About this exciting opportunity

Our successful candidate will provide operational management and effective leadership to a team of Financial Wellbeing Coaches (FWCs) and Peer Advisor volunteers employed in the delivery of one or more contracts awarded by the HMPPS to deliver Finance, Benefit and Debt (FBD) services in Wales.

We will count on you to set performance objectives and monitor progress – ensuring compliance with contractual performance indicators and quality improvement, and to monitor and manage all aspects of delivery and performance.

This key role will also involve managing partnerships, developing and maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders, and managing and coordinating allocated resources, including volunteers and spot purchase funds.  Ensuring there is a safe and trusting working environment for staff and working closely with other St Giles Wise Managers to ensure consistency of approach and sharing of best practice are also key duties.

• Experience of working in, or managing, services supporting challenging people

• Experience working in or managing multi-agency partnerships working towards common objectives 

• Hold a relevant qualification, or be able to provide evidence of training at specialist level in money and/or welfare benefits advice 

• Sound understanding of the requirements of managing a caseload 

• Familiarity with relevant legislation, regulations, guidance codes of practice and industry standards

• Ability to coach and mentor staff to motivate and facilitate optimum performance Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Job Title: Support Mentor

Location: Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC), the service is a short walk from Ladbroke Grove (Circle and Hammersmith) station. Unfortunately, this service does not have step free access.

Salary: £27,000 (Full Time equivalent) 

Shift Pattern: Part Time 15 hours per week Monday to Friday on a rota between 09:00 - 17:00 and 13:00 - 21:00. You may be required to work bank holidays and evenings as required. 

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Mentor to join our team based in RBKC to support our residents who have multiple and complex needs which could include mental health, substance use, homelessness, and/or offending backgrounds. You will support in providing our residents with the support needed to help them overcome their personal barriers, and achieve their goals in a person centred approach. You will work within a residential setting, creating a safe and comfortable space which our residents can call their homes during their time within the service. The role includes:

• Supporting residents with daily tasks
• Holding a caseload, conducting key work sessions which are personable to their needs
• Carry out regular welfare checks, safeguarding checks, and general living checks
• Encourage residents to take part in activities and events
• Keep support plans up to date on a regular basis
• Work closely with the rest of the team to provide overall excellent service delivery, this may mean also supporting with their caseloads, and other tasks as necessary
• Carry out general housing management support

About You

We're looking for someone who has a true passion to support those who have multiple and complex needs, with a drive to help support those who suffer with homelessness, mental health, and substance use. You will be able to build rapport and trusting relations in a professional setting, and able to build positive outcomes. You will have an adaptable and flexible approach to helping others, with an understanding that each individual has different levels and types of support needs. Further we look for:

• Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds and/or a good understanding of the sector, particularly around multiple and complex needs
• Ability to show empathy and compassion to our residents, and different challenges they face
• Ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs
• Ability and willingness to show flexibility of working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and residents
• Ability to promote the service and provide outreach-based provision, with an ability to liaise and work effectively in partnership with stakeholders
• Understanding of the different needs people with multiple and complex needs have and be aware of the social marginalisation that can be attached to people who face personal challenges

About the role:

The Advance Prison Advocate will support sentenced women facing imminent release from custody, providing pre-release support; focused on Accommodation, Finance, debt & benefits, Family & significant others and Social inclusion.

The Prison Advocate will develop a referral pathway with the Offender Management team within the prison, for women to access the service and will work in partnership with the existing service providers operating within the prison. You will co-design a person-centred support and action plan with women accessing support, enabling you to support them to address their needs and any risks in relation to the interventions identified above including providing ‘through the gate support’. The role will combine a casework- based approach, along with a signposting and advice service for the women in custody.

You will have demonstrable experience and understanding of working with women in a challenging multi-agency environment, ideally working with prisoners and/or their families.

You will build strong relationships with the Pre Release teams to ensure clients are able to maintain or access suitable accommodation, finance, benefits and debt, family and social inclusion support including negotiating terms on behalf of the women. Ensure that interventions are responsive to and meet the needs of women from diverse and minoritised backgrounds. This, together with referrals to wider partner organisations in the community, will ensure additional support needs are addressed post-release and continuity of support exists

A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential

About You:

To be successful as the Advance Prison Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:

Knowledge and experience of the criminal justice system obtained through academic study, experience of working in the criminal justice system (or closely associated social system).

The ability and experience as a caseworker delivering gender specific and trauma responsive interventions which support resettlement and rehabilitation of female adults in the criminal justice system whether in the community or in prisons.

You will possess excellent organisational skills, excellent communication skills and be able to work in a prison environment whilst remaining calm.

Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of managing a caseload including maintaining and updating records, remaining focused on action plan goals, and keeping to deadlines

You will have the ability to complete trauma informed, support and action plans in collaboration with the woman; to support in addressing their multiple and individual needs and enable them to engage with services, which will result in timely and prescribed outcomes being achieved.

Community Engagement Officer (part-time/2 or 3 days per week – fixed term contract of 12 months) for a small, growing community organisation based in East London.

The Southeast and East Asian Centre CIC (SEEAC) is a non-profit organisation registered as a community interest company that provides community-based support to members of the East and Southeast Asian (ESEA) communities, especially those underrepresented and marginalised migrants and refugees in the UK. Our website. This is a part-time role to lead SEEAC’s engagement with the East and Southeast Asian Communities. The Community Engagement Officer is responsible for reaching out, building and maintaining a solid network with community members, identifying and understanding communities’ needs, liaising and coordinating with other stakeholders who can provide relevant support and assistance, and supporting the development of communication materials for the communities. The post holder will work closely with members of the SEEAC staff team, volunteers and partners in organising and promoting community activities and disseminating information to the community members and relevant stakeholders.

To be considered for this role, you must have 2 or more years of demonstrated professional experience working in a community setting or a non-profit organisation involving social justice issues (as an employee or a volunteer) and strong organisational and administrative skills. We expect you to demonstrate proven ability to organise events and activities. You also need to have a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to safeguarding, data protection and confidentiality, as well as a good understanding of project planning and budgeting. You must be able to communicate fluently in English and, preferably with a command of at least one of ESEA languages. It would be beneficial if you have previously worked as part of a diverse team and have exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of quickly establishing good relationships to respond sensitively and confidentially to all stakeholders. We would also prefer you to have experience of working directly with ESEA communities or other minoritised, racialised or migrant communities and/or have good knowledge of ESEA cultures. Those with lived experience of the issues faced by migrants, refugees and people seeking asylum and/or their family members are encouraged to apply.

You will report to the Programme Manager and collaborate with all members of the staff. At times, you will liaise and collaborate with SEEAC’s stakeholders, such as volunteers and partner organisations, to design and convene activities that effectively support communities’ needs.

Flexible homework is offered in a hybrid setting, with in-person work based at the SEEAC office in East London. To create a better collaboration with other staff members and communities, SEEAC, however, require all staff members to work in the office or on-site occasionally as required. Depending on activities and event planned, the post requires occasional work in the evening and during weekends within contracted hours. Opportunities for skills development training are offered. This is a 12-month fixedterm contract, on a part-time of 3 or 2-days/week part-time (0.6 or 0.4 FTE) basis, for a January 2026 start. SEEAC’s full-time is 5 days per week (35hrs per week). The service has two 24/7 multi-bed premises which provide supported housing for individuals facing addiction and homelessness.

Approved Premises (APs) work with high-risk people released from prison, providing a vital element in public protection arrangements. APs offer a level of contact, support and supervision within the community that is unique within the Criminal Justice System. This is an opportunity to be part of a dedicated, enthusiastic staff team at our male Approved Premises in Battersea, playing a key role in pro-social modelling, rehabilitation and community reintegration for those ready to make positive choices.

Working closely with Probation Officers and other community services such as police, health, housing and substance misuse, we provide a stepping stone from prison into the community.

As a member of the Approved Premises team, you will model pro-social behavior and foster a positive, respectful culture with both clients and colleagues. You will actively engage with residents, supporting communal activities such as meal preparation, and contribute to the delivery of individual sentence plans in collaboration with probation officers, police, and external agencies.

Your role will involve providing administrative and practical support, ensuring daily tasks are completed, and following all operational protocols. You will encourage compliance and enforce rules relating to curfews and drug and alcohol testing as required. Keeping colleagues, multi-agency partners, and management informed is essential.

You will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the health, safety, security, cleanliness, and well-being of the premises and residents, utilizing tools such as CCTV, observation, and direct personal contact. Accurate, timely record-keeping and appropriate information sharing with respect for confidentiality are critical components of this role.

Using your initiative, you will identify and address additional tasks or emerging issues, working within the service to maintain an enabling environment. Adherence to the Approved Premises Manual, Hestia policies, and relevant justice service requirements is expected, alongside consistently demonstrating The Hestia Approach.

This role involves working closely with high-risk offenders transitioning from prison to community life, providing a unique level of daily support, supervision, and tailored interventions. You will empower residents to take responsibility for themselves while maintaining appropriate boundaries and supervision. The position operates on a rolling rota covering early, late, weekend, and night shifts to ensure continuous support and public protection.

One25 is a Bristol charity for women moving from crisis and trauma towards independence in the community. It is a highly respected charity working with some of the most marginalised women in Bristol.

One25 services have been developed to meet women at their point of need, with love and practical support. We do this through our night and early morning outreach service which is a lifeline for nearly 200 women on Bristol’s streets. Our Health Hub provides support for women to access health services and healthcare professionals. Our caseworkers offer intensive one-to-one care in any area of need: from support in court to finding somewhere safe to live.

We are recruiting a Van Outreach Worker to lead One25’s van outreach shifts on alternate weekends. The role provides support and sign-posting to women who are street-sex working, leads and supports a small team of volunteers on each shift, provides briefings and debriefs before and after shifts, and makes decisions relating to safeguarding and safety on the van. On alternate weekends, the Weekend Van Outreach Worker provides on-call support to those on shift. There is also one weekly daytime shift in the office to connect with the wider team.

We are looking for someone who is able to bring compassion and a non-judgemental approach to their engagement with the women. You should have great interpersonal skills which help you to support the volunteers who keep One25’s services running. You should be able to think on your feet and, when necessary, be decisive. This is a unique role and every night can be different. Hours:  An average of 12.25 working hours per week in an alternating shift pattern across a fortnight, arranged as follows:

• Week 1: Wed 06:30 – 14:30, Sat 20:30 – 02:00, Sun 20:30 – 12:30

Plus 9.5 hours on-call per fortnight:

After successful completion of probation period, employees have the option to join the 4 Day Week pilot (work 20% less for the same salary).

Salary:  £8,642.62 per annum (£26,457 FTE) plus additional on-call payments for any on-call shifts.

Sounds great, what will I be doing?

The role empowers service users to manage their wellbeing, build independence, and achieve personal goals through tailored support and co-produced plans. It involves liaising with external agencies, facilitating group and community-based activities, and promoting social inclusion.

The position ensures users understand and engage with the service, while actively monitoring safety and wellbeing. Team collaboration and flexibility are essential to meeting service goals and maintaining high standards of care.

You will also be cooking a meal for service users when you work a weekend shift as well as responsible for keeping the kitchen clean to a good standard for food standards agency inspections

What do I need to bring with me?

You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. You don't have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that you're willing to learn. We also value lived experience of the areas we support, so if you feel comfortable, please do mention this on your application.

Here's what the team will be looking for

You have proven experience supporting individuals with mental health and/or dual diagnosis issues, either in a paid or voluntary capacity. You demonstrate a strong understanding of mental health conditions, effective communication, and the importance of providing dignified, respectful support.

You possess a solid grasp of Mental Health legislation, particularly the Care Programme Approach (CPA), and apply the principles of recovery through person-centred and strengths-based methods. You work effectively both independently and within a team, supporting colleagues and assisting with the induction of volunteers to maintain high service standards.

With good IT, literacy, and numeracy skills, you confidently use systems such as MS Word, Outlook, and online tools to manage records and communication. You handle challenging behaviour calmly and professionally, maintaining a non-judgemental and anti-discriminatory approach at all times.

Flexible and dedicated, you are willing to work early, late, and occasional weekend shifts to meet service needs. You have a strong understanding of safeguarding and act appropriately to protect clients. Above all, your solution-focused mindset, collaborative attitude, and optimism about recovery enable you to empower clients to make positive, lasting changes.

You must also be confident to cook a Sunday Roast for a group of service users.

When will I be working?

You will be working on a sleep in shift pattern which is on average 39 hours per week for example:
