No Panic is a national charity at the frontline of accessible help for anxiety sufferers.
The No Panic Helpline is open 365 days a year between 10am and 10pm.
Those who call us can be struggling across a range of anxiety disorders: OCD; Panic Attacks; Phobias or General Anxiety Disorder.
We train our helpline volunteers to provide sufferers with all the information they need to begin the process of self-help recovery.
This is a remote volunteering opportunity where everything is done from home, including training, and there is never a need to attend elsewhere. This makes it the ideal opportunity for those with mobility or fitness issues.
Our volunteers work a 3-hour shift once a week.
Initial training is one evening a week for 8 weeks (for a small charge of £25 to cover costs), with backup support for the first 8 weeks on the helpline. There is continued support via bi-monthly support groups.

Volunteer Role: Trusts and Foundations
We were set up to transform the former Edward Hain hospital, in St Ives, Cornwall, into a community centre for health and wellbeing. The hospital was founded in 1920, with funds from the Cornish Hain Steamship Company. When it closed n 2021, our community, led by the hospital’s League of Friends, came together to save the building for the town. Now it brings together much needed health and wellbeing services, along with social, community and welfare support, all under one roof.
About the role
We are looking for volunteers to help us raise funds from Trusts and Foundations. Grants, such the one we secured from National Lottery, already help keep us open all year. Although previous experience in grant writing would be welcomed, it is absolutely not required. More important are your enthusiasm and desire to help local people. ideally, you will be able to volunteer at least one or two days a month on a regular basis and preferably have access to a computer.
What’s involved?
· Drafting and submitting funding applications with help and support from our team.
· Working with other volunteers and staff to identify new funding opportunities.
· Researching grant-making bodies, trusts, and foundations that can fund the Centre.
The role will suit you if you

About the Hummingbird Project
The Hummingbird Project supports young people from a refugee background, many of whom arrived in the UK as unaccompanied children. We also actively campaign for the rights and protection of young refugees at a local and national level. We are based in Brighton and we work across East and West Sussex.
Trustee recruitment
As part of our work, we acknowledge the importance of building a Board of Trustees that has lived experience of the issues that our young people face in the UK. We are looking for two new trustees to join us who have lived experience of the asylum process and of being a refugee.
The Board of Trustees guides the organisation, making sure its mission, vision and core principles are applied. The Board is responsible for the organisation’s strategy, operations, adherence to law and regulation and financial management.
This is an exciting opportunity to help lead the Hummingbird Project in the next phase of its development, and to use your skills and experience to make a lasting difference to the lives of the young people from a refugee background.
Commitment to the role
The Board of Trustees meets five times a year in a hybrid format, and we request a commitment to these meetings. Student Minds Trustees are expected to commit to the following:

Preparation and attendance at four board meetings a year. Board meetings are held online and take place on weekdays from 5 - 7.30 pm.

Preparation and attendance at two board away days each year, usually from 12.30 - 5 pm. Board away days are in person and usually take place in Leeds. Travel expenses can be claimed.

Ad-hoc meetings and conversations with the senior management team as required. This usually constitutes approximately a further five working days a year.
If appointed, you will receive the training and onboarding you need to be a confident, contributing member of the board. We are also able to provide you with a board buddy to support you in your first few months.

What will you be doing?
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to serve as a Trustee and the Treasurer of Trauma Aid UK. The Treasurer will be responsible for overseeing the financial management of the charity, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and advising the Board of Trustees on financial matters. The Trustee/Treasurer role is to support the financial stability and integrity of our organization. The Treasurer is required to be UK based and we request UK citizenship as the evidence of right to work in the UK. A DBS check will be required.
As a leading training provider since 2009, we work in partnership with local mental health professionals through training, supervision and advanced workshops to build a network of qualified and experienced therapists who can offer treatment and train others in evidence-based trauma therapy. We are currently working in Bosnia & Herzegovina and Arab Countries.
Time commitment : Approximately 9 meetings per year (every 5-6 weeks minus holidays periods and summer)
About 1 hour per month. Working from home but occasional in person Strategy meeting, typically annually and in London (next meeting is January 24th 2026).

Rainbow Line has been created to offer LGBTQIA+ people a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to talk, be heard, and feel supported.
The service is designed for individuals who may be feeling isolated, overwhelmed, or in need of someone to listen. While Rainbow Line is not a professional counselling, psychotherapy or crisis service, volunteers play a vital role in offering empathetic listening and, where appropriate, signposting callers to specialist services and organisations for further support. By volunteering with Rainbow Line, you’ll be helping to reduce isolation and create a more connected, supportive community.
What You’ll Be Doing

Service users will pre-book telephone appointments via our website.

You’ll answer pre-booked calls, providing a safe, non-judgemental space for users to talk openly and be heard, with signposting to other relevant services.

After each call, you’ll complete a short record noting topics that came up, and any safeguarding concerns.

Support U’s designated safeguarding leads will be available during service hours for any immediate advice or escalation.

Requirements

Based in or around Berkshire (desirable, but not essential)

Able to realistically commit to a minimum of 2-4 hours per week for the long term.

Basic administrative skills and strong communication and organisation skills.

Some experience in a similar line of work (e.g. counselling, mentoring, support work) or willingness to learn and undertake training.

Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Evidence of completed safeguarding training or willingness to complete safeguarding training organised by Support U.

Comfortable using basic technology to answer calls/log call notes.

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding best practice.
