Knowsley Carers Centre, a network partner of the Carers Trust, is a registered charity providing information, support, advice, and a voice for carers living and caring in the Borough of Knowsley.

Knowsley Carers Centre is a growing charity, established in ~October 1997 to support the borough's 16000 unpaid/family carers.

A highly motivated and experienced person is required to identify and support unpaid carers.

Proven experience of the sector and an understanding of unpaid carers’ issues are essential along with the ability to work independently.

Job Purpose: To find and assist Carers in the Knowsley area by providing advice, information, drop-in sessions, facilitating support groups, home visiting, training and a variety of other methods highlighted by Carers in Knowsley.

Duties and Responsibilities

Information and Support

All staff are expected to be familiar with the range of services and events provided by Knowsley Carers Centre.

The Carers Support Officers specifically: -

1) Provide Carers with advice and support to improve the quality of their lives and the person they care for:

This will include:

a) Completing current procedure for Carers’ Assessments and to support Carers through the Assessment process.

b) Offering Carers the opportunity to take up other services offered by KCC such as coffee mornings and Holistic Therapies.

c) Providing an empathetic and supportive ear to Carers about the difficulties they may be experiencing. Remind carers that we are here to provide a listening ear and offer our counselling service if appropriate.

d) To signpost Carers to relevant voluntary and statutory organisations.

2) Keep up-to-date with services, benefits and organisations relevant to Carers.

3) To assist in the promotion of the work of the organisation by use of media, talks, presentations, displays etc.

4) Make links with relevant statutory and voluntary organisations.

5) Use any of the above opportunities to identify hidden Carers and

Casework

1) Work on behalf of Carers both by phone and in writing to help them to obtain the services they need.

2) Make home-visits as necessary to carry out this aspect of the work and initial support to new carers via home visit with the agreement of line manager.

3) Liaise with other advice/advocacy organisations to develop and maintain referral systems.

4) Complete all the necessary administrational tasks related to the role including updating all contacts on the database.

Groups and Events

1) Setting up, administering and facilitating Carers Support Groups.

2) Organise outings and events for Carers. To liaise with the manager to raise small funds to assist with one to one support or group support.

3) Work with other members of the Knowsley Carers Centre staff team to plan, organise and facilitate special events and activities e.g. During National Carers Week.

Administration and Monitoring

1) Complete contacts on the database for every interaction with each carer. All phone calls, drop ins, home visits letters, emails and texts to have a separate contact.

2) Ensure attendees at group events whether in house or at another venue complete the signing in sheet. Complete the register for these events on the database if requested to do so. 

3) Add names to waiting lists for trips and events following the standard procedure. Make appointments for carers to attend holistic therapies following the standard procedure.

4) Write up case studies and other reports as requested by line manager.

5) To be primarily self-servicing including word processing letters, keeping appropriate records of work undertaken, write reports and complete monitoring forms.

6) All of the above are necessary for management to produce statistics and other monitoring reports to comply with funders requests outlined in the main contract and other sources of funding.

General Tasks

1) To work as part of a team contributing to the smooth and effective running of Knowsley Carers Centre.

2) To produce articles for the Carers Centre newsletter and to distribute

to various establishments around Knowsley.

3) To attend and actively participate in regular supervision, team meetings and annual appraisal sessions.

4) To undertake relevant training and staff development activities as required.

5) To undertake occasional evening/weekend work where necessary.

6) To undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by the Centre Manager.

7) All employees are expected to read and abide by the organisations policies and procedures.

The Chief Executive will be responsible for providing leadership, developing, and implementing Living Well Bromley’s strategic and operational plans, leading on partnership and business development, and being an effective advocate for the charity and its beneficiaries.

About the role

The Partnerships Officer role will be part of the Business & Industry team (11 people), who have responsibility for all funding and industry relationships across EngineeringUK. The team works strategically with stakeholders across the engineering, technology and education sectors, to support our mission to increase the number and diversity of young people choosing engineering and technology careers.

As part of the New Partnerships team (3 people), you will be helping to identify and secure new relationships with industry, to support delivery of all four areas of our organisational strategy: research and evidence, collective action, activities for schools, and advocacy.
 

This will primarily focus on securing support for our work to engage young people through:

• The Big Bang programme which comprises The Big Bang Fair, the UK’s largest STEM Careers Fair; the Big Bang at School, smaller Fairs within schools; and The Big Bang Competition
• Energy Quest and Climate Schools Programme, which are programmes to engage young people within the school environment.

About the role:

The Foundation/Domestic Abuse Prevention Practitioner (FDAP) will play a key role in working directly with individuals using harmful/abusive behaviour within their intimate relationships. The role will include suitability and risk assessments, delivery of interventions, facilitation of group programmes, risk identification, information sharing and preparation of reports for courts and other agencies.

The FDAP Practitioner will be co-located into Priority Crime Teams situated in Newport Police Station to assist with the identification, screening, and engagement of individuals using harmful behaviour in their relationships, working closely with police to provide a timely and streamlined process for earlier identification, referral, and engagement/disruption of high harm perpetrators of domestic abuse.

For this role is it essential you have excellent understanding of domestic abuse, including the impact on victims and their children. Experience of working with individuals experiencing domestic abuse/ and or causing harm. Experience of group work delivery is desirable; however, we will consider applications from candidates who demonstrate an aptitude for the role.

You will need to be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with statutory and voluntary agencies to deliver the best possible outcomes within a multi-agency setting. As well as being tenacious in support of your clients and adept at problem solving.

IT literacy is a must and candidates must evidence both the ability to use bespoke packages and excellence in their recording practice.

Your Role

Al-Khair Foundation uses Salesforce to manage relationships with our donors, supporters, and stakeholders, including recording all donations made to the organisation. Al-Khair Foundation’s Database Officer will be responsible for the monthly delivery of the income and data reconciliation processes for the Fundraising teams, which includes liaising with a wide range of external agencies and the website to successfully download and query files, update and create new supporter records on the database, process cheques and payment requests, and work closely with the Finance team to ensure all anticipated and banked income tallies correctly.

You will also work closely with colleagues in the Database team to support and maintain regular database processes, data cleansing, and other database-related functions that happen on a monthly or quarterly basis. This may include responding to and being responsible for Support Ticket queries in relation to income, data, and/or the database generally and working with external database agencies such as our web platform partners and Salesforce.

Aside from these core duties, from time to time, you may also carry out general administrative tasks on behalf of the Supporter Engagement team. This may include supporting the Supporter Care Assistant during busy periods with customer care via email and telephone and recording updates, processing invoices, and maintaining and updating team rotas and trackers.

Your Responsibilities

• Delivering the monthly data reconciliation and income reconciliation processes, which include downloading and uploading data files.
• Supporting the Fundraising teams with their monthly income recording and reconciliation.
• Liaising with external agencies and the Finance team.
• Checking for and correcting inaccuracies and updating supporter records.
• Running reports for the Fundraising and Finance teams.
• Maintaining and carrying out regular database processes, including data cleansing.
• Supporting the Database Coordinator and the Senior Data Manager to encourage best-practice use of the database across the organisation, including assisting with onboarding and new user training and being on hand for day-to-day technical support when the Database Coordinator is unavailable.
• Working with external partners (i.e., telemarketing agencies) to ensure the successful and smooth transition of data onto the database.
• Spotting and reporting database glitches and problems.
• Supporting with the ticketing system as a second point of contact in the Database team.
• Contributing to creating a culture committed to the safeguarding of children and adults and compliant with Al-Khair Foundation’s Child Safeguarding and Adults at Risk Policies.

Key Purpose:

Engage with staff and volunteers at a local and national level across RABI as well as with key external stakeholders and partners to influence compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures. Support the Senior Service Delivery Manager to implement RABI’s reporting through maintenance of effective internal recording and reporting systems (CPOMS). Promote a high level of safeguarding awareness and related training throughout the organisation guided by priorities highlighted in the safeguarding action plan. Provide a high level of safeguarding support to all staff and volunteers and embed a strong culture of safeguarding across RABI. Act as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead in the absence of the Senior Service Delivery Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

· Work alongside the Designated Safeguarding Lead to develop and enhance safeguarding practice within the organisation.

· Act as one of the first points of contact for all staff, volunteers and external queries in all matter of safeguarding.

· Daily oversight of our safeguarding system CPOMS. Follow up on any queries relating to CPOMS and develop training materials to support staff and volunteers in this area.

· Provide the Designated Safeguarding Lead with monthly report to feed into longer-term safeguarding planning.

· Work alongside the Designated Safeguarding Lead to develop and deliver safeguarding training and support sessions for staff and volunteers to create an annual training plan.

· Effectively engage with staff and volunteers at a local and national level to ensure safeguarding escalations and approaches are understood through the organisation.

· If required travel to RABI volunteer groups to provide safeguarding support.

· Work with external stakeholders and partners to understand the main thematic areas of safeguarding that are impacting the community that we support.

· Work collaboratively within RABI to share information about safeguarding trends that are happening locally or nationally.

· Lead of providing safeguarding support to regional teams and provide practical guidance on managing a range of operational safeguarding risks, increasing confidence in safeguarding practice across RABI.

· Champion safeguarding practices and procedures across all Departments, ensuring compliance and driving engagement and awareness.

· Develop working relationships with key internal stakeholders e.g. volunteering, partnerships, campaigning and fundraising to offer safeguarding input to any emerging projects.

· Maintain up to date knowledge of current practice changes and any relevant changes to wider guidance, policy and legislation; including proactively engaging with other organisations and external experts to ensure RABI’s approach is informed by and contributes to best practice within the sector.

· Manage all referrals to RABI’s counselling provision ensuring all external and internal SLA’s are adhered to.

· Undertake any other task relevant to the job purpose.

Person Specification:

Essential

· Experience of working as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

· Relevant up to date training in the specialist area of Safeguarding

· Knowledge of safeguarding practices and legislation

· Knowledge and experience of statutory agency practices and multi-agency working

· Ability to distinguish between observation, facts and information gained from others and confidently assess risk in a time sensitive manner

· Excellent communication, report-writing and recording skills

· Experience of providing safeguarding support to staff and volunteers working with adults and children who may be at risk of harm, their families and carers

· Experience of using data recording systems

· Confident working on own initiative and in communication and presenting to a wide range of staff and volunteers

· Highly organised and can manage multiple tasks and priorities

· Flexible, resilient and solution focussed working with sensitivity, integrity and without prejudice

Desirable

· Farming background or knowledge of the farming community environment.

Job Title: Caring Dads Practitioner

Hours: 22.5 hours per week across 3 days.

Salary: £16,200 per annum (£27,000.00 Full Time Equivalent)

Caring Dads exists to change current practice to better include fathers in efforts to enhance the safety and well-being of their children. The practitioner will work directly with fathers with an aim to improve relationships with their children, families, and co-parents/carers. This will include promoting the service to a range of teams across Hampshire and Southampton, to generate programme referrals. You will work closely with Hampton Trust domestic abuse perpetrator service to identify client suitability for the Caring Dads programme.

As the Caring Dads Practitioner, you will be required to deliver the Caring Dads and Accredited Domestic Abuse Prevention Training (ADAPT) Programme. This includes one to one support and group work. Groups are delivered on weekday evenings; you will be required to deliver one group work sessions per week.

You will undertake treatment and risk assessments of individuals causing harm in their relationships; this includes active case/risk management of families living with domestic abuse. Although this position is based in Ashurst, you will be co-located into social work teams across Hampshire three days per week, with an aim to providing support and advice in identifying suitable families for the Caring Dads and ADAPT programme.
