What we need from you

You’ll be:

• Being part of a team that identifies suitable homes for cats in care
• Providing potential adopters with basic cat care information
• Completing homing questionnaires with potential adopters ‘virtually’, as well as face to face, which may involve visiting the homes of potential adopters
• Carrying out follow up communications if required
• Using online map searches to match cats and kittens to new homes

Time expectation

Our cat match volunteers usually spend 2 to 3 hours a week in this role which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

The purpose of this volunteer role is to support the CHRRASDA in mobilising funds for projects, documentary screenings, advocacy activities, and community interventions.

Donation Research Assistant (Volunteer)

International Aid for the Protection & Welfare of Animals (IAPWA) was founded in 2009 and aims to provide protection and improve the welfare of animals in need. Our first project is based in Borneo, where we provide a lifeline to thousands of dogs and cats every year in need of veterinary care and support. Our companion animal programmes have since developed in other countries, including Romania and Penang Island, as well as support programmes to help other species.

We are currently looking for Donation Research Volunteers to help support our Online Retail Team. This role will enable us to continue raising vital funds for our animals in need by helping to identify potential sources for donations of goods for our monthly online auctions and other fundraising platforms. 

Tasks will include:

• Researching suitable businesses to reach out to for potential donations.

• Develop relationships with donors, providing regular communication and support when needed. 

• Record and track donations received for our monthly online auctions.

• Collaborate with the team to identify best fundraising options. 

Ideally you will;

About Circular Kitchens

Circular Kitchens is a social enterprise and membership platform designed to help restaurants, cafés, pubs, food stalls, and other catering businesses become fully circular: Plastic Free, Ecological, Local, and Zero Waste.

By working with the hospitality sector, we are helping regenerate local communities, strengthen regional food systems, and increase demand for ecological and regenerative agriculture in the UK. Our current focus is launching Circular Kitchens in Whitstable and supporting our first mover restaurants to achieve 3 Star Circular Kitchens certification. Based on learnings from this pilot, we are preparing to scale across the UK, growing our environmental and social impact.

Role Description

We are seeking a volunteer to support our operations and early-stage platform development, with a focus on how we manage restaurant tools, pledges, and audits using Coda.

Initially, the volunteer will have the opportunity to support updates to our existing Coda database to reflect new language, helping ensure outdated wording is replaced in line with our latest templates and that language is consistent across the platform.

As they become familiar with the structure, the volunteer may also contribute to the design of a Master Coda Document to help centralise data currently spread across multiple sections. This work supports the early foundations of a scalable platform designed to support hundreds of Circular Kitchens members over time. The role may also include light “vibe programming,” using AI tools to assist with formulas and logic within Coda tables.

An Ideal Candidate Will Be:

• A student or recent graduate with an interest in computer science, sustainability, business, data analytics, or a related field

• Technically confident (e.g. comfortable working with digital tools, spreadsheets, or information management platforms like Coda)

• Comfortable working with evolving, early-stage systems

• Well organised with strong attention to detail

Help shape a new, parent-powered movement for positive change in primary schools

MFS supports parents/carers and schools to take early, constructive action to prevent harmful gender norms and misogyny, by building parent networks, supporting school engagement, creating practical resources, and amplifying real stories of change.

1: Community & Communications Lead

Purpose of role: You will create and guide a Whatsapp community for parents, raise the profile and manage MFS’s voice online through storytelling and social media
Skills/experience helpful: Communications, campaigns, community organising, digital engagement, social media including analytics and metrics, compelling writing, storytelling, content creation, canva (or other tools)
What you’ll do: Build and moderate the parent WhatsApp community, develop and deliver communications strategy, shape narrative, tone, voice and messaging, help grow an engaged parent network

2: Web & Digital Builder (short term)

Purpose of role: You will co-design and build the MFS website including the parent and school resource hub
Skills/experience helpful: Web design, no-code platforms (e.g. Squarespace/Wix), UX, digital project setup, website performance tracking, knowledge of GDPR and data protection regulations
What you’ll do: Create an impactful and easily navigable website for parents and schools, organise information and link resources, support the digital infrastructure of the campaign, train up team members to add and adapt content

3: Education Specialist

Purpose of role: You will create tools and support the MFS community on engagement with schools and LEAs
Skills/experience helpful: Education, safeguarding, creating tools, curriculum, school engagement, education policy, experience with LEAs, trusts, ofsted etc
What you’ll do: Identify and curate age-appropriate resources, shape school-facing content, support parents outreach to primary schools, ensure approaches are constructive, supportive and practical

4: Research & Policy

Purpose of role: You will build our evidence base, translate research and policy into accessible insights and actions, position MFS as a credible, evidence-led voice
Skills/experience helpful: Equality, safeguarding, wellbeing, or education policy, ability to synthesize and translate complex research and policy into accessible language
What you’ll do: Build and maintain MFS evidence base, track key UK research and policy developments and produce accessible briefings, inform campaign and strategy with evidence and policy insight

Time commitment: Flexible and realistic (anything upwards of 2 hours / week)

Location: Fully remote (great if we can occasionally meet in person)

The role in a nutshell:

Age UK Cheshire's Sharing Time Reconnect Befriending service strives to reduce loneliness and isolation by matching our volunteers with older people via a meaningful befriending relationship.

Please note: You must be located within Cheshire to apply for this volunteering role.

What will you be doing?

You will be calling a lonely older person for a chat with the aim of developing a long term, meaningful befriending relationship which is positive for both parties. You will not only prevent an older person from feeling lonely and isolated, you will also hear amazing stories and share meaningful moments. 

How would you be supported in this role?

Our volunteers receive an initial induction into the work and policies of our charity and then specific training on befriending and safeguarding. You will be part of a caring and experienced team and have the support of a dedicated service coordinator. 

Why do we need volunteers in this role?

Loneliness among older people is a growing crisis. By volunteering with Age UK Cheshire’s Sharing Time project, you will offer more than a regular telephone call – you will offer a lifeline to older people in your community. 

Befriending phone calls usually last around 30 minutes. They are typically weekly but can be flexible depending on the individual you are supporting and their circumstances. They continue indefinitely or until one party’s circumstances change. 

What skills, interests or experience might be helpful in this role?

• A good listener, patient, friendly and can show empathy.
• Active listening skills with the ability to motivate others.

About the role:

We are currently seeking qualified, women solicitor, barrister and qualified legal executive volunteers to provide legal advice on our Family Law advice line. All volunteering is done remotely and you must be qualified to practice in England and Wales.

What will you be doing?

We offer a safe space for women to talk about their situation and receive expert legal advice to enable them to make important decisions about their future.

For 50 years our free telephone advice lines have provided vital legal advice for women experiencing  domestic abuse on issues such as protective orders,  child arrangements, finances and divorce or separation.

We ask all our volunteers to:

• Provide advice on our advice lines for one 2-hour session a month (minimum);
• Attend the induction training session provided by Rights of Women;
• Give clear and accurate legal advice to callers;
• Be non-judgemental and non-discriminatory in their approach;
• Follow our procedures for making records of calls and obtaining monitoring information;
• Keep up to date with the law for the relevant advice lines;
• Attend all agreed advice line sessions (remotely);
• Inform us as soon as possible if they are unable to attend an agreed session;
• Abide by Rights of Women’s procedures, standards and policies, including equal opportunities and confidentiality in relation to staff, volunteers and users.

The Volunteer Instructional Designer supports our mission by designing engaging, effective and learner-centred educational materials. In this role, you will collaborate with subject matter experts, program staff and other volunteers to transform ideas and content into structured learning experiences that are accessible, inclusive and impactful.

As Instructional Designer, you will work closely with the Membership Director, Book Club Coordinator, and Social & Digital Media Education Lead to develop structured learning pathways, modules, and resources for our membership programmes. • Assist in managing campaign timelines, launch checklists and key milestones to ensure activities are delivered on schedule.
• Work with marketing, communications and technical teams to align messaging, creative assets, targeting and launch requirements.
• Help monitor paid campaign performance, budgets and spend, flagging issues or opportunities for optimisation.
• Collaborate closely with Social media Director, Social Media Analysts and Insights Officer.
• Support basic analysis and reporting on campaign results, using platform insights and analytics tools.
• Report campaign performance to the leadership team.
• Maintain documentation of campaign strategies, budgets and outcomes.
• Assist with audience targeting, creative testing and campaign adjustments based on performance data.
• Ensure campaigns and launch activities follow organisational guidelines, brand standards and data protection requirements.
• Support post-launch reviews to capture feedback and contribute to continuous improvement of future campaigns.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders, providing updates and supporting coordination across teams.

We need more fosterers like you to provide a safe, temporary haven for cats and kittens and provide them with everything they need before they get their chance to land on their four paws and make a house a home.
