With a focus on the strategic development side of the team you will cultivate information into initiatives such as the development of curricula or standards but also ongoing initiatives which will serve to increase routes into the workforce for both existing and emerging groups of doctors and allied health professionals. What you’ll do:

• Manage the development and implementation of new versions of the postgraduate curricula for our specialities.
• Establish and implement necessary quality assurance mechanisms and initiative.
• Oversee the provision of support for ancillary workforce development initiatives.
• Undertake market research to evaluate the viability of proposed new workforce initiatives, targeting those with the greatest reach and impact.
• Lead, motivate performance manage and develop a team.

The person

You will be part of the Young People’s Services Team who provide a range of services and activities for young wheelchair users and their families. The Marylebone Project is one of the largest women’s hostels in the UK for women affected by homelessness. Those we support are often affected by substance misuse, unemployment, domestic violence, and mental health issues. Salary

Hours

40 hours per week. You will be placed on a shift-based Rota which includes early shifts, Late shifts and weekend shifts. In general the hours of working will be from 8am-4.30pm.
Working hours and rotas are subject to change by the organisation as required, based on operational/service need, though we try not to do this frequently. Some flexibility in working hours is expected.

Pension

The employee will be enrolled into a pension scheme providing the post holder meets the criteria for eligibility. Minimum pension contributions will be paid by the employer for you if you are eligible.

Annual Leave

Occupational Requirement

The Marylebone Project is based over two sites, 100m apart, up to 7 floors, and the job regularly involves walking throughout and between both sites. The postholder must be able to access all areas of the Project, and may be required to do so quickly in the event of an emergency. There is also a requirement to travel across London for work related purposes. The ability to undertake these physical aspects of the role and to carry smaller items are required as essential.

What will I be doing?

• Management of CRUK's Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) accreditation and all associated policies, processes, risk assessment and staff training required for its maintenance

• Developing and implementing processes captured within documentation across the Cancer Intelligence Team, including the delivery of training to and assessment of staff to ensure high level and consistent knowledge of processes for handling sensitive/confidential health data

• Writing, updating and/or collating all relevant documentation required for successful submission of officially recognised data security accreditations

• Identifying risks and developing mitigation strategies, including the maintenance of a data asset risk register

• Providing technical support for applications to acquire data for the Cancer Intelligence team (including both regular updates of official statistics, and bespoke extracts of patient and other data that may require Research Ethics approval or equivalent), ensuring these applications meet the requirements of our data suppliers

• Leading on logistical aspects of acquiring data, including tracking requests, and anticipating and resolving potential delays

• Identifying potential and actual system bottlenecks; and assisting the Data Liaison Manager to bring about improvements in access to patient data

• Providing regular management information about data acquisition processes for the Data Liaison Manager and Head of Cancer Intelligence

• Responsible for ensuring that data are transferred, stored and accessed as prescribed in Cancer Intelligence Information Security Management System policies.

If so, St Giles are looking for a Trainer to work collaboratively within a prison-based setting to provide a quality service to people in prison who work across the establishment as peer supporters wellbeing navigators. This will involve training, supporting and assessing peer supporters to achieve their Level 3 Certificate in Advice and Guidance and other vocational qualifications whilst supporting them to progress onto further opportunities and sustainable employment.

About this key role

As a Trainer, you will be embedded within a prison-based setting and expected to assess the suitability of applicants to become Wellbeing peer supporters and to complete the Learning to Advise course, which includes sessions on confidentiality, equality act, safeguarding and case notes and other relevant training.  You will then prepare, plan, and deliver the Learning to Advise assured course to individuals in prison, ensuring the completion of all relevant paperwork in a timely manner and delivering any additional Emotional Resilience/Wellbeing units necessary to individuals participating.

We will also rely on you to work with allocated learners to produce realistic assessment plans and to provide one-to-one support to learners as appropriate, whilst monitoring their progress towards timely completion and certification. Working in partnership with Big Dog Little Dog to design, adapt and deliver emotional resilience/wellbeing training sessions is also a key element of this role, as is working constructively with colleagues to achieve pilot targets and supporting local community projects with advertising, recruiting, and facilitating ROTLS.

• Experience of working to targets and recording information and statistics to enable effective monitoring of performance against targets

• Level 3 Certificate in Education and Training or equivalent teaching/assessor certification

• An understanding of the issues faced by project participants in accessing and sustaining training or employment and how these can be overcome

The role of Programme Lead (Training and Reconciliation) is a key new position in supporting Place for Hope’s strategic goal of growing our partnerships with faith communities to support and equip more people to reach their potential as peacemakers. 

The Programme Lead will co-ordinate all work related to our new 5-year partnership with the United Reformed Church (URC). The partnership will involve two key areas (i) the development and staged roll-out of a mediation team within the URC who will work ecumenically with the wider Place for Hope Practitioner team; and (ii) embedding the understanding, skills, and confidence in how to deal well with conflict, change and difference through a set programme of trainings. 

The Programme Lead will draw on the entire Place for Hope team (staff and volunteers) to develop and deliver an agreed 5-year programme plan. The role will also involve supporting the wider work of Place for Hope, particularly working with our training team to deliver our training programme (online and in-person) with a wide range of partners.

Previous experience of project management, training, as well as excellent organisational and communication skills are essential to the role. The ideal candidate would also have an interest in supporting faith communities to transform conflict and a willingness to undertake CPD provided by Place for Hope to build their knowledge and skills in this area. This is an exciting time to join Place for Hope and play a pivotal role in equipping individuals and faith communities to choose peace in times of fear and division.

This activity will involve rolling out training solutions to scale and geographical dispersed individuals so you should have excellent communications and interpersonal skills, and be solutions focused. Project management experience would be advantageous for this role.

About the role

As the Area Service Manager, you will be accountable for ensuring our contracts with partners and/or commissioners deliver to the highest standards, in a way that creates maximum impact.

Across Yorkshire, you will lead on the delivery of our coaching and behaviour change programmes alongside managing our expanding housing portfolio and housing support services. You will take responsibility for growing the business across Yorkshire with existing partners, other organisations and via Local Authority contracts.

As a member of the national Joint Leadership Team (JLT), you will help to shape and develop our services and products, ensuring that the EF’s growth remains rooted in our organisational values of respect, accountability, and integrity.

Our current contracts cover Leeds, Kirklees, and York, and you will be required to work across varying sites. You will directly manage a team of Service Managers and Team Leaders and be responsible for a growing staff team of over 25 individuals.

You are an experienced operational leader who has a proven track record in managing front-line substance misuse, recovery and/or housing services.

As a values-led manager, you have a passion for developing services and staff to be the best they can be.

Organisation, planning, and communication skills come naturally to you, as you will managing competing priorities across a large geographical area.

JOB TITLE: Assistance Dog Trainer

LOCATION: Based out of our Training Centre in Great Horwood, near Milton Keynes with responsibility for puppies placed with socialisers in Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, and Northamptonshire (with possible travel outside these areas from time to time)

REPORTS TO: Assistance Dog Training Coordinator

Medical Detection Dogs trains dogs to save lives.

We train specialist dogs to detect the odour of human disease, providing life-saving alert assistance dogs to people with complex health problems across the UK and collaborating with NHS Trusts and other researchers and Universities both in the UK and internationally to advance the early diagnosis of disease.

Responsibilities

Training and Development of Puppies

• Take responsibility for a group of puppies allocated to socialisers living in your geographical area.
• Provide training that meets the charity’s quality standards and in accordance with timescales and targets.
• To deliver effective training by holding puppy classes, 121’s and home visits with socialisers in your geographical area.
• To prepare the puppy to be a Medical Alert Assistance Dog, using positive reinforcement techniques to teach desired behaviours and modify unwanted behaviours.
• Regularly monitor progress of the puppies in your area and provide detailed, evidenced feedback to the senior team within Dog Supply and training.
• Support and assist with the potential matches for a particular assistance dog partnership and in consultation with the Assistance Dog Training Coordinator, provide any client specific training needed prior to the match.
• Conduct regular training sessions with assistance dogs in training in various environments to ensure they are confident and responsive in real-world settings.

 Socialiser Support

• Be the first point of contact for the socialisers in your area, which will include guidance, support and instruction to socialisers on effective work and training with their assistance dogs.
• Provide general health care advice within your core working hours.

Socialiser Recruitment

• Assist in the recruitment of new volunteer socialisers.
• Carry out home checks to assess prospective new socialisers.

Other

• Update the Harlequin CRM database in a timely fashion to ensure accurate and up to date training, veterinary and health records.
• Support the charity’s fundraising, communications and volunteering teams as required, specifically in relation to your area.
• From time to time you may be required to have a dog live with you for additional training for a set period.
• Share best practice with colleagues across the charity.
• Other tasks or ad hoc duties agreed with your line manager required to ensure the successful running of the charity.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone with the skills, experience and passion to join our team of trainers responsible for organising and monitoring the progress of our puppies and young dogs to ensure they receive the highest standard of socialisation and early training, thereby maximising their chances of becoming a Medical Detection Dog.

• Experience in training Assistance Dogs.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in dog training
• Basic theory of practical dog training.
• Law in relation to dogs.
• Knowledge of medical conditions relevant to puppies between 8 weeks and 2 years of age.
• Dog and human psychology.
• Health and safety implications of dog and socialiser handling.
• Experience and understanding of ADUK and ADI regulations.

 SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Ability to demonstrate high quality judgement and a proven track record in relation to the following:
• Dog training matters including the analysis of temperaments, appropriate training methods and requirements necessary to maintain public perception in assistance dogs.
• Solutions to training and behavioural problems.
• Socialiser training including the ability to assess each person’s preferred learning style and adapt as appropriate your training approach, the specific programmes to be followed,
• Strong and clear teaching and instructing skills.
• Ability to plan work, be organised and ensure that time is utilised effectively for yourself, colleagues and socialisers.
• Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with a wide range of people internally and externally. This will include clients and their families, fosterers, other professional service providers, members of the public, the media, managers and other colleagues.
• High level of IT literacy and report writing skills including experience of using Microsoft based programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer and Power Point.

Support Dog is a unique and innovative national charity that has been transforming the lives of families affected by autism, epilepsy and disability for 30 years.

Support Dogs trains and provides specialist assistance dog to give 100% reliable advance warning of epileptic seizures; to help children with autism to stay safe and better engage with the world around them. Our disability assistance dogs bring independence and a better quality of life for those with physical disabilities including MS, Cerebral Palsy and Fibromyalgia.

Founded and entirely based in Sheffield our charity operates across the UK, growing significantly over recent years. The demand for our work is overwhelming, with requests for support increasing ten-fold over the past few years. Support Dogs provides all of its services free of charge and relies entirely on voluntary donations for funding.

Funding from trusts and charitable foundations is vital to our charities ability to provide its vital, life saving work. Support Dogs is going through a period of growth and is looking for an experienced fundraiser to provide support to help us to reach further and maximise opportunities as our existing post holder takes maternity leave.

Key Responsibilities

Partnership liaison and relationship management

• Establish the primary local referral agencies and build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with them to ensure recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme is effective
• Maintain and develop relationships with local partners to form a strong referral network.

Oversight of Spear Programme

• As a confident communicator, you will lead group sessions of around 10 young people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace, and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work
• Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Coach
• Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Resurgo and the Spear Trust, as well as their ongoing progress and sustainment of work or education.

Line Management and training

• Manage the Spear Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development
• Be line managed by Resurgo to support with the set-up and ongoing operations of the centre and report back on KPIs.

Church Community

• The Spear Centre Manager is directly employed by Alive Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community
• You will be required to establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement and backing of church members and help the Spear Coach to establish a strong presence at the church to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme
• Ensure the Spear programme is a key missional feature of the work of the church; this may involve attending church events and speaking at services.

Site management and set-up

• Work with the Church to set up the training room and IT infrastructure for the new Spear Centre in advance of opening
• Liaise with relevant staff locally on-site issues and work to resolve them as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies.
