Position Overview
This is an exciting and unique internship opportunity supporting SEED Madagascar’s media and communications output. This position will focus on social media management support, visual content design, and image selection and arrangement. It is ideal for a motivated individual interested in learning new skills and gaining practical experience within the communications team of an international development and conservation organisation.

About the organisation
SEED Madagascar is a British Charity working in partnership with communities in the southeast of Madagascar. We integrate high quality community health, livelihoods, education infrastructure and conservation programmes to support sustainable change and add to international best practice through research and publication across all of our programmatic areas.
Location: Remote
Timeframe: 6 months extendable – flexible 2 days a week
Contract: Voluntary, unsalaried
Reporting to: Media and Communications Officer

Duties and responsibilities 
1. Responsible for planning and drafting platform-specific content for SEED’s social media accounts and support with the implementation of a new TikTok strategy, following a clear briefing from the Media and Communications Coordinator and Officer. 
2. Using video editing software CapCut to produce video content for use on SEED’s TikTok and Instagram accounts. 
3. Using Canva to produce exciting visual content for use across SEED’s social media accounts, ensuring that all brand guidelines are adhered to. 
4. Monitoring and reporting on performance KPIs for SEED’s online output. 
5. Support the management and arrangement of SEED Madagascar’s image drive, suggesting images that are appropriate for use in our online output from a bank of photographs.
6. Gain a detailed understanding of all of SEED’s programmes.
7. Any other tasks the Media and Communications Officer deems necessary within the broad remit
of this role.

Qualifications
● Hold or be studying towards an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in or relating to media
and communications, international development, or have comparable field experience.
● Have experience managing social media accounts.
● Have experience writing high-level copy, appropriate for varying audiences.
● Proven high standard of written and verbal communication and editing skills.
● Proven experience in following clear instructions and staying in keeping with brand guidelines
and expectations, sometimes in sensitive circumstances.
● Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to SEED’s ethos and approach and be a good
ambassador for the organisation at all times.
● Be punctual and be able to work to tight deadlines in an organised manner and to a high
standard.
● Ability to work well under pressure to meet targets and deadlines.
● Proactive, creative and resourceful.
● Experience of both collaborative team and independent working.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
● Proficiency in the use of the visual design platform Canva.
● Proficiency in the use of video design platforms such as CapCut.
● Be able to financially support themselves for the duration of their internship as there is no
stipend.

We now must sustain what we have built and help take the charity to that next level where we can elevate the voices of those we support, so that their needs are not only understood, but are also prioritised and used to inform policy and planning.

Over past decades, enormous advances have been made in our understanding of MS. Research has got us to a critical point, and we can see a future where nobody needs to worry about their MS getting worse. Our Stop MS Appeal needs to raise £100 million to find treatments for everyone with MS.

Our Stop MS Champions help us reach more people and inspire them to get involved in our Stop MS Appeal by encouraging raising funds and awareness by delivering presentations, attending events and identifying new audiences to speak to. They inspire people to engage with and influence fundraisers and groups, enthuse people and make sure our community’s voice is heard.

As our Lead Stop MS Champion, you’ll motivate your team of Stop MS Champions to help reach more people and inspire them to get involved in our Stop MS Appeal.

By using your ability to motivate and support, you will oversee and lead a team of 5-10 Stop MS Champion volunteers, encouraging them to engage the people they know to raise funds and awareness, and provide reliable information and guidance.

You’ll also network to engage with and influence fundraisers and community groups, enthusing people by delivering presentations at events and finding new audiences to speak to. In this role, as well as developing your leadership, networking, influencing, communication, organisation and presentation skills, you’ll have a chance to be part of something amazing – you could help us stop MS.

We are seeking to appoint a treasurer (voluntary role) to sit on the board of trustees at Know Your Worth. Know Your Worth is a charity dedicated to helping teenage girls grow self-esteem. Trustees are at the heart of this mission. As a trustee, you help shape the future of our charity. You bring your experience, insight, and care to help guide our strategy, hold us accountable to our values, and ensure our resources are used wisely. 

 We are specifically looking for someone with:

• A passion for the cause of helping teenage girls to grow self-esteem
• Senior finance experience (10+ years).
• Previous treasurer experience on another board (ideally within the charity or non-profit sector).
• An ability to work as a team, courage to challenge constructively where appropriate, whilst being self-aware.
• An awareness of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship. Being available (within reason) to support the CEO with any financial queries or issues

Provide holistic end-of-life care to people who are suffering of a terminal illness, under the direction of the Palliative Care Nurse Team Leader. By caring for those often isolated, hopeless, and fearful, this position is a living example of God’s love and compassion for the weak, lonely, and marginalised members of society. This position works primarily off-ship; hot and dusty or wet (depending on season) conditions can be expected. Visiting people in their house requires cultural sensitivity.

Volunteering in the shop

Our Holywood, Belfast Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

The Registration Advisory Panel are seeking a Legal Representative for this panel. As a member of the Registration Advisory Panel, you will offer legal insights that ensure compliance with required standards and regulations for the wider psychological workforce. The Registration Advisory Panel are responsible for strategic oversight of the Wider Psychological Workforce Register and reports directly into the Board of Trustees with the following role and remit:

The Senior Chef is responsible for the daily planning and preparation of the on-board menus, training of the Galley Team, hygiene, safety and cleanliness of the Galley areas. This position supports the Food Services Manager by ensuring the Galley Team Leaders have everything they need to complete their daily tasks and supply the crew with well-balanced, nutritious, and enjoyable meals.

   Ensure coordination for supplies and food preparation between Galley teams.

• Contribute and coordinate with Food Services Manager for the 6-week menu and long-term supply order.

• Oversight of cleanliness and hygiene of Galley areas by conducting daily spot checks.

• Carry out final walk-through of the Galley in the evening to ensure high standard of cleanliness and all equipment is switched off and stowed appropriately.

• Train Galley crew in preparation, hygiene and safety procedures as laid out in Food Services SOP.

• Take lead on special functions and coordinate for events requiring catering.

• Working outside of regular hours as required.

• Assist the Food Services Manager.

• Attend departmental meetings on all workdays.
