviews. Working closely with colleagues across Finance, Operations, Fundraising, and Budget Holders, as well as external partners such as auditors, banks, and payroll providers, you will help maintain strong financial controls and support the smooth running of financial systems in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

About you

You are an organised and detail-focused finance professional with experience in payments and payroll, and a solid understanding of accounting principles. You are confident working with financial systems and Excel, comfortable handling sensitive and confidential information, and able to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines.

You enjoy working collaboratively and communicate clearly with colleagues at all levels. You are flexible, adaptable, and remain calm under pressure, responding positively to change. You bring strong analytical skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to accuracy in everything you do.

About the role

Sightsavers are seeking an experienced Project Coordinator to be responsible for the programmatic management and implementation/delivery of the Morbidity Management and Disability Prevention (MMDP) and Disease Management and Disability Inclusion (DMDI) targets under the Reaching the Last Mile (RLM) MMDP ELMA/EFLA (Eliminating LF in Africa) DMDI projects in Uganda.

As the Project Coordinator MMDP you will deliver the programme targets and work closely with the Ministry of Health NTD Program to help with impact assessment and advocacy for the elimination of Lymphatic Filariasis in Uganda and health system strengthening. You will also identify and contribute to programme growth and development in collaboration with partners and colleagues.

Further responsibilities include:

Strategic Programme Planning and Development

• Participate in strategic planning processes to successfully drive the direction and delivery of cost-effective services for MMDP and ensure the objectives under RLM ELMA/ELFA are met and contribute to the national policies and elimination goals in Uganda.

• In collaboration with partners and Ministry of Health, help develop strategies to address the hydrocele and lymphoedema cases in Uganda as part of efforts towards elimination of NTDs in Uganda.

• Provide leadership and guidance to the programme to ensure that MMDP maps are available to help track and ensure that patients get counselling and treatment/surgeries.

• Deliver on Facility assessments - Hydrocele Facility Assessment (HFAT) and Lymphedema Facility Assessment (LFAT).

• Support patient estimation and uptake using WHO recommend approaches for patients' identification.

• Coordinate the planning, budgeting, progress tracking of both plan and budget and reporting of RLM ELMA/ELFA MMDP activities in Uganda.

Programme Management

• Provide effective management, coordination, technical advice and resource allocation necessary to support delivery of MMDP/DMDI (hydrocoele and lymphoedema) under RLM ELMA/ELFA funding.

• Support NGO partners to establish and maintain effective relationships with the Ministry of Health and other partners in order to advance sustainable national plans and integrate them into the existing public health delivery systems.

• Support implementation of Social and Behaviour Change Initiatives for Lymphedema and Hydrocele Management in Uganda.

• Oversee the surgical and self-care supply aspect of the MMDP through surgical supply of Filaricele Anatomical Surgical Task Trainer (FASTT) materials, provision of FASTT Training Package, washing kit for lymphoedema management (using lymphoedema calculator).

• Provide support for surgical delivery of hydrocoele and lymphoedema MMDP/DMDI from provision of management and surgery to case reporting, supervision and post-surgical data review and analysis.

Monitoring and Evaluation

• Lead on supporting each implementing partner in developing a system for

monitoring and evaluating programme performance.

• Provide direction and support to assist country research teams and help them to identify operational research opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of NTD elimination efforts.

Advocacy and Strategic Alliances

• Build and maintain meaningful working relationships with a variety of partners and other stakeholders at national level to strengthen opportunities for advocacy and higher visibility.

• Ensure programme information flow is maintained across the Sightsavers’ country teams and directorates, the Ministries of Health and other key partners.

Skills and Experience

As the successful candidate you will have experience, and/or a post graduate degree, in Public Health, Medical/Biological/Social Sciences or related disciplines, and have extensive experience on strategic programme development. We are also keen for the post holder to have a wealth of experience in programme/ project management in an INGO environment.

Further requirements include:

• Technical knowledge on Lymphatic Filariasis and any other Preventive Chemotherapy NTDs in Uganda.

• Experience of managing and community-based health interventions.

• A demonstrated record of accomplishment in developing and managing public health programmes.

• Understanding of the health system in Uganda.

• Experience of monitoring and evaluation (including ability to conduct and supervise impact assessment in one or more of the five PC NTDs).

About this role

SPANA is investing in its Grants and Compliance function to strengthen financial oversight and accountability across its global partnerships. The Grants and Compliance team plays a critical role in safeguarding resources, supporting partners and ensuring compliance with donor requirements and SPANA’s internal policies. The team works closely with colleagues across departments and with partner organisations to deliver impactful programmes for the welfare of working animals worldwide.
Reporting to the Grants Compliance Manager, the Grants Finance Officer is a key role within this function. The position ensures robust financial management of grants and partner funding by reviewing financial reports, conducting compliance checks and supporting partners with capacity building. The role also maintains accurate grant records, assists with due diligence and contributes to risk assessments and audit processes. By providing clear financial support and guidance, the Grants Finance Officer helps SPANA and its partners meet donor expectations and strengthen accountability, ultimately enabling better programme delivery and impact.

Contract, location and salary

This is a UK based, permanent, full-time (34.5 hours per week) role, and current right to work in the UK is required. This is a hybrid position with regular attendance (1-2 days per month or more if preferred) in our London office. 

The salary for this position is c.£34,000 per annum subject to skills and experience.

We are looking for a highly organised, experienced and exceptional administrator to work as a trusted partner to The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Church Development Agency (CDA). The CDA is a national organisation dedicated to supporting the Church in serving its communities through the delivery of affordable housing and community development projects, established in response to the Church of England’s “Coming Home” report.  

This key role within the CDA requires a thinker who can anticipate needs, manage priorities, and support The CEO in his leadership function and ensuring effective governance. The Executive Assistant (EA) will play a pivotal role in enabling the CEO to oversee a diverse portfolio of approximately 50 affordable housing projects. Most of the work is funded by the Oak Foundation, with a focus on achieving long-term sustainability.

The ideal candidate will have:

· Demonstrable experience of working as a high-level EA support to a CEO/Senior leader or equivalent

· Excellent time management and the ability to balance numerous priorities and deadlines

· A high degree of confidentiality and flexibility

The Human Resources department provides a strategic and operational HR service to the seven National Church Institutions (NCIs) and the 42 Diocesan Bishops' offices. Our HR Operations team focusses on the entire employee lifecycle providing support, advice and guidance to senior leaders, line managers and staff. The Organisational Development team lead on culture, values, wellbeing, development, and our belonging & inclusion strategy. Through our External Service team, we also offer HR support on a consultancy basis to other Church of England organisations including our dioceses and cathedrals.

We are a friendly, diverse, well respected, and highly engaged HR team who are committed to actively sharing knowledge and learning across the team and beyond. We encourage flexible working within the team, with hybrid working meaning we work from the office 1 day per week on average. We also regularly meet together online and in-person for collaboration, knowledge-sharing and building relationships within the team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a keen interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources to study a CIPD qualification whilst working in an HR role on a fixed-term basis for 18 months. Working as part of our HR Operations team, you will be involved in providing an outstanding proactive and professional HR service to staff and managers across the National Church Institutions, and other organisations within the Church of England.

In this role, you will be the day-to-day HR contact for NCI Staff, supporting both the HR Operations Manager and HR Business Partners. You will be required to meet staff and be a visible HR presence in our London Office.

Undertake and complete a Level 3 CIPD HR Apprenticeship and apply learnings and best practice to the role. You will be mentored by a member of the HR team and support will be offered to fulfil the requirements of the Apprenticeship scheme.

• You will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail, including working with numerical data.
• You will have an enthusiastic, flexible, and highly organised approach to work, with the ability to understand and process high volumes of information.
• You will need experience of using Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel in a work-based context, as well as HR Information Systems (ideally Oracle HCM). SharePoint experience would also be an advantage.
• This role will require the postholder to work from our London office in Westminster London once a week on average (currently Wednesdays).
• This is a fixed-term contract for 18 months.

To meet the apprenticeship entry requirements, you will need to have:

• Academic ability to meet the entry requirements of the Level 3 apprentice course attached to this apprenticeship and to attend and undertake the studying and course work required to complete the course.
• Educated to at least GCSE standard, with GCSE grade 4/C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent) or ability to work towards level 2 Maths and English/GCSE 4/C grade.
