Trusts and Grants Fundraising - Tasks and Responsibilities 

• Research and identify new trust and foundation prospects.

• Working to consolidate and grow our group of recurring donors.
• Support with processing payments and donations online, in-person and over the phone, depositing cheques and cash donations.

Events Support

• Help coordinate logistics and communications for fundraising events.
• Track income and pledges from events like the Annual Lunch.
• Support with ticketing, invoicing, and donor follow-up.

Collaboration and Compliance

• Work closely with colleagues across fundraising, finance, comms, and operations.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR and data protection regulations.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture.

Read for Good’s Grants and Trusts Manager leads on securing high-value income for the national charity from trusts and foundations, typically securing one-off and multi-year grants in the five- to six-figure range. You will research and cultivate prospective funders, produce compelling, tailored proposals, programme reports and manage a strong pipeline of funding opportunities. You will also develop and steward long-term funding relationships that align with our mission and strategy, building on our well established and robust pipeline. In addition to your own portfolio, you will support the wider grants and fundraising team, helping to deliver on team targets, strengthen internal processes, and ensure high-quality reporting and compliance.

This is a key role in the charity’s income generation strategy and will work closely with senior colleagues to shape fundable programmes and plan for long-term sustainability. 

Terms of Employment

Reporting to: Head of Fundraising

Location: Read for Good office based in Nailsworth (due to location, own transport is desirable); we take a flexible approach to working from home

Salary: Circa £35k to £41k (depending on experience)

Hours: 35 hours a week (part-time role will be considered for the right candidate)

Annual leave: 25 days, plus bank holidays; additionally, full organisational closure between Christmas and New Year Pension: Workplace pension 3% employer, 5% employee with flexibility to change contributions

Key responsibilities

Income Generation and Fundraising

• Research and develop a strong pipeline of new and existing high-value trusts and grant-making prospects (typically five- and six-figure applications).
• Write compelling, tailored funding proposals that align with funder interests and organisational priorities.
• Manage and track income performance, reporting on progress against individual and team targets.
• Build strong, long-term relationships with funders and secure repeat and multi-year funding in the region of £400K p.a.

Team Management and Development

• Provide support and guidance to the wider Grants team, including freelance support as well as support cross organisational cooperation and team work
• Help co-ordinate workloads and funding pipeline, and ensure high standards across all funding applications and reports.
• Help foster a collaborative team culture and support colleagues’ professional development

This role will give you the opportunity and responsibility to build on our successful fundraising and extend our appeal to new donors as well as maintain our existing supporters. You will need demonstrable fundraising experience and the ability to work confidently as a strategic thinker as well as a practical fundraiser. We're looking for a passionate individual to join Orchard Hill College & Academy Trust as our Head of Fundraising. This is a new senior strategic position within Orchard Hill College & Academy Trust (OHC&AT), with overarching responsibility for all Fundraising across the organisation. The Role 

Fundraising and Impact Coordinator

o Assist in the planning and execution of a diverse range of fundraising applications, events and community initiatives

o Support the management of event logistics, including participant communication, volunteer coordination, and on-the-day activities

o Collaborate with external partners and suppliers to ensure smooth event operations and build strong relationships for future collaboration

o Experience of working within the charity sector with fundraising and impact gathering and presentation

o Profound understanding of the issues facing marginalised Londoners, particularly women, from ethnically minoritised communities

o Experience working with minoritised Global Majority women and a diverse staff team applying anti-discriminatory practice

o A resilient and assertive approach to reaching out and building trust and positive relationships with funders, donors and other stakeholders

o Awareness of the intersectionality affecting our service users and how to speak confidently about this to funders, donors and other stakeholders

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised fundraiser who will be focussed on securing gifts from trusts and foundations. You will have previous experience of researching and writing detailed information. You should be a team player with excellent communication skills and be highly IT literate.
