About this key role
The main focus for our successful candidate will be to oversee the effective development and delivery of all aspects of the service, including coordinating rescues, developing and maintaining processes around rescue and other referrals, monitoring, rota systems, producing reports and providing daily support to the team.  As well as providing effective line management of the team, we will rely on you to provide advice, guidance and support to staff on safeguarding matters as well as ensuring robust risk assessments and strengths-based needs assessments are completed with safeguarding as the priority.

Developing and maintaining relationships with VESS partners and other internal and external stakeholders and further expanding the service through continued promotion of the service to partners and external services is a key element of this role, as is supporting the team to effectively manage caseloads and completing comprehensive risk and needs assessments for young people accessing the service.

What we are looking for

• Extensive experience of addressing safeguarding issues and managing risk with children, young people and adults who are experiencing of violence or exploitation and supporting teams to do the same
• Substantial experience in working in a leadership role as part of a multi-agency team to deliver a service and achieve positive outcomes for young people
•  A thorough understanding of the physical, social, emotional and developmental needs of children and young people
• Sound knowledge of the issues faced by young people such as exploitation, victimisation, offending, school exclusion, unemployment, trauma
• Relevant qualification in youth work, social work, social sciences, education or another relevant field or demonstrable equivalent experience
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal

The NGSN London Regional Board brings together partner organisations to enhance collaboration, service delivery, treatment, and understanding around gambling harm within the London Region.

The Board has a joint vision to build a strategic approach to raise awareness and provide education and treatment around gambling-related harm. The Board is chaired by Betknowmore UK’s Founder & CEO Frankie. 

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead our stakeholder engagement initiatives with local authorities across London. This critical role will drive forward the board's vision by building strong relationships with key stakeholders and ensuring effective collaboration between local authorities, public health services, and NGSN partners. By positioning gambling harm as a public health issue, we aim to embed harm reduction within broader health systems, ensuring improved access to support and care across London.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering the charity’s mass participation products, including the flagship event, Time for a Cuppa, while also leading in developing and launching new products to meet supporter engagement and income targets.

Reporting to the Senior Mass Participation Manager, you will contribute to shaping an effective mass participation strategy and implementing detailed operational plans to manage, diversify and grow the programme. A core part of the role involves planning and delivering compelling marketing strategies that increase supporter numbers, generate income and provide exceptional supporter experiences to maximise fundraising potential. There will also be a focus on identifying opportunities to expand the programme and improve internal processes and efficiencies.

Close collaboration with the Fundraising Innovation Lead will be essential to ensure innovation processes underpin the development of new initiatives. The role also involves negotiating contracts with external agencies and suppliers to secure best value for the charity and ensuring agreed outputs are delivered.

To succeed in this role, you will have a strong track record of managing mass participation fundraising events that deliver income growth. Experience in developing and implementing mass product strategies, managing budgets, reporting on KPIs ,variances and reforecasting is also required. A solid understanding of supporter needs and the ability to use audience insight to shape effective communication and stewardship approaches is vital. Proficiency in using a fundraising relationship database to support, inform and report on activity will be essential.

The Role

This is an exciting role joining a Programme Team of 15 staff based throughout the UK. You will work closely and collaborate with the other Network Managers and share some priorities across regions, working to develop the region as a whole. The purpose of this role is to facilitate good relationships between the mentors and mentees in the region. 70-80% of the role is about relationship building (with schools, mentors and partners), coordination and the tracking/ administration of those relationships. 15-20% of the role is direct delivery with the girls in the region.

Mentoring programme

• Manage overall success of the cohorts (groups of mentees and mentors) in your region, including coordinating and administering events and communications for cohorts in your area.
• Deliver engaging on-boarding sessions for mentees.
• Design and deliver events and workshops for mentees.
• Deliver matching of mentees and mentors at in-person events or virtually.
• Work with the wider programme team to train mentors.
• Support mentors once matched through regular check-ins, monthly emails and ad-hoc conversations.
• Collect data to track the progress, and impact of, mentoring relationships.
• Support mentors with safeguarding concerns, following The Girls’ Network process in line with our child protection policy.
• Develop effective relationships with schools, on-boarding, supporting and retaining the partnerships.

Partnerships

• Work with the Senior Network Manager in your area to identify professional partnerships and sponsorship with local and national businesses.
• Work with your Senior Network Manager to identify a recruitment and retention plan for your area including key partners to work with.
• Be an active presence in the community, attending events and networks to encourage local women to mentor on our programme.

The Girls’ Network reputation and network

• Advocate The Girls’ Network at every opportunity, through local media, PR activities and social media.
• Identify opportunities to build the reputation of The Girls’ Network in your region and through events and networking.
• Report significant successes and achievements to relevant staff members.

Ongoing success of The Girls’ Network

• Work with the Programme Team to identify key areas for programme development.
• Opportunities to get involved in programme and wider organisational projects.
• Understand the development of school initiatives nationally and in your region, and understand their impact and implications for The Girls’ Network programmes.
• Attend programme and whole team meetings and team days.
• Maintain and champion a girls-centred way of working.

Other duties

As a small charity with limited resources, all staff are expected to be flexible with their work and as such you may be required to undertake other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time.

About the opportunity

This is an exciting time to join the Audience Insight team, part of the Brand and Communications function within the Income and Engagement directorate. Since the relaunch of our brand, Alzheimer’s Society has gone from strength to strength using audience insight to inform strategic decisions at the highest level of the organisation.
The scope of our work is wide-ranging. We lead on market research projects across the Society, supporting not just Income and Engagement, but also Research, Influencing, and Services. One day you might be supporting a local services initiative, the next you could be testing advertising and communications, and the next collaborating on the UK’s largest research study involving people affected by dementia.

Over the past year, we’ve delivered a diverse mix of qualitative and quantitative projects, both internally and through external agencies. We use cutting-edge techniques, including neuroscience and behavioural science, to generate impactful insights that drive change across the charity.

You’ll be joining a team of three dedicated market research professionals and will have line management responsibilities.

About you
You will:

- Have a minimum of 7 years’ experience in market research, either client side or agency side
- Bring proven line management experience
- Demonstrate strong qualitative and quantitative research expertise, including moderating focus groups
- Be a strategic thinker, confident in presenting insights and recommendations to board-level stakeholders

Senior Audience Insight Manager

Do you have experience in health or research policy development and advocacy? Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity are hiring a Head of Policy to develop our first ever policy and advocacy function. As Head of policy, you will be a key spokesperson for the charity and will ensure that we are using our brand and our voice to advocate for the needs of seriously ill children and their families at Great Ormond Street Hospital and beyond.  

Salary

The salary for this position is £72,000 per annum and we operate a hybrid working policy of a minimum of 2 days in the office per week.

Key Responsibilities

This is a varied position where you’ll be responsible for:

Strategic policy leadership 

• Developing and implementing a comprehensive policy agenda, in line with our high level strategy for advocacy. 
• Overseeing the development of position papers, key policy messaging and response to government consultations.

Creating and leading a team
