About Sebby’s Corner

Sebby’s Corner is a Barnet-based charity supporting vulnerable families and children living in poverty across London and the South East. We support thousands of families every year with clothing, nappies, formula, school uniforms, birthday gifts and more. In 2024–25, we supported almost 4,000 children and over 2,300 parents, distributing £482,993 worth of essentials.

Sebby’s Corner serves families in crisis, many of whom are experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic abuse, seeking asylum, or living in poverty. Referrals are made by frontline professionals including social workers, midwives, health visitors, and family support workers so we can ensure we are reaching the most vulnerable.

We believe by meeting immediate material needs, we can help stabilise families, reduce stress, and improve the wellbeing of both parents and children. We believe it is impossible to break free from debt, apply for work, or rebuild your life when you don’t know where your baby’s next nappy is coming from and that’s where our support begins.

About the Role

We are looking for a confident and strategic fundraiser with proven experience in major donor and corporate fundraising. You will lead our income generation, helping us to raise over £400,000 every year, with a focus on building high-value, long-term partnerships with individuals and companies. You will also oversee community fundraising, events and supporter engagement, ensuring every donor feels valued and connected to our mission.

Key Responsibilities

 

MAJOR DONORS

• Take the lead in cultivating, stewarding, and retaining high-value individual donors, ensuring they feel personally connected to Sebby’s Corner and the impact of their support.

• Grow and manage our Patronage Programme, developing tailored stewardship plans and recognition opportunities for different giving levels.

• Work closely with the CEO and trustees to leverage their networks and open doors to new prospects, building a strong pipeline of high-value supporters.

• Host and attend events, briefings, and meetings with donors to deepen relationships and encourage long-term commitment.

CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS

• Develop and deliver a proactive strategy to secure Charity of the Year partnerships, sponsorships, corporate volunteering, in-kind donations, and payroll giving schemes.

• Build and nurture long-term relationships with local and national businesses, ensuring they are engaged with Sebby’s Corner’s mission and receive excellent stewardship.

• Create engaging fundraising opportunities for companies, such as hub-based volunteering, team packathons, and staff fundraising challenges.

• Work with the Head of Operations and service teams to align corporate partnerships with organisational needs, ensuring mutual benefit and maximum impact.

INDIVIDUAL GIVING & CAMPAIGNS

• Work alongside the CEO to lead Sebby’s Corner’s annual Charity Extra appeal, including developing campaign messaging, recruiting and motivating Champions, and ensuring the appeal delivers maximum income and visibility.

• Lead on Sebby’s Corner’s own fundraising events, working with staff, volunteers, and suppliers to deliver high-quality and financially successful events.

• Lead the growth of regular giving and one-off donations, ensuring donors receive timely, personalised stewardship.

• Design and deliver seasonal appeals (e.g. School Uniform, Christmas, Father’s Day), setting clear targets and analysing results to inform future campaigns.

• Oversee the development of compelling supporter communications, including newsletters, impact stories, and social media content, to inspire donors and demonstrate transparency.

LEADERSHIP & STRATEGY

• Develop and implement a clear fundraising strategy to diversify income streams and grow sustainable, high-value support.

• Line-manage the Volunteer & Community Lead, providing guidance and support across their portfolio, which includes coordinating hub volunteers, managing challenge events (e.g. London Marathon), and supporting community groups and fundraisers.

• Contribute actively to the leadership of Sebby’s Corner, working collaboratively with the CEO and Head of Operations to shape strategy and ensure fundraising is integrated across the organisation.

• Use Salesforce to manage supporter data, monitor campaign performance, and produce accurate, timely reports for the CEO and trustees.

What We Offer

Salary & Pension 

The salary range for this role is £42,000 - £48,000 FTE per annum (gross), dependent on experience and pro-rated if you work part-time. If eligible to join the pension scheme, we will match your contributions by 5%.

Annual Leave

You will be entitled to 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays (pro-rated for part-time roles). We usually close between Christmas and New Year without this time coming off your annual leave allowance.

Head of Programmes is a key role with significant scope to grow as the charity evolves. You’ll lead on the day-to-day delivery of our programmes, including our largest single programme, Maths Circles: a small-group-based maths enrichment programme engaging talented young mathematicians nationwide. You will coordinate a large community of volunteers as well as our in-house team of part-time and freelance staff to deliver an excellent experience for students, parents, tutors and partners.

You will need to be genuinely enthusiastic about using our CRM and Google Sheets to track progress and excited about martialling the charity’s data to communicate clearly with colleagues, partners and trustees. You will take ownership of programme reporting and KPIs, using insights to identify and implement delivery improvements and demonstrate impact.

You will communicate regularly with our diverse community – including speaking directly to young people and parents to resolve issues, recruiting and training education professionals and meeting with partners to organise and manage projects. Beyond programme delivery, you’ll play a crucial part in fundraising, communications, recruitment and planning and will occasionally deputise for the Foundation Director in representing the charity externally.

The Opportunity

 General

We are seeking someone to increase our internal human resources capacity, provide support for our Operations and Core services function, including supporting the rollout of operations led projects, and to take responsibility for servicing the committees which advise and oversee the BSA.

About the role

Operations (part of the Core Services Team) provides comprehensive support across Human Resources, Compliance, and Risk Management, Data Management, and Staff Engagement and supports the delivery of strategic objectives across the organisation. The role will report to the Operations Manager for operations duties.

The BSA’s Council is responsible for determining the organisation’s overall vision and strategy and ensuring good governance. Council assumes the trustee responsibilities set out by the Charity Commission regulator. They meet four times a year, usually in London with options for Council Members to attend online. Papers are prepared by BSA staff and contractors and circulated around a week in advance of the meeting. The role will report to the CEO for Council, Governance and Committee duties.

Key responsibilities

Human Resources

• Act as the primary contact for HR service requests, escalating complex issues to the Operations Manager or outsourced HR supplier as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and employee files across all HR systems, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
• Monitor and coordinate completion of mandatory compliance training

Governance and Committees

• Lead the scheduling and logistics of Council and other committee meetings, including venue booking, catering, AV and calendar management.
• Support governance record-keeping, including minute-taking, updating statutory documents as directed by the Chair and Chief Executive, and maintaining Council member records such as declarations, attendance, and terms of office.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, by maintaining Charity Commission online records and, where appropriate working with the Chief Executive, and others as appropriate in preparing formal reports for submission to relevant regulators.

Data Management

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and employee files across all HR systems, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
• Support the Operations Manager, Internal Project Lead and teams in co-ordinating the further rollout and adoption of Salesforce and other data management systems

Compliance and Risk Management

• Policy and Documentation Management: Ensure all internal documentation (policies, staff handbook, etc.) is regularly updated and accessible on SharePoint and the company website where appropriate.
• GDPR and Data Protection: Monitor and support GDPR compliance, with a focus on data retention and secure handling of personal information.
• Compliance and Risk Logs: Assist in maintaining up-to-date compliance and risk logs, reporting issues to the Operations Manager as needed.
• Health and Safety (H&S): Support the Office Manager in coordinating staff H&S documentation and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
• Audit Preparation: Coordinate the collection and organisation of documents and information required for annual audits.

Staff Engagement and Additional Responsibilities

• Assist the Office Manager in planning and implementing staff social and engagement activities.
• Undertake additional tasks as reasonably required by the line manager, within the scope of the role.

This is a cross-functional role, working closely with Head of People, to ensure smooth onboarding, offboarding, and employee changes. Plus supporting the board of trustees with email communication, booking meetings and collating responses to policy sign off and checking availability for main board and subcommittee meetings.

The People Administrator will be the first point of contact for employee queries related to policies, systems, and HR processes.

General People Administration & Support

• Act as the first point of contact for People-related queries, providing support both face-to-face and electronically, ensuring professional and timely responses.
• Work with others across the organisation to promote awareness and provide support where required on EDI and internal Access.
• Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Head of People, including data entry, booking & delivering inductions, photocopying, scanning, preparing contractual documentation, and general correspondence.
• Maintain accurate and efficient records of all People-related activities, ensuring data is securely stored and handled in compliance with GDPR legislation.
• Monitor and manage the People and Recruitment emails, responding to and redirecting enquiries efficiently and appropriately.
• Assist with the consistent application of HOME’s policies and procedures, offering guidance to employees as required.
• Plan and organise own workload to meet deadlines, contributing to the wider People team’s service objectives.
• Ensure complete confidentiality and integrity in all aspects of the role, particularly when handling sensitive information.

Recruitment, Onboarding and Offboarding

• Support the coordination and administration of recruitment campaigns with Hiring Managers, including advertising roles, scheduling interviews, and processing candidates via the recruitment procedures.
• Deliver effective onboarding and induction processes for new starters, ensuring all steps are followed and documented, and contributing to a positive candidate experience.
• Assist with job offer processes, including drafting conditional offer letters, conducting reference checks, verifying right-to-work documentation, and updating relevant systems.
• Ensure effective communication with the Payroll Officer in relation to new starters and leavers, including checking accrued holiday balances prior to confirming leaver letters.
• Respond to reference requests for current and former employees in a timely manner.

People Systems, Data & Reporting

• Confidently use systems and other digital tools to input and maintain people’s data accurately.
• Run regular reports and provide performance or management information (MI) within agreed timescales.
• Analyse data to validate accuracy and identify trends or issues that require further attention.

· Maintain and update organisation charts and headcount data on a monthly basis

· Contribute to regular updating of the People section of the intranet.

• Carry out general People administration and maintain electronic based systems for all staff including existing and new employee details, annual leave, leaver administration, payroll changes, absence and training records.

Meetings & Communication & Board Support

• Provide administrative support for employee relations casework and people-related projects, including scheduling, document preparation, and note-taking.
• Attend and provide support at formal meetings, including disciplinary, grievance, or performance reviews, as required.
• Accurately take and distribute minutes for internal meetings, including Board, Committee, and annual staff meetings.
• Set up and coordinate meeting logistics (both virtual and in-person), including booking rooms, IT setup, and arranging access or other relevant requirements.
• Arrange and distribute board papers as directed by the CEO, record responses, and manage related meeting logistics.
• Be the key contact with the Board of Trustees – arranging the Board meetings and other engagements with them.
• Manage Companies House & Charity Commission submissions for Trustees, act as a custodian of their information and documents.

Continuous Improvement and Projects

• Support the delivery and organisation of ad-hoc People projects/ events, wellbeing activities, and internal engagement initiatives.
• Identify and resolve day-to-day issues independently, escalating matters to the Head of People as needed

You will have extensive knowledge of the voluntary and community sector (VCS) and an awareness of the changing environment for local communities and voluntary organisations and the challenges they face.

Camp Jojo is currently in transition. Over the first 8 years it has worked from one established site in Mersea, Essex; but we are now opening a second site (Nag’s Head Farm) near Appleby in Cumbria. The role of Volunteer Manager (Nags Head Farm) is to provide the management and administration of the key Volunteer sector of Camp Jojo, and to offer administrative support and feedback to members of the Camp Jojo Board in this regard.

The Volunteer Manager will be responsible for successful initial contact, recruitment, communication with and administration of volunteer for the Nag’s Head Farm camps, through to their successful placement at camp. They will also work closely with the Operations Manager: Families and Site Ops. (Nags Head Farm). They will be guided in their role with the existing managers at Ivy Farm, Mersea, Essex.

The primary task of the Volunteer Manager (Nag’s Head Farm) will be to oversee the whole process of Volunteer applications to camps at Nag’s Head Farm, and to maintain and develop databases in support of this. They will be the contact point for information and support throughout the Nag’s Head Farm volunteers’ pathway with Camp Jojo. In addition, they will attend and minute meetings which concern volunteer management, etc.

They may need to work flexibly; the demands will be seasonal, with many more hours needed through spring and summer than autumn and winter. They will also need to be present for the first day of the camps during the summer, which are mostly during the school holidays. The Director of the CDMT plays a strategic role in performing arts training, education and assessment nationally and manages the staff and resources of an organisation of UK-wide standing. The CDMT is financed primarily by membership subscriptions. As this source of income is restricted, the successful applicant will need to demonstrate a strategic business sense and a successful income-driven record that will enable the CDMT to create, diversify and take full advantage of developing opportunities.

The Director must be able to liaise effectively with all sectors of the dance, drama, music and musical theatre education communities.  They will have wide knowledge and experience of arts education at all stages of development from entry level, through Further/Higher Education to post-graduate level, and will also require an understanding of qualification frameworks in the UK.
