Job description

For over 140 years, the Forces Employment Charity has proudly supported service leavers, veterans and their families in building successful civilian careers. We provide veterans with life-long, life-changing support, jobs and training opportunities regardless of circumstances, rank, length of service or reason for leaving.

By working for FEC, you will become part of a vibrant team living the Charity's values: Expert, Supportive, Passionate, Open and Honest, Resilient and Collaborative.

Brief role description

The role of the Employment Consultant is to maintain effective relationships with employers and partner organisations to secure employment, training and vocational opportunities for service leavers and veterans. The role provides tailored support, advice and guidance to individuals with young needs who are in resettlement, helping them achieve sustainable vocational outcomes and successful transitions into civilian employment.

Who we're looking for

We are looking for a highly organised and motivated individual who enjoys building relationships and making positive impact. You'll be a confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills, able to engage effectively with a wide range of people, including employers, stakeholders and individuals seeking support. You'll be comfortable managing a varied workload, working independently when needed, while also contributing as part of a collaborative and supportive team.

Ideally you'll have experience in employer engagement, recruitment, account management or employment support, along with an understanding of labour markets and employment opportunities. You'll be passionate about helping people overcome barriers to employment and confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Office and CRM or case management systems. A full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle and a willingness to travel are essential.
