For many it is a huge concern as to whether they will be able to return to their current occupation or employer or whether they will ever be able to work or volunteer again following their spinal cord injury.
Back Up’s vocation service aims to be the leader in supporting people with spinal cord injury to return to work and our Vocation Coordinators are the main point of contact to help service users reach their vocational goals. They work in partnership with spinal units and other stakeholders such as employers to raise aspirations, coordinating activities such as our Skills for Work courses and Careers Fair, as well as providing telephone support to service users.
You’ll be a confident communicator with excellent organisational skills in person, in writing and on the telephone. You’ll enjoy planning and delivering work to see projects through; be that independently or as part of a wider team.

When a family member has a spinal cord injury, it can be difficult to acknowledge and accept that their injury will affect you too.
You might find it difficult to express and share how you have been affected by these events, especially to your loved one with the injury. Overwhelming feelings of guilt, helplessness, confusion and isolation are very common.
Back Up’s Family Support team are there to help. Right from the point of injury, our Family Support Coordinators work together with the family and the injured person to create their own ‘Family Plan’ - making sure they have access to information and support throughout the rehabilitation journey.
As a Family Support Coordinator, you will build relationships with professionals to encourage referrals and manage a caseload. Job Purpose
This is a new role created to assist the small but growing team at SKT with our primary goal of engaging and mobilising residents in the neighbourhood we serve, numbering around 7500 people. SKT will assume management of community and event spaces at the heart of the neighbourhood this year and we are preparing service providers to make room for community voice in shaping local services. Main Tasks:

Global Generation is looking for a Youth Programmes and Outreach Coordinator who is passionate about engaging young people and local communities in reaching their full potential and creating positive social and environmental change. In this role, you will co-lead on the outreach and engagement of local communities, especially with a focus on involving and recruiting young people, as well as planning and facilitation of land-based, cooking and creative workshops. You will particularly focus on working with communities in Islington as we increase our engagement initiatives towards the co-build of our permanent community garden in King’s Cross (which sits on the Islington side), due to start this summer.

This role is primarily based at the Story Garden and Floating Garden in King’s Cross (and eventually on the new garden we will be building) and working with our Islington community. The programmes you will coordinate and co-facilitate are:

Friday Night Out: Fortnightly after-school cooking programme (4:00-6:30pm), engaging children (8-12 year olds) in discovering the joys of seed to plate, seasonal and sustainable food, growing, harvesting and cooking their own produce. You will work alongside one of our chefs so do not need to be a chef, though an interest in sustainable food and gardening experience is desirable

Generator programme: Regular after-school workshops and experiences for young people aged 13+, incorporating a range of approaches and hands-on and reflective activities to support the holistic development of young people and encourage them to take social and environmental action in their communities

Partnership with Heatherwick Studio as part of a collaborative Young Inspirers programme, linking local school children with opportunities in their studio
You will also work with the Youth & Community Team to plan and deliver community / intergenerational events and experiences that bring people of different ages together.

You will be able to communicate your passion for Global Generation’s work, the natural environment and social justice to others, particularly young people, in a creative and engaging way, responding to where people are at, and adapting your approach based on this. You will have prior experience of working with schools and finding ways to make the offer relevant to the priorities and needs of young people.
You will readily pick up the phone, follow up on emails sent, visit other organisations and schools, and offer activities in spaces where people are at. You will be working for a youth charity committed to providing a safe and inspiring place for all young people. About the role:
The Achieving Potential programme at SHP supports SHP clients with options and opportunities to build their confidence, learn new skills and try new things. We are recruiting to an exciting new post within our team, having recently secured funding to take forward our digital inclusion offer.
People experiencing homelessness are often from the most socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds and are digitally excluded. Digital access is crucial for peoples’ independence – e.g. accessing Universal Credit or GPs, but it’s also fundamental in addressing isolation and loneliness. Feeling connected to others can be the difference between someone continuing their journey out of homelessness or falling back into drug-use due to isolation/loneliness – we want to break the vicious cycle between digital and social exclusion.
As the Digital Inclusion Project Coordinator, your objectives will be to spearhead initiatives aimed at increasing digital inclusion within SHP’s diverse communities. This multifaceted role requires a blend of strategic planning, community engagement, technological proficiency, and environmental stewardship. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders from both withing SHP and externally to develop and implement sustainable solutions that bridge the digital divide and minimize the environmental impact of electronic waste.
About you:
- Demonstrated experience in community outreach, project management, and stakeholder engagement, preferably in the fields of digital inclusion, sustainability, or social justice.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to engage with diverse audiences and communicate complex concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
- Strong analytical skills and creative problem-solving abilities to identify barriers, develop innovative solutions, and address complex challenges related to digital exclusion and e-waste management.
- Willingness to embrace change, navigate ambiguity, and adapt strategies in response to evolving priorities, emerging trends, and feedback from stakeholders and community members.
- Confidence to promote the benefits of the digital world and to challenge traditional silos and system barriers, as well as the ability to use different approaches and methods of communication with different stakeholder in order to achieve this
- The willingness and ability to provide flexible support, including support in the community and a variety of settings
- Proven ability to cultivate and maintain productive partnerships with different agencies, non-profit organizations, businesses, and other stakeholders to leverage resources

As our Growing Minds Family Coordinator, you will help promote and deliver the work of the Growing Minds project – a collaborative, place-based project to support children’s development, from birth to five. In this role you will work directly with families, in our project area – Littlemore, in Oxford. This may include contacting families to engage them with our offer of support, assessing families support needs, providing in home support, and supporting families to attend local groups and other activities.

Charity People are delighted to be working with RSPCA Northamptonshire, and small and independent branch of the RSPCA, to recruit a Community Welfare Hub Coordinator.
RSPCA Northamptonshire carries out vital work to save animals that have been neglected, mistreated, or subjected to cruelty, working with local vets to ensure that each animal receives the treatment they need for injuries or health problems, and educating about responsible pet ownership. The charity also ensures all animals are vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, flea and worm treated before being rehomed. All funds are raised through charity shops, fundraising events, grants, and public donations.
The Community Welfare Hub Coordinator will be responsible for the daily management of the RSPCA Community Hub in Rushden, support the welfare outreach work in the local community, and care for animals before they move int foster care. Full training will be provided.
Key responsibilities
* You will lead community engagement efforts, educating and supporting the public on welfare advice and services.
* You will oversee the care of animals temporarily housed at the Hub before they go into foster care, ensuring National RSPCA Standards are met.
* You will assist with the daily management and operation of the Community Hub, working closely with Hub team members and volunteers, including recruiting, training, and supervising Hub volunteers, ensuring a well-coordinated and effective team.
* You will manage the welfare clinic diary, maintain the clinic room, and ensure it is well-stocked, as well as ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
* You will assist with operations, such as welfare events, manage the availability of fundraising materials and event equipment, and handle branch donations.
The Community Welfare Hub Coordinator will have a passion for animals and knowledge of the RSPCA's mission and values. The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage workload independently and a dedicated work ethic. You will have a sense of humour and will be a strong team player. Knowledge of the branch and its welfare work would be advantageous, but full training would be provided.
You would be joining a supportive and professional working environment. The role is based at the Community Hub in Rushden with travel to other sites in Daventry and Brixworth in Northamptonshire. Transport for work is reimbursed in line with the staff expenses policy. There will be some weekend work and you will be part of a rota which will be around 1 day a weekend per month. The role is full time, 35 hours per week, or could be split between two colleagues, each working part time, with one responsible for the animal welfare side of the role and the other the management of the community hub. This would be 15-20 per week per role and the salary would be pro rata.
