The successful candidate will lead on delivery of our voluntary sector support activity, working as part of our award-winning Barnet Together partnership with Young Barnet Foundation and Groundwork London.  You will ensure we continue a strong delivery of our offer and that we increase membership and engagement, and act as Inclusion Barnet’s Operational Lead within the partnership.  You’ll undertake some delivery yourself, supporting groups with funding applications and more complex governance queries.  You’ll also convene Barnet’s Environmental Network, and attend some key local meetings to provide representation of the sector’s views. 

To succeed, you will either have previous experience of supporting community groups in a sector support role, or solid experience of third sector management, governance and fundraising.  You’ll be excited by the challenge of delivering this unique service and keen to build on the success of Barnet Together to date.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised individual to be responsible for our day-to-day office management.  This is a pivotal role in keeping our office running smoothly and providing a welcoming and safe environment for staff and visitors.

The role

The person will report jointly to the BIICL Director and the Director of Governance and Operations and will carry out the following duties:

General Management

• Overseeing daily office operations and maintaining a professional, welcoming environment.
• Being the first point of contact for calls, visitors, and general office enquiries.
• Handling outgoing and incoming mail and deliveries and ensuring efficient distribution.
• Oversight of facilities and day-to-day liaison with building management to ensure facilities are well-maintained.
• Purchasing of office supplies, furniture and non-IT equipment.
• Maintaining and reviewing insurance policies (with Director of Governance and Operations).
• Managing building access control systems and office security.
• Acting as a fire marshal and assisting with Health & Safety compliance, including workstation assessments for new staff and first aid training requirements.
• Leading on arrangements for social and team activities, e.g. staff Christmas party and other team building activities.

HR Administration

• Maintaining staff personnel files and holiday and sick leave records.
• Day-to-day management of staff recruitment including placing of advertisements and arrangements for shortlisting/interviewing.
• Assisting in the induction of new staff, volunteers and visiting fellows including maintaining and updating the induction pack and ensuring any compulsory training takes place (with Director of Governance & Operations).
• Co-ordinating arrangements for annual staff appraisals.
• Co-ordination of BIICL’s Volunteer and Visiting Fellow programmes (with Director of Training).
• Day-to day liaison with WorkNest (external providers of employment law support) including annual review of policies, contract and Staff Handbook.

Executive and Governance Support

•  Providing executive support to the BIICL Director, including diary management and correspondence, plus occasional assistance to Centre Heads.
• Acting as Secretary to the BIICL Management Board, including producing agenda, circulating papers and writing up action notes.
• Assisting with arrangements for major events such as the Annual Grotius and Weinrebe Lectures.
• Co-ordinating contributions to the Quarterly Research Bulletin.
• Other administrative assistance, as required.

Purpose of the role:

The purpose of this role is to build on our programme of strategic engagement with our key audiences, in order to build our presence, influence and networks in a wide range of UK sectors and topical issues. This includes leading the design and delivery of some of our focused programmes in which we award Fellowships and supporting the Fellows awarded into these programmes to help them increase their UK impact once they’ve done their overseas learning. This role is responsible for delivering all engagement activity across our Arts and culture, Community and citizenship, Environment and resources and Governance and public provision universal themes.  

Key responsibilities:

Programme Development and Delivery

• With oversight from the Engagement Director, and working with members of the Advisory Council to develop the focus and goals of a three-year Fellowship programme within our Governance and Public Provision universal theme through a process of desk-based research and consultation workshops
• Working with the Head of Comms to design and plan the launch of the new programme to applicants
• Working with the Head of Fellowship to design a support package for applicants into the programme
• With oversight from the Engagement Director, creating and facilitating a Working Group of Fellows, partners and Council members to support the cohort of Fellows awarded within this programme. And working with the other Research and Engagement Manager to develop and enhance our approach to stewarding these Working Groups including ones already in place for our other programmes.

• Supporting the Engagement Director in the recruitment and stewardship of Knowledge Partners for this programme and other programmes under your four thematic sectors

• Working with members of our Advisory Council to review our two environment related programmes with a view to revising them or developing them further.
• Reviewing the progress of each programme under your remit with the relevant Advisory Council members and the Working Group at the end of the applications cycle and before the programme reopens for applications

 Sector Relations & Networking

• Researching target audiences, stakeholders, partners and allies, in the four thematic sectors you oversee. Building relationships and maintaining our database of these.
• Developing and managing a systematic programme of engagement with these audiences, through communications and activities including talks, briefings, events, newsletters, publications and other opportunities.
• Systematic promotion of Fellows into these sectors.

Creation of Engagement Content

• Designing and delivering a programme of engagement events for Fellows including webinars and convenings to provide support, knowledge sharing and networking opportunities for the community of Fellows
• Leading on the design and delivery of a programme of wrap-up engagement activity for Fellows in our Rural communities programme
• Leading on the discovery and development phase of a programme of wrap-up engagement activity for Fellows in our Arts and Communities and Children and Young People with experience of care programmes.
• Assisting with the creation of sector content to support the dissemination of Fellows’ learning into their sectors
• Writing engagement materials such as case studies for a wide range of sectors and issues.

• Filtering Fellows’ surveys for case studies and other material.

Post-learning support for the community of Fellows

• Working with partners to deliver training and upskilling support to Fellows to help them increase their UK impact
• Supporting Fellows to distil their learning into ‘reports’ which can be used to disseminate their learning and recommendations
• Ad hoc support to individual Fellows to help them connect with their sectors and each other, and promote their learning and recommendations
• Working with the Engagement team to rethink and pilot new approaches to post overseas learning support for Fellows including grants, events, training, community platforms and more
• Supporting the Engagement Director with the biennial Awards Ceremony for Fellows

And to undertake any additional appropriate duties as may reasonably be required on either a short or long term basis.

Working for The Churchill Fellowship 

• Salary c. £43,000-46,000 per annum (5 days per week / 36.5 hours)

Richmond Carers Centre has the mission to help unpaid and family adult carers to live a full, active and meaningful life by providing them with advice, information, activities, breaks and emotional support either face to face, by phone or by email to enable them to live well.

As the Adult Carers Activities Coordinator, you will directly deliver our leisure break activity and training programmes. You will plan, deliver, promote and review a programme of activities for adult carers, including outreach activities and leisure events, as well as group work to help enhance carers’ health and wellbeing. Assistant Shop Manager - Nork

You will support the promotion of sustainable shopping and the shop’s social media to increase audience reach, attract customers, donors and volunteer supporters to deliver the Retail Strategy.

Role Requirements

• To maximise shop sales by achieving agreed targets both through donated stock and bought in/new goods. This involves proactive stock generation, optimum pricing, processing stock to agreed amounts and stock planning.
• Achieve Gift Aid sales conversion target through maximising new donor sign up and encouraging repeat donations.
• Achieve the shops Raffle sales targets through involving the shops team.
• To maintain high levels of shop presentation by merchandising and housekeeping to agreed standards as set out in the Shops Operations manual.
• Manage the stock levels of bought in/new goods, to include ordering of more stock as and when necessary and recording key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Assist in holding and attending Fundraising events to promote the awareness of The Children’s Trust.

The Volunteering & Recruitment Co-ordinator will be a key member of the HR & Operations Team at Richmond Borough Mind – a well-established and diverse mental health charity supporting the local community. About the role

This role will be leading and developing the Volunteering and Employability functions for FSSW, alongside providing operational safeguarding support to the Safeguarding Team. The core volunteer program supports the running of the organisation as a whole every day and is embedded across all departments in Bristol and Plymouth. The Employability team runs a NEET Employability programme in our South Bristol warehouse 3 days a week, with administrative duties full time. This part of FSSW is expanding and your role will oversee the pilot and launch of another Employability programme in Plymouth.

In this role you will:

1.Be the senior management overseeing and supporting the running of our employability and volunteering functions across Bristol and Plymouth.

2. Support the organisation as the Operational Safeguarding Lead, working alongside the Strategic lead to oversee incidents and support the training and development of staff.

3. Lead on project development across both volunteering and employability as we grow our offer and launch a number of major organisational developments. This will include but is not limited to; policy, strategy, role and process development.

4. Build and work with our volunteer, employability and warehouse teams to ensure that they have the skills, knowledge, support and training opportunities needed to manage the volunteer workforce and deliver the employability programs across the charity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Line Management:

· Line management of Volunteer Manager based at Bedminster and St Jude’s in Bristol and the Volunteer team at Sisna Park in Plymouth

· Line management of two Employability Programme Leads based at both Bedminster and Inner-city Bristol office and future Plymouth based Employability staff

· Recruit and contract for any staffing gaps in the Volunteer and Employability Teams based on skills and expertise required

Volunteer Recruitment, Retention & Development:

· Oversee the volunteer managers who run the day-to-day of the volunteer programme

· Oversee the Volunteer teams to create a recruitment and retention plan to build a reliable voluntary workforce

· Support in any required monitoring and evaluation of the volunteering function

The Role 
 
As a Warehouse Operations Manager you will oversee the Manse Lane Warehouse in Knaresborough, including donation sorting, storage, and supporting the eCommerce and Facilities teams.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will manage the smooth migration of the sorting operation from the Hornbeam Park Donation Centre to Knaresborough, ensuring minimal disruption for customers, staff, and volunteers. Once operational, you will lead stock control and movement across both the Warehouse and Donation Centre, ensuring both sites are well-resourced and run efficiently seven days a week. Although sorting will move to Knaresborough, donation handling will continue at Hornbeam Park, requiring ongoing process review to minimise stock double-handling. 

Specifically, you will: 

Warehouse Setup & Migration – initial objective 

• Define goals, deliverables, and timelines for the new warehouse project. 

• Create detailed project and budget plans with the Finance Business Partner. 

• Identify resources, manage risks, and ensure operational alignment. 

• Design an efficient warehouse layout and manage setup (equipment, tech, logistics). 

Operational Handover & SOPs 

• Develop and implement new SOPs and adjust existing ones to suit the new site.
