Panel of Examiners Officer

Permanent | Full time 34.5 hour week

£22,000 - £26,000 pa subject to skills and experience, plus benefits


The Royal Academy of Dance is a dynamic organisation dedicated to advancing standards of dance education – teaching, promoting and investing in the development of dance worldwide. The RAD will be moving to a new venue at 188 York Road, London SW11 3JZ in the final quarter of 2021.  The RAD is currently located at 36 Battersea Square, London SW11 3RA. This is a hugely exciting opportunity to join the RAD at this stage in our strategic plan.  As a recognised awarding organisation, we offer a range of examinations and awards to approximately 250,000 candidates each year.

We have a vacancy for the Panel of Examiners Officer who will be responsible for assisting the Panel of Examiners Manager with the administration relating to the RAD’s international panel of over 200 examiners. This role will assist with the new examiner recruitment and training programmes, the standardisation of examiners, the allocation of filmed examinations work and the ongoing support of its’ examiners, who are key ambassadors for the Academy.

You will report to the Panel of Examiners Manager and work closely with other key members of the examinations team. You will assist on a variety of projects relating to the Panel of Examiners, so the ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines is imperative.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is highly organised, efficient and detail-orientated. You will have proven experience of working in an administrative role within an office environment (ideally in an examinations or awarding context), as well as excellent IT skills, problem solving skills and with all round first class communication skills in English.

With a real commitment to top quality customer service, you will have excellent interpersonal skills and confidence in dealing with enquires from internal and external contacts. Excellent organisational skills, together with the talent to multi-task, prioritise, remain calm under pressure, and see tasks through to completion whilst demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail will be needed. You will show sensitivity and understanding when dealing with a range of confidential matters.

Appointment to this post will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

With the implementation the new Marking App and examiner training programmes and seminars planned for 2022 and 2023, this is an exciting time to join the examinations department and support the panel of examiners in this officer role.

Permanent, Full Time, Monday to Friday (34.5 hours per week). Based at RAD headquarters, though home working possible at times.
