In March 2025, Smart Works completed their Three-Year Plan that saw the charity double the number of women helped annually from 5,000 to 10,000 women a year. To achieve this, we grew our existing centres and opened a new centre.

About this role

This is an exciting role that will lead the relationship management of our most important, high value retail brands, without which our service could not be delivered. Supported by the Head of Events & Community Fundraising, you will work closely with the Partnerships Team and the Wardrobe Team to deliver essential client and events stock. In addition to delivering client and events stock, you will also focus on raising money from retail partners, particularly with activations linked to International Women’s Day and Giving Tuesday.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining a portfolio of retail brands, conducting excellent stewardship, bespoke tailored support, with a real understanding and insight into the challenges and opportunities within the retail sector, and an ability to influence and negotiate on the charity’s behalf. 

We seek an excellent relationship manager, with strong written and verbal communication skills, an ability to influence senior stakeholders and exceed set targets. An understanding of women’s fashion would also be advantageous.

St Giles and The Wise Group came together to form a partnership with the aim of supporting the Probation Resettlement reforms by offering a high-quality service underpinned by staff who have lived experience and cultural competency. As a result, we have been awarded contracts to deliver Women’s Services for North Yorkshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, and Durham. The service will provide holistic support to sentenced women in the community and those sentenced and un-sentenced in custodial settings.

About this key role

Our successful candidate will monitor and manage the receipt of referrals from Probation through the Customer Approved System (CAS) ensuring they are successfully assigned to Personal Wellbeing Coaches using the appropriate guidance and process, ensure all inputting is accurate and within agreed timescales, plus provide regular activity reports to the Personal Wellbeing Manager.  You will be the primary point of contact for all enquiries, external and internal to ensure communication channels are clear and effective, while also liaising with external stakeholders (e.g. Prisons), delivery partners, spot purchase providers and other agencies to arrange appointments, referrals, and generally ensure information exchanged is done in a clear, timely and effective manner.

Monitor and manage the Case management systems to ensure all inputting is accurate and within agreed timescales and provide regular activity reports to the Senior Administrator. Providing administration for meetings, including bookings, invitations and minute-taking, are also vital duties.

What we are looking for

• Experience of managing a case management system including inputting data and creating reports.
• ·Experience of working in services providing administrative support in a busy, pressurised environment.
• Experience of working in services which provide support to people who have faced adversity and disadvantage.
• Ability to develop and maintain means by which compliance with policy and procedure can be effectively monitored and reported on including financial expenditure.
• Ability to manage their workload including prioritising tasks and communicating with colleagues where delegation or allocation is required.
• Ability to create and communicate performance reports in a variety of formats.
• Ability to input data onto Customer Relationship Management Systems accurately and within agreed deadlines.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable weather and climate scientist to join us at The Royal Meteorological Society (RMetS) as the Science Engagement Officer.

This is an exciting career opportunity for an individual who is keen to use their skills and knowledge to make a positive impact and advance the understanding of weather and climate in society through informal education. In this role, you will provide scientific support across science engagement project development, delivery and wider RMetS team operations. Reporting to the Head of Publishing and Scientific Engagement, you will have responsibility for developing training materials and co-delivering sessions for our climate change communication training, and you will deliver RMetS early career initiatives such as our career events. You will also create engaging content for various RMetS activities and stakeholders, and work with the media to enhance public awareness of weather and climate.

• Develop training materials and co-deliver sessions for our RMetS training programme, including climate change communication training.

Essential criteria you will need to demonstrate:

• Extensive knowledge across weather and climate, and evidence of involvement in activities to ensure ongoing current knowledge across diverse areas.

We’re looking for a Senior STH Practitioner who can manage the delivery of high quality and effective Social and Therapeutic Horticulture (STH) programmes in London for adults and young people with a range of disabilities and health conditions.

We are seeking a new Finance and Administration Officer following the retirement of a long-serving team member. A key member of the SLA central office team, the Finance and Administration Officer plays a vital role in ensuring smooth financial operations and providing essential administrative support for our membership. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, book-keeping and effective day-to-day financial operations, producing financial reports using our CRM (IMIS) and XERO, in addition to administration support.

You will be experienced in financial and administration operations of a charity or similar , with an AAT qualification or matching worked experience. Familiarity with XERO will be an advantage. You will be able to bring understanding of cashflow and financial analysis of figure, working with accountants as required.

You will also have excellent customer service skills and be able to work effectively with all stakeholders from our members, to funders to suppliers. You will be determined and have an excellent eye for financial and administrative detail. Your duties will include general administration and:

Financial operations and record-keeping

• Manage day-to-day financial transactions and maintain accurate records of all SLA accounts and petty cash; book-keeping
• Process and record all incoming payments, including foreign cheques (into bank account)
• Monitor cashflow and expenditure, keeping track of spending
• Pay invoices upon approval and ensure timely monthly payments (e.g. pensions, HMRC)
• Handle creditor and supplier communications and resolve related issues
• Monitor and follow up on overdue payments with a focus on membership payments

Invoicing and income tracking

• Issue and track membership and subscriber invoices and reminders
• Keep office team informed of payment statuses
• Prepare sales, cost, and profit reports for SLA publications
• Conduct annual publications stock take

Payroll and reporting

• Liaise with the accountant on salary payments; process salary BACS payments
• Support year-end financial reporting by providing necessary documentation to accountants
• Produce regular financial reports and analysis as required
• Supporting preparation of budgets, working with accountants as required

 Event financial administration

• Manage financial aspects of SLA events, particularly the annual conference (e.g., exhibitors, sponsors, and delegates)
• Process and record staff/trustee expense claims
• Support with bookings accommodation and travel for Board meetings

To be successful in this role you should demonstrate:

• Strong experience in financial and office administration
• Knowledge of accounting principles  
• Experience of working with XERO or similar
• Experience of using CRM systems (ideally IMIS)
• Experience of working for a small charity and / or membership association
• Accuracy, numeracy, attention to detail
• Ability to manage own workload, prioritise and meet competing deadlines
• Excellent customer service manner

JOB PURPOSE

The Group Manager will have strategic management responsibility for all services delivered within the Housing Service. The Group Manager's role is to ensure that the operation of the housing service is managed professionally and that the Head of Partnerships and Housing is competently supported in the provision of housing related services to residents in Bridgend County Borough Council.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:

· Oversee and manage the Housing and Homelessness Service for the Council and provide advice to the Head of Partnerships and Housing on all Housing related matters.

· Oversee the planning and delivery of the overarching commissioning and planning objectives for Housing and the Housing Support Grant, ensuring they contribute towards targeting those most in need in the community.

· Initiate and develop partnerships and multi-disciplinary working with other local authorities, regional and national bodies and other public/ private/third sector partners necessary to deliver the housing service.

· Manage the delivery of new affordable housing, oversee the monitoring and management of grant to maximise the investment in in Bridgend County Borough Council including but not limited to Social Housing Grant, Transitional Capital Programme, s106, Recycled Capital Grant etc.

· Proactively develop relationships with all departments across the Authority, providing strategic input regarding the delivery of housing related services as part of a wider review of developments across the Authority.

· Oversee and promote the delivery of the Leasing Scheme Wales by working with private householders or landlords to bring properties back into use to support the social housing market.

· Oversee the development of temporary accommodation options in the area including the use of HMO accommodation and modular housing

· Oversee the Disabled Facility Grant service.

· Lead on all aspects of housing and homelessness services working by with Elected Members, corporate managers and service teams to achieve excellence.

· Initiate and develop partnerships and multi-disciplinary working with other local authorities, regional and national bodies and other public/ private/third sector partners as necessary to deliver the housing and community regeneration service.

· Keep up-to-date with best practice in Housing and Homelessness services with the aim of delivering a modern, innovative service ensuring all aspects of the service meet Bridgend County Borough Council’s ambition to provide the best local services in Wales.

· Lead on the creation of all Housing related policies across the Council and to advise the Head of Partnerships and Housing accordingly.

· Implement and manage service level agreements, contracts and negotiations with external suppliers and partners to ensure they meet the appropriate needs of Bridgend County Borough Council.

About you

Confident in copywriting and editing, you’ll be able to tailor messaging to different audiences and inspire supporters through engaging communications.

Organised and proactive, you will thrive when managing multiple projects and deadlines, balancing attention to detail with the bigger picture. You’ll also be confident in analysing data to extract insights, identify trends, and make informed recommendations to improve campaign performance.

You will be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, and able to adapt your approach to ensure both excellent supporter experiences and the achievement of campaign KPIs. Experience with CRM systems (especially Microsoft Dynamics), international charities or humanitarian aid, managing print campaigns, or delivering stewardship events would be an advantage.

Personally, you will bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and build strong relationships.
