About the role:

As the Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser you will use your core knowledge and skill to reflect on strategy, relationship building and leading our charitable profile and income streams.

You will develop and influence strategy formation with supporters and other stakeholders to identify and actively seek out and engage trusts, foundations, and other funders by writing compelling and comprehensive funding bids, presentations, and applications.

You will work collaboratively with Senior Management Team to enhance stewardship to enable creative, effective, and appropriate activities to promote the development of sustainable engagement with supporters.

About you:

You will have demonstrable knowledge and experience of trusts and grants fundraising in a complex organisation as well as experience of prospecting, writing, and managing the application process. Ability to develop relationships with a broad range of stakeholders is vital.

In this role you will need excellent communication and IT skills together with demonstrable ability to plan, prioritise and work proactively. Understanding of the health/housing sector would be advantageous.

At Merlin Neuro Therapy Centre's our vision is to "Build a strong and connected community, dedicated to improving the health and well-being of our community". We provide therapies and support to those living with long term neurological conditions or who have a neuro divergence in Cornwall. As Head of Income Generation you will lead a small team to increase income and awareness of this well-respected health charity through fundraising and marketing activities. One in seven people in the UK experience tinnitus.  This role will positively and proactively innovate, manage and improve Tnnitus UK' sservices and build on the reputation of Tinnitus UK to date.  This role leads Tinnitus UK's efforts in providing direct support to Tinnitus through multiple channels including telephone, and online.  In addition liaises with regional support group leaders in the provision of support, face to face and locally.  Given that Tinnitus UK is the only charity in the UIK to provide such services delivery of these services at the highest standard is essential and consequently enhances the reputation of the charity,

The position is responsible for the development of the strategic and annual plans associated with the provision of these support services, and has direct day to day responsibility for implementing them through multiple channels (helpline services, support group and volunteer programme, events) nationally in Tinnitus UK.

This role provides strategic oversight and management of the services portfolio (helpline services, support group and volunteer programme, events) nationally in Tinnitus UK.  The post holder works with the Chief Exeutive and the rest of the Leadership team to deliver services, ensuring that goats are achieved through effective management practices, that staff are motivated and supported to builo sustainable services to meet the needs and expectations of the tinnitus community and working closesly with research to remain up to date on the latest understanding of the issues that cause tinnitus and solutions that help address and mitigate the challenges facing sufferers.  The role ensures that all activities are carried out in accordace with statutory requirements, quality standards, information governance requiremens and organisational policies.

This role will maintain and develop Tinnitus UK's digital offerings, ensuring these are delivered in ways that help and encourage people to access our services now and in the future.  This will include maintaining and monitoring existing servces and developing, testing and embedding new ones.

Main Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement our services strategy

• Strategice and operational oversight of all Tinnitus UK's services to the tinnitus community, optimising both digital and traditional models and ensuring relevance and quality
• Innovatively improve and extend Tinnitus UK service proviision, with a primary focus on people living with tinnitus, recognising that Support Services should be availabke at all times when people need them, calling for a strong digital capability
• Identify relevant people and organisations and build relationships to enable better support around the UK for poeple with tinnitus.
• Work with all staff to ensure Tinnitus UK's information and engagement services are understood and well delivered by all staff.

2. Intergrated approach to service user involvement

• Continually analyse and understand the needs of people with tinnitus, care givers, regional co-ordinators, partners and other stakeholders and develop appropriate services to meet them
• Ensure Tinnitus UK's support group network maintain best practice and work with colleagues to identify under-performing groups and develop action plans for improvement
• Establish links with key internal teams and external bodies, managing risk and helping to evaluate our involvement in partnerships and collaborative work.

3. Understanding he needs of the tinnitus community

• Run focus groups to fully understand the needs of people with tinnitus

4. Develop Tinnitus UK's outreach services to people who experience tinnitus

• Lead strategic development of Tinnitus UK's helpline and other outreach services.
• Identify gaps in tinnitus support service provision and work with colleagues to ensure they are filled
• Ensure connectivity between service users' journey across Tinnitus UK's services
• Oversee development of Tinnitus UK's chatbot function in relation to tinnitus support

5. Volunteering and placements

• Work with relevant staff to develop the programme for internal and external volunteering opportunities designed to enhance service delivery and encourage growth of individual volunteers
• Coordinate placements as and when required to ensure the organisation benefits from them

6. Events

• Work with relevant staff to implement a programme of events (conferences, awareness events, training courses) to meet the needs of the tinnitus community
• Lead the innovation of events, using digital and other tools to widen their availability to make them more diverse

• Lead Tinnitus UK's work to assess social impact and value
• Ensure Tinnitus UK's tinnitus support services are founded on evidence-based research and that our advice to people living with tinnitus remains accurate and appropriate in response to developments in the treatment of tinnitus.

Role Requirements

The post holder will line manage the charity’s Shop Managers, supporting them to achieve agreed income targets. Working with colleagues, this role will also be responsible for proposing and then implementing new business initiatives, such as pop-up opportunities, niche offers and promoting online sales within the team as well as monitoring expenditure in line with budget expectations.

With experience of working in a complex environment, across a large and diverse workforce, you will be exceptionally organised with a high-level of attention to detail. You will naturally possess excellent inter-personal skills, and an ability to consult and positively engage with key stakeholders across the organisation.

Role Purpose

This is a senior support post of essential development importance to allow the Dean, Chief Operating Officer, Chapter and committees to develop and maintain an effective system of governance for the Cathedral with adherence to the highest standards of good governance practice. This will include relevant regulatory and legislative requirements. The post holder will provide comprehensive and effective secretariat support for Chapter and its statutory committees.

Job Description

Job Title: Governance & Committees Manager

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Governance administration

• Assist in the production and submission of a range of information required in order to demonstrate compliance;
• Liaise with external legal advisors as required;
• Assist the COO with returns, reports and filings for statutory bodies including the Charity Commission, Church Commissioners, Information Commissioner’s Office, HSE and Companies House;
• Act as the Whistleblowing Officer and assist in the working of the Whistleblowing Policy;
• Assist with the completion of questionnaires and reports for the Cathedral’s insurers, Association of English Cathedrals etc;
• Maintain the declarations of interest and gift registry records for senior staff and committee members and record in the minutes when committee members are conflicted out or need to declare an interest;
• Assist the COO in keeping a log of complaints under the Complaints Policy adopted under the Cathedrals Measure and help to ensure that complaints are dealt with according to the policy;
• Provide such other support at the COO reasonably requires including correspondence, research and diary management.

Committees administration

• Lead the co-ordination, preparation, planning and follow-up for meetings and other committee work associated with the governance of the Cathedral. This will include issuing invitations, booking rooms, issuing Zoom invitations, arranging refreshments and access needs, assisting in the drafting of agendas, gathering and circulating supporting papers for the meetings, attending meetings, taking confidential minutes, circulating and amending minutes and maintaining action trackers for the members of the following committees: Chapter, Finance Committee, Audit & Risk Committtee;
• Assist in the work of the Nominations Committee to recruit members for the new committees;
• Assist in the work of the Standing Committee as it prepares for Chapter meetings;
• Assist the Dean and COO in their governance responsibilities under the Care of Cathedrals Measure 2021, including being the point of contact with the Fabric Advisory Committee and liaising with its Chair and Secretary;
• Liaise with committee members and maintain good relationships;
• Liaise with professional advisers where appropriate and in consultation with the COO;
• Assist in the scheduling of training and circulation of information and papers for Chapter and committee members as required. 

Safeguarding administration

The Cathedral follows the safeguarding best practice and guidance set out in the Diocesan policy “A Safe Church” and also follows the policies and guidance set out by the National Safeguarding Team.

Reporting to the Cathedral Safeguarding Lead (CSL), the post-holder will:

• Assist the CSL in ensuring that safer recruitment practice is observed in all recruitment;
• Undertake the DBS checks for staff and volunteers if required, including verifying identity, submitting the applications and reporting to the candidate’s line manager/team leader when the checks have been completed. This will include advising colleagues as to which checks are appropriate and liaising with the Diocesan Safeguarding team and Volunteers & Community Officer;
• Maintain accurate records of all DBS checks carried out in a central register;
• Arrange for all new staff (paid and volunteer) to attend safeguarding training and arrange follow-up training for existing staff (every 3 years). This will include ascertaining which levels of training are required and which individuals will also need specific additional training for their roles;
• Liaise with the trainers to identify training sessions, book rooms and catering and arrange room set-up;
• Maintain accurate records of all safeguarding training carried out in a central register;
• Report to Chapter when required.

Additional responsibilities

• Support the COO in the coordination of risk management across the organisation;
• Arrange and manage the Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) and parish clerking duties;
• Ensure timely publication of statutory notices in advance of the annual APCM;
• Assist the COO with returns, reports and filings for the Parish;
• Support data protection compliance across the organisation;
• Ensure that the highest standards of professional performance are maintained;

South London Citizens 

South London Citizens is a thriving chapter with a growing team of ~18 organisers and project staff. We are building the power of communities in South London through borough alliances (in Greenwich, Lewisham, Southwark, Lambeth, Wandsworth, Merton, Croydon) and the wider region by developing community leadership and supporting people to take action on what matters most to them. Over the past three years, we have worked in partnership with mental health trusts to deliver a pioneering organising project, South London Listens (SLL), to prevent mental ill-health, and more recently with wider South London NHS leaders to take action on a range of issues (from low wages to housing conditions) that impact our communities’ health.

Purpose 

We are looking for two Associate Organisers to join our thriving and dynamic team in South London building the power of local communities. These roles will support local organising, and have a specific focus on health and living wage organising.

In this exciting and innovative role, you will work with community organisations, including faith institutions, schools, universities, and community groups. Your primary responsibility will be to

1. build ‘Be Well’ teams to support the wellbeing of their communities, as part of the South London Listens partnership; 

2. find and develop new community leaders within their organisations; and 

3. take action to tackle the social determinants of health inequality (e.g. lack of migration status, racism, housing conditions, low wages and precarious work).

One or both of the roles will also include specific organising with low paid workers to lead the fight for a real living wage and living hours.

A central focus of an Associate Organiser is their own development: learning the craft of Community Organising under the guidance of an experienced Community Organiser. An Associate Organiser is working towards becoming a competent practitioner of the craft of broad-based community organising methodology, and focuses on the building of relational power, the recruitment and retention of dues-paying institutions, the development of leaders, the strengthening of member institutions, leader-led public actions, and the winning of systemic change. Your learning and development will be paramount in the first few months as the responsibilities given to your experience and skills develop.

Grow and deliver on the priorities of South London Listens and our broader Health organising 

• Build and support new Be Well Hubs in a range of institutions in your allocated boroughs. Including identifying new institutions, delivering training, and supporting them once they are established.

• Work with other organisers to deliver on the priorities identified by communities that are part of the South London Listens project

• Ensure reporting and capturing of stories of the South London Listens project are captured and shared to celebrate and grow the project.

At least one of the roles includes supporting our organising efforts for more just work and wages 

• Identify and develop worker leaders

• Take action with South London Citizens leaders to increase the number of living wage and living hours employers in London 

• Develop and deliver community organising training for worker leaders 

Build relational power to further the goals of CUK 

• Actively participate in the development of a comprehensive power analysis appropriate to the desired sphere of influence for each project/assignment

• Establish working relationships with identified leaders and demonstrate ability to move them into action, including as part of the wider alliance; taking the initiative to establish new relationships as required

Are you passionate about improving support for families affected by substance misuse?

This could be the perfect role for you! The Family Support Worker is an exciting role within a growing and dynamic team, where you can help to make a real difference to the lives of unpaid carers in Lambeth. 

Having identified a gap in the identification of young carers and adult carers looking after someone with substance misuse issues, over the past year we have successfully piloted a project to identify and provide long-term support to these carers. We are now entering the second year of the project, and are looking for a new Family Support Worker to bring their expertise, enthuasism and ideas to the next stage of the project. 

The Family Support Worker will work across our Young Carers and Adult Carers Service to provide support to families affected by substance misuse, through whole-family assessments and reviews. The successful candidate will ensure that adult and young carers, and their families, have access to a range of emotional and practical support appropriate to their needs.

The successful candidate will have an understanding of working within the substance misuse field and an understanding of associated health and social issues. They will preferably have experience of working with both adults, children and young people. We are seeking candidates with a professional qualification in health & social care, youth or community work, and/or direct experience of delivering family focused interventions.
