In a tough fundraising climate, we want someone who is not only an experienced and successful fundraiser but also someone who is bold and brave, able to hit the ground running as our Deputy Fundraising Manager.

KEY INFORMATION

Location: Manchester, Bristol, Newcastle, Nottingham, or London

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, full time

Start date: September 2025 (we are happy to work with you and your notice period)

Duration: Permanent

Salary: £33,220 - £38,370 per annum if based in London. £30,645 -£35,795 per annum if based in Manchester, Nottingham, Newcastle or Bristol. Salary banding is dependent on the skills and experience criteria detailed below. £312 yearly tax-free work from home allowance. Salaries are reviewed annually in August.

ROLE SUMMARY

This is a great opportunity for a motivated and ambitious fundraiser with experience in trusts, foundations and/or corporate fundraising to join upReach as we deliver our three-year strategy (2024–2027). The successful candidate will contribute to the growth of upReach through the development and stewardship of relationships with trusts, foundations, and corporate partners, and by helping secure five and six figure grants and gifts.

Reporting to the Senior Fundraising Manager, this role will manage a portfolio of funders and help the wider team to meet income targets. You will work collaboratively across the organisation including the delivery and impact teams, finance, partnerships, and  Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Working with stakeholders (internal and external)

• Develop and maintain positive, mutually beneficial relationships with key external contacts, including funders and volunteers.

• Champion and model a culture of outstanding relationship management. 

• Make the fundraising ‘ask’ as and when appropriate.

• Respond promptly to requests for information and action from supporters. 

• Report and disseminate the key issues to emerge from supporter feedback.

Fundraising

• Independently manage a portfolio of charitable trusts & foundations, and corporate supporters, giving at the five and six figure level. Steward these relationships delivering the highest levels of donor care. 

• Research and identify potential new funding opportunities to build the team’s pipeline. 

• Lead on the cultivation of your own pipeline of new funders, working creatively to find opportunities to engage organisations with our work. 

• Develop compelling, comprehensive funding proposals for trusts & foundations and companies, to renew existing partnerships and secure funding from new organisations. 

• Work closely with colleagues in the Data & Impact and Programmes team to prepare and write donor reports and other impact communications. 

• Contribute to the smooth delivery of philanthropic corporate partnerships including employee engagement, staff fundraising activities and volunteering.

• Prepare and thoroughly brief senior colleagues ahead of meetings with potential and existing funders. 

Financial

• Contribute to team fundraising income target (circa £2m) in line with the overarching strategy.

• Help track progress against income targets and report on performance regularly to the fundraising team.

• Contribute to the management of budgets and assist in preparing forecasts and annual plans.

• Flag risks or opportunities that may affect income generation to senior team members.

Team Support and Collaboration

• Manage team members on our graduate programme (rotatees) on fundraising projects as required.

• Play a proactive role in facilitating a positive, collaborative and high-performing fundraising team culture.

• Attend and contribute to regular team meetings and planning sessions.

• Work with teams across the organisation to ensure fundraising plans align with organisational needs and priorities.

Systems and Processes

• Maintain accurate and up to date records on the CRM to enable effective donor, supporter, supplier and volunteer relationship management. 

• Comply with the organisation’s data protection obligations, charity law and other legal requirements.

Other

• Continue to develop fundraising skills and knowledge, including keeping up to date with best practice and sector trends.

• Carry out additional fundraising and administrative tasks as needed to help the team.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful, it is anticipated that you will have experience working in a fundraising role within a charity or similar environment. The ideal candidate should display these skills: 

• Significant experience working in a fundraising or similar role within a charity or nonprofit setting, to include writing funding proposals and stewardship reports. 

• Knowledge of high value fundraising techniques including a clear understanding of prospecting, cultivating, securing and managing partnerships.

• Strong communication and storytelling skills, both written and oral, with the ability to turn complex ideas into concise and effective cases for support.

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail 

• Able to manage a varied workload and balance conflicting priorities to meet deadlines.

• Confidence working independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

• Ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• Some familiarity with data protection, GDPR and good practice in donor stewardship.

• A desire to learn, grow and develop a career in fundraising.

• A strong alignment with upReach’s mission and a passion for tackling barriers to social mobility.

Prostate Cancer Research is seeking an experience, dynamic and driven Trusts and Statutory Executive to join their team in a newly created role.

Prostate Cancer Research is a research and patient engagement organisation focused on advancing ground-breaking research and interventions into diagnosis, treatment, and care to create a future where prostate cancer no longer threatens lives. Their focus is on delivering innovative solutions and improving quality of life for patients, families, and communities affected by prostate cancer, supporting and encouraging marginalised and underrepresented communities to be part of the positive changes they are working to achieve in research, treatment and care.

The integral role of Trusts and Statutory Executive will lead on identifying and securing collaboration and funding opportunities with both existing and prospective partners to develop and manage a pipeline of strategic partners giving approximately £5,000 to £20,000, that align with PCR’s mission and core programmes of work. The post will be responsible for proactively researching new trust and statutory funding opportunities and working with the Trusts and Statutory Manager to support and lead on applications to new and existing funding partners (£20,000+). The post-holder will also provide excellent stewardship to build strong and sustainable relationships with the charity’s donors.

The ideal candidate will be a Trusts and Foundations fundraiser with demonstrable experience of developing and nurturing relationships with funders and partners, understanding complex issues and working with others to identify solutions, and producing compelling funding proposals in support of this work. You will have a background in identifying and securing at least five-figure income from prospective Trusts and Foundations and statutory income sources, as well of producing high-quality and completing proposals, reports and presentations. You will be able to build and maintain relationships with funders and key stakeholders and have excellent communication and organisational skills, supported by an excellent attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

Relationship Management

• Provide tailored, high-quality stewardship to a range of large and medium-sized Trusts & Foundations.
• Identify and pursue new funding opportunities and build relationships with new Trusts and Foundations to further grow this income stream.
• Prioritise research to constantly develop future pipeline.
• Work with Head of Philanthropy and other senior stakeholders in engaging potential funders and managing strategic Trusts & Statutory partners.

Write applications and reports

• Develop compelling funding applications for Trusts and occasionally statutory funders, articulating Resurgo's vision and strategy to persuasively engage new donors with a focus on raising five and six-figure grants.
• Stay ahead of sector trends, media, and political context to market Resurgo's interventions in a compelling way.
• Develop general communications on the work of Resurgo to inspire and update our Trust audience.

Data Management and Monitoring

• Update our internal database (Salesforce) with all donor interactions, donations and other details ina timely and efficient manner and with strong attention to detail, and analyse data to give insights' and drive future activity.
• Manage the Trusts & Foundations and Statutory pipelines and report on income and other KPIs, and ensure Trusts & Foundations team meets monthly targets and deadlines.

Line Management

• Actively manage and develop the Trusts & Foundations Executive to help them grow personally and in their role.

Originally founded in 1823, Seashell Trust is a nationally recognised and registered charity based in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport. About the role

Your role will contribute to Seashell’s ambitious plans to grow income over the next five years, so that we can deliver the very best education and care for our children and young adults.

Key Responsibilities

• Raise income in line with agreed personal and team fundraising targets
• Develop and prepare bespoke funding applications for capital, restricted and unrestricted projects
• Maintain and develop existing relationships with small and medium-sized trusts and foundations and support  prospecting to grow the portfolio.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the CEO, we are looking for an experienced charity finance person, with accountancy qualifications.  (CIMA,CIPFA, CCAB, ACCA, AAT etc)

This a pivotal role and the post holder will be a member of the Trust’s Senior Management Team, with responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the Trust’s finances, working closely with CEO and Board.

The role would suit someone who is motivated by the Trust’s purpose and who is good at building relationships.

Main responsibilities

· Alongside external accountant, manage the maintenance of the financial accounting system and monthly accounting processes (BACS runs, Expenses, Accruals, Prepayments, Deferred Income, Payroll etc)

Role Summary

An exciting opportunity has become available for a talented and enthusiastic Trusts and Statutory Fundraiser to join a high performing and friendly fundraising team.

As a key member of the Trusts and Grants Team, the Trusts and Statutory Fundraiser will work closely with the Head of Trusts and Grants to raise funds from a portfolio of charitable trusts in accordance with Child Bereavement UK’s budgets and targets.

We are looking for someone with proven experience of generating income from trusts and foundations.

You will have:

• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to write researched, powerful and compelling copy
• Excellent research skills to identify prospective funders
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Experience working with commissions is desirable but not essential

This role comes at a particularly important time for CBUK when the charity is looking to evolve and grow services, diversify into new areas, and raise significant funds for ongoing work. Based in our Philanthropy Team in Fundraising, the postholder works with our clinical, estates and governance teams creating compelling proposals to secure mostly restricted income. If you have great digital competence, including the use of AI to summarise information, are an excellent storymaker able to understand an audience, quickly synthesize information and pitch in writing for success, or an early-career fundraiser ready to develop, in this role you will make a difference and work as part of a creative successful team. Understanding how to keep our ask fresh and steward these relationships is key.  You will inherit a portfolio of trust and grant funders who have committed support over the long term and a portfolio that delivers at least £180k in income each year. You will work with colleagues on well-established campaigns like The Big Give and support experienced volunteers who handle small grants. This role has space for innovation to secure new funders and uplift existing contributions.

Rasing Funds:

· Ensure an inclusive, engaging and best-in-class experience for Trusts and grant makers

· Manage an annual rolling programme of applications and multi-year funding reporting requirements. 

· Deliver medium, large and complex bids for unrestricted and restricted income to ensure success to an income level of at least £150k to fund initiatives including for example: direct delivery of care, volunteering initiatives, new routes into work for protected groups, equipment and capital projects.

· Robust and regular research of funding opportunities, new trusts, and wider horizon scanning to identify a broad base of opportunity to refresh and renew the pipeline of prospective funders

· Steward existing trust donors, finding opportunities to cultivate and grow the relationship.

· Prepare and submit high-quality, tailored grant applications to secure funding for specific projects and core activities

· Maintain and develop relationships with existing trust and foundation donors

· Be the first point of contact for trust and grant funders and supporters and, for colleagues internally who have questions/queries or have an interest in this area of funding

· Manage a pipeline of prospective funders, ensuring timely follow-up and tracking of application statuses

· Help to create and deliver moments of stewardship that are personal to each funder, show the impact of their support and inspire them when they can, to have an on-going relationship with the charity.

· Be volunteer team leader recruiting volunteers to support your role, ensuing they are inducted and supported. As the wider team help ensure all volunteers feel supported when their respective team leader is away.
