Sitting in a high performing team of five the Workforce Development & Training Officers will work together to deliver all aspects of the team’s operational work which achieves the objective of growing the workforce in our specialties, clinical oncology and clinical radiology. In this broad role you will encompass supporting both trainees and their trainers through their programmes. You will be self-motivated, able to build your expertise in the relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks within which they operate and apply that expertise across a wide portfolio of activity. As new initiatives evolve and become business as usual, the work of operations will evolve.
What you’ll do:
- Provide tailored advice on all matters that might affect a trainee’s status and training time using expertise in the regulatory frameworks associated with specialty training in the UK.
- Proactively work with WDTO colleagues to ensure trainees and trainers are adequately supported.
- Review and prepare Portfolio Pathway applications for assessment by the specialist committee.
- Manage and deliver the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) recommendation process.
- Provide a timely, customer-focussed and responsive service.
What you’ll need:
- Detailed understanding (or the ability to rapidly acquire it) of UK legislation and GMC regulations and procedures in relation to entry to GMC registers and the right to work in the UK.
- Ability to understand, interpret and advise on legislation, external processes and complex documentation.

KEY TASKS, ROLES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide administrative support to the Director of Membership and Education and the wider department

· To work closely with the CEO and the rest of the GWT’s Senior Management Team in prioritising day-to-day activities. Whilst primarily focused on internal activities, the postholder will assist the CEO with external matters, deputising for the CEO as directed.

Staff reports: The Gardens team, Visitor Services team
Fullers Mill Garden is an enchanting and tranquil waterside and woodland garden, situated on the banks of the River Lark at West Stow in Suffolk. It combines a beautiful site of light dappled woodland with a fabulous collection of rare and unusual shrubs, perennials, lilies and marginal plants, collected over the course of 50 years by the creator of the garden, the late Bernard Tickner MBE.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead Fullers Mill Garden into its next chapter as a Perennial garden, maintaining and evolving a beautiful garden with a team of gardeners, volunteers and trainees – to give our garden loving visitors a magical experience on each visit. The garden is currently undergoing a process of proposed investment in its visitor infrastructure. The Garden Manager will be a key member of the project team.
Overall purpose
1. Through high standards of garden and landscape management and garden maintenance, ensure that the history, ecology, evolved design and artistic integrity of Fullers Mill and other grounds associated with the site are conserved and presented to an exemplary standard.
2. To recruit, train, manage and develop staff to achieve high standards of garden presentation and visitor satisfaction.
3. To build a culture that makes involvement in the garden a rewarding, rich and enjoyable experience for visitors, volunteers and staff.
4. To identify and develop opportunities for the promotion of the garden and the development of the visitor experience managing partnerships and relationships
Main responsibilities and duties
1. Management of gardens and landscape
a. To be responsible for the maintenance and management of the garden and its associated landscape within an approved budget.
b. To maintain high standards of garden and facilities presentation at all times.
c. Responsible for the day to day running of the garden and supervision of staff, volunteers and contractors to ensure that appropriate horticultural and service standards are maintained.
d. To oversee the management and delivery of educational, training and skills activities and events, utilising the facilities and buildings within the site.
e. To undertake the direct delivery of activities on selected topics relating to horticulture and the garden.
f. To contribute as a key member of the Perennial project team in the formulation and delivery of the plan for the long-term future of Fullers Mill garden and buildings.
g. To co-ordinate the Fullers Mill Garden Committee, establishing sound relationships with its members and utilising their knowledge and experience in maintaining and developing the garden.
2. Financial Management:
a. Work alongside the Commercial Development Director to manage allocated budgets, prepare and provide bids for capital expenditure and small projects associated with the site.

a. To be responsible for staff recruitment, training and development of competencies to deliver agreed maintenance and presentation standards and to be responsible for staff welfare, discipline and other employee issues in consultation with the organisations central support team.

a. To participate in the project team overseeing the creation of new visitor facilities and infrastructure;

Job Description
The Chartered College of Teaching is currently working on a number of exciting projects, and is recruiting a Teacher Development Specialist to support this work. This is a fixed term position which will focus on supporting the delivery of a key strand of our work relating to teacher and leadership development in the context of educational technology (EdTech) implementation. By joining our team as a Teacher Development Specialist, you’ll be helping us to support teachers, champion great teaching and raise the status of the profession.
The role will run until the end of October 2026 in the first instance.

The Teacher Development Specialist will play a key role in supporting our work around teacher and leadership development, and delivering one of our key projects focusing on understanding effective practice in relation to building expertise through collaboration. Drawing on their deep understanding of research, evidence and practice around teacher development, the Teacher Development Specialist will look to identify and build on existing practices and will seek to understand how as a profession we might encourage innovation and knowledge-sharing across the education sector. They will work with internal colleagues and wider stakeholders to understand how these practices might best apply to the field of Education Technology (EdTech).

About the role
Joining our dedicated team of nurses, you’ll support our helpline and Ask Our Nurses (AON).
The nursing team includes an associate director, senior clinical nurse specialists, clinical nurse specialists, and sessional nurses and trained helpline staff.

If so, you may be the Community Research & Engagement Associate we’re looking for.
We’re seeking a warm, organised, community-minded individual to support a growing programme of research, involvement, engagement and participation across Somerset’s voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) sector.
The role will support activity linked to Somerset’s Research Engagement Network (REN), Somerset Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) and wider research, partnership and engagement activity across Spark Somerset.
The postholder will play an important role in helping strengthen connections between communities, VCFSE organisations and research partners, ensuring community voices and experiences help shape future research and engagement activity.
You don’t need to come from a traditional academic research background – if you have an interest in research, participation and community engagement, and understand how community insights and lived experience can help shape better services, we’d love to hear from you.
This is a fixed-term role, working approximately two days per week for six to seven months. The budget is £10,000 inclusive of VAT and costs such as travel and connectivity.
