BACKGROUND

Ashiana is a ‘by and for’ women's led BME VAWG service with 30 years’ experience in delivering a holistic range of specialist services to South Asian, Turkish and Middle Eastern women affected by VAWG.

OUR SERVICES

Ashiana runs three refuges with a total of 29 bedspaces; specifically for women aged 16-35 fleeing forced marriage. This multi award winning project is the only service of its kind in the UK and is highly innovative in terms of addressing an area of significant need not met in other refuge provision. Within these refuges we designate a number of bedspaces for women with no recourse to public funds. We offer an advice and support service to women and girls who are experiencing VAWG, enabling them to make informed decisions and exit violent relationships. We provide a legal service supporting women with no recourse to public funds to help resolve their immigration status.

Counselling is offered for women and girls affected by VAWG. The counselling service works from an integrative stance, with the focus of providing a holistic service whereby we also work alongside other services and provide specialist domestic violence group work. The emphasis of therapeutic work with our clients is from a trauma informed model.

We also deliver an education programme for young people in secondary schools in East London aimed at preventing domestic violence and enabling young people experiencing domestic violence to access appropriate services. The prevention service includes delivering a whole school approach in schools to young people as well as group work to women and girls across North East London boroughs as well as community engagement activities and delivery. We deliver a range of awareness raising workshops for young people in the community and training on domestic violence for professionals in the voluntary and statutory sector.

PRIMARY TASK

The post is instrumental in overseeing the delivery of a comprehensive package of services and care for women in our refuges. To provide a safe environment and a service that is appropriate to the needs of young BME women particularly those from South Asian, Turkish and Middle Eastern communities and to support ex-clients following resettlement.

The post holder will have a caseload of clients and be responsible for providing advice, advocacy, casework and support to women and girls, advocating on behalf of these women and making others aware of their particular needs. The post-holder is required to demonstrate sensitivity and an awareness of the culture and needs of  minoritised communities in all aspects of their duties and responsibilities.

We are looking for a passionate and ambitious Head of Fundraising to lead and grow our voluntary income. Your focus will span the full range of fundraising activities, from statutory and trust funding to developing and increasing income across major donor giving, legacies, corporate partnerships, and individual giving.

As Head of Fundraising, you will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to increase philanthropic support and voluntary income. You’ll lead our efforts to diversify and grow income streams – securing support from individuals, corporates, and other partners – with a focus on innovation, sustainability, and long-term impact. You’ll be part of an organisation where you can see the direct effect of your work on the services we deliver to keep children safe.

You will lead and support a small team, bring fresh thinking and strong relationship-building skills, and work closely with project leads to ensure our funding reflects real needs and delivers real impact. You will be able to combine strategic and commercial awareness, with hands-on delivery.

This role will give you the opportunity and responsibility to build on our successful fundraising and extend our appeal to new donors as well as maintain our existing supporters. You will need demonstrable fundraising experience and the ability to work confidently as a strategic thinker as well as a practical fundraiser. You will come with strong ideas and skills to implement them.

About the Role

Global Canopy is seeking a motivated and adaptable Research Associate to join our growing NRF team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong research foundation in nature-related finance who is looking to build experience across a range of areas including technical analysis, engagement, and capacity-building.

As a Research Associate, you will work across multiple projects aimed at helping shift global financial flows away from nature-negative outcomes toward nature-positive ones. In this role you will:

• contribute to capacity-building initiatives that help financial institutions apply tools like ENCORE in real-world settings
• support the design and delivery of research that underpins practical tools and insights that incentivise market participants to account for nature-related risks (for example, integrating nature into financial products and services, designing transition pathways, improving the understanding and pricing of nature-related risks.)
• translate complex, technical content on nature-related finance into formats that are clear and actionable for non-specialist audiences

An initial core responsibility in this role is to support the delivery of capacity-building activities on the ENCORE tool in Colombia, Indonesia, South Africa, and Peru. This includes working closely with in-country consultants to provide technical and operational support, adapt materials to local contexts, and ensure effective implementation on the ground.
This role will report into the NRF deputy director, and will also involve supporting the NRF deputy director in her role within the ENCORE partnership and associated fundraising activities.

Responsibilities

This role will report into and support the NRF deputy-director and work across a range of NRF projects, including the ENCORE tool.

• Responsibility for the delivery of the capacity-building components in the SECO-funded ENCORE project
• Supervise consultants/suppliers and/or manage relationships with partners who are collaborating on engagement and capacity building activities that help mainstream the use of nature-related financial tools and frameworks
• Develop and curate training materials for example to assist financial institutions in applying ENCORE
• Work closely with the Education and Learning Team in GC to translate technical content into learning offerings
• Explore and develop engagement partnerships on with various stakeholders such as scientific institutions, other IGOs and NGOs. Manage and contribute to governance of these partnerships
• Work with Global Canopy Communications team to ensure that materials for Global Canopy are aligned with organisational approaches to messaging and tone of voice
• Work with Global Canopy Senior Designer to ensure that visual assets and all materials for Global Canopy align with the organisation’s brand identity as needed
• Responsible for designing, leading and preparation of research focusing on key nature-related finance issues
• Ensure highest quality of research outputs and be part of the research teams
• Lead research partnerships on nature-related financial risks with leading scientific institutions. This will include designing governance structures of the research to include market participants as a tester community, advisory committee, or other most appropriate ways to crowd-in practice and test outputs
• Actively contribute to identification of funding opportunities and models (grants, corporate sponsorships etc.) to finance future research work
• Input into development of Global Canopy’s overall strategy and the NRF specific strategy based on area of research
• Support the NRF deputy director in her role within the ENCORE partnership by coordinating partner engagement across key areas. This will include preparation of materials prior to meetings with partners – for example, preparing materials for the ENCORE governance committee or supporting in

• Demonstrated ability to translate complex topics into engaging content and practical tools
• Experience developing knowledge products and/or learning materials for non-specialist audiences
• Adept at ensuring the reliability of content through thorough fact-checking, a focus on accuracy, and consistent application of referencing to ensure integrity and credibility of all content
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable:

• Research experience in risk quantification is an advantage
• Familiarity with the nexus between human rights and nature-related issues
• Experience from consulting or from a sustainability department in a company or as an ESG analyst in a financial institution
• Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese or French

Salary: £29,000-35,000 full-time equivalent (This role sits within Band E on Global Canopy’s remuneration framework)

Nature of contract: Part-time (0.8 FTE), fixed-term (18 months). We are a flexible employer and welcome candidates wishing to work flexibly.

About the role

You’ll provide expert technical support and guidance on a variety of software and hardware used at Parkinson’s UK, working as a key member of the Technology Services Team.

This is a hands-on role based in Nigeria for six months, designed for someone who wants to work closely in implementation, influence strategy, and get deep into the mechanics of how impact happens. We see this as a first step toward a long-term role at Lafiya, with the fellowship designed as a pathway into a permanent, full-time, in-country or remote M&E Specialist position. We plan to determine the compensation for that role once the fellowship concludes, and it will be informed by your contributions to Lafiya during the fellowship and other factors. 

You’ll have real ownership from the start. You will help us design our end-to-end evaluation strategy, test and refine it as we grow, and generate insights that shape both daily decisions and long-term direction. You’ll work closely with and be supported by senior leadership, contribute to programme design, and build systems that help us learn faster and stay accountable to our goals. 

This is not a desk-bound research role. You’ll spend time where the work happens, strengthening the practical side of monitoring, troubleshooting what isn’t working, and building confidence across the team to use data well.

Field immersion is critical to succeeding in the long-term role, which is why this initial placement is in person. For those relocating from outside Nigeria, Lafiya will cover the cost of a return flight, visa, vaccinations, travel insurance and accommodation. What You’ll Do

• Help us overhaul and strengthen how we collect, track, and use data – from making sure our monitoring tools are practical and our indicators measure the right thing, to fixing messy pipelines and leveling up our dashboards from good to great.
• Spot gaps in data quality, figure out what’s going wrong, and implement fixes that are fast, useful, and stick.
• Design and run internal evaluations, anything from a quick A/B test to a more structured quasi-experiment, that help us learn, adapt, and improve how we work.
• Synthesise and share findings clearly so they feed directly into operational decisions. We care more about honest insights than perfect answers.
• Work closely with field and programme staff to build comfort and confidence using data. You’ll be training people, co-analysing results, and helping make sense of it all.
• Help shape new programmes by building out indicators, setting baselines, and making sure our theories of change actually reflect how things work on the ground.
• Turn data into action: create sharp, accessible briefs and visuals; host workshops or reviews where teams genuinely learn; write up findings that aren’t just reports but tools for change.
• Keep us sharp. Help make sure we’re measuring the stuff that really matters, asking the right questions, and staying focused on what evidence can actually tell us.

Who You Are

We care less about years of experience and more about how you think. You don’t need to tick every box. We’re looking for someone who’s curious, rigorous, and ready to dive in.

We’re looking for someone who can design and lead Lafiya’s overall evaluation strategy, not just execute technical tasks. You should be comfortable zooming out to ask whether we’re measuring the right things, as well as diving deep into implementation.

You’re someone who:

• Cares deeply about making a real-world difference and sees evaluation as a tool for improvement, not just accountability.
• Thinks critically about what’s worth measuring, how we measure it, and why it matters, not just how to run the numbers.
• Has experience or strong instincts in designing M&E systems and tools (e.g. theories of change, sampling plans) that are practical and help programmes learn and adapt.
• Knows how to design rigorous evaluations, including randomised experiments, and is comfortable balancing methodological integrity with operational realities.
• Can work with both qualitative and quantitative data. You might have run A/B tests, quasi-experiments, facilitated focus groups, built sampling plans, or developed theories of change. You know how to match methods to questions.
• Spots noise and bias in data, and knows how to clean, challenge, or adjust it without making things more complicated than they need to be.
• Has used tools like SurveyCTO, CommCare, Stata, R, or Google Sheets, and is happy learning new ones when needed. Maybe you've built a dashboard or set up a useful data workflow. Maybe you're just quick to figure things out.
• Communicates clearly in writing and conversation, whether you’re sharing a short visual brief or a detailed report. You know how to speak to field teams, decision-makers, and funders without losing meaning.
• Works well with others, stays humble, and is driven by learning. You like taking initiative and aren’t afraid to ask questions. You’re comfortable saying when you don’t know something and enjoy figuring it out.

A Master’s degree in a relevant field (public health, economics, evaluation, data science, or social sciences) is helpful but not required. What matters is that you bring strong foundations, an eagerness to learn, and a drive to use evidence to improve access to contraception – especially if you’re looking for a role where you can take real ownership and shape how things work on the ground.

Brief role description:

The Fundraising Officer plays an integral role supporting the Fundraising team at the Forces Employment Charity (FEC).

As part of the Marketing, Communication and Fundraising Directorate, and led by the Head of Fundraising and Development, you will research and identify new funding opportunities and support their conversion into long-term relationships. You will be supported by senior members of the fundraising team to create and write high-quality proposals to secure funding, and stewardship reports to demonstrate impact and outcomes to our funders.​

As the Head of Intercultural Engagement, you will be responsible for leading the Intercultural Engagement strand of UCL’s Student Life Strategy.
