Job description 

1. Supporter engagement: 

• Thanking and recording donations; maintaining up-to-date supporter records 

• Supporting outreach through JRS UK events such as our Advent Service and report launches 

• Representing JRS UK at external events such as Greenbelt festival or the National Justice and Peace Network conference 

• Undertaking talks and appeals in parishes or school

2. Digital and Offline communications: 

• Producing and distributing printed materials (e.g. quarterly newsletters; publicity materials; parish resources) 

• Maintaining and developing JRS UK’s digital presence (e.g. website; social media; e-updates) 

• Capturing and managing digital assets (such as audio, photographs, and videos)

• Developing content for JRS UK’s website, newsletters, and social media – scoping and drafting content that champion refugee voices, shares our work, or engages supporters in our advocacy 

• Analysing web traffic and social media engagement to inform future activity 

3. Appeals 

• Supporting the delivery of JRS UK’s three direct-mail appeals (Advent, Lent, World Day of Migrants and Refugees) and our annual legacy appeal by: 

  • Researching and drafting content 

  • Curating and segmenting data 

  • Sourcing and producing visuals 

4. Trust fundraising  

• Stewarding relationships with some small and medium sized trusts 

• Drafting and submiting grant applications and reports 

5. Other duties as required by the Communications and Fundraising Manager or Head of Communications, Fundraising and Advocacy

The Senior Fundraising Manager is responsible for delivering Brightside’s fundraising activity with a core focus on grants from trusts and foundations, and major donors. Reporting to and working closely with the CEO, the postholder will forge new relationships with major donors and manage our grant applications to support Brightside to achieve its fundraising targets. The postholder will deliver high quality stewardship across our major donor relationships and act as the key point of contact for all grant activity, working closely with the delivery teams to support funder relationship management and reporting.

The postholder will work closely with colleagues across the organisation to develop clear cases for support for potential funding projects, as well as managing our approach to individual giving and increasing regular donations. The role will involve working closely with the CEO and the trustees, who will provide warm introductions to their networks of potential major donors and support in their stewardship.

• Identify and research trusts and foundations that would support our organisational priorities and funding needs
• Develop high quality, compelling grant applications and cases for support

About the role

You will support Trusts & Foundations and Statutory income generation for Woman’s Trust, led by the HOF. You will secure five and six-figure, multiple-year grants and support the increase of organisational income from £1.2m to £3m in the next 3 years. You will effectively communicate our services and campaign aims and develop funder partnerships and relationships aligned to our strategic priorities. Key Purpose:

As part of a growing and dynamic Fundraising team, your main duties will be to research trust and foundations, create and send applications, and steward relationships with current and prospective partners. As part of the team, you will also be involved in generating funds across various other income streams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research and identify charitable trusts that may provide future financial support to RABI whilst maximising the potential for giving from trusts with which the charity already has a relationship.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key trust representatives.
• Prepare, submit and monitor applications to charitable trusts including the maintenance of records of applications, grant receipts and successful/failed submissions. Ensure trusts are thanked for donations in timely fashion.
• Updating the CRM system to ensure activities, communications, donations and other important details are accurately recorded and maintained.

• Monitor trust income for financial purposes, ensuring all donations or grants are coded appropriately, including any restrictions upon the use of the income.

The Trusts and Grants Fundraiser is a new role brought in to support with this growing income stream. This is an initial 2 year fixed term contract with the potential to become a permanent position.

The fundraiser will work beneath and with the Fundraising Manager – Trusts to develop trust income. Specifically the post holder will manage the small trust portfolio, support with reporting on KPIs and impact, create engaging cases for support, and support the Manager with various tasks, freeing them up to develop larger, strategic bids.

About The Role

As Trusts and Grants Manager, you will manage and grow a portfolio of approximately 20 trusts giving five and six figure grants, playing a significant role in securing vital income for Place2Be. You will take ownership of key funder relationships and lead on complex, high-value funding applications and reports. You will manage your own portfolio of grants, typically ranging from £15,000-£100,000, while contributing towards an overall team target of nearly £4m for the 2026/27 financial year, working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve this shared goal.
