Who are we?

We are Buttons & Bubbles CIC. Our aim is to increase and representation across society for disabled families. We have several different services including inclusive characters, sensory workshops, resources, events, advocacy and more.

What are we looking for?

Are you creative? Or looking for a practical volunteering project with artistic flair? Then we might just have something for you!
This year we turned our inclusive characters into props and began creating our ‘safe bubble’ at festivals. We want to continue this work and made some improvements! Jazz up the props and make our safe space look amazing. In a nutshell we want to make our props more interactive and create props, decorations and lighting for our safe space.But we are super open to hearing ideas as to what we could do with this!

What do we expect?

• Be willing to undertake our training programme which will be done virtually and at a time to suit you.

• Have an Enhanced DBS check (preferably be on the update system)

We are looking for a trustee with a Paediatric Therapy specialism to join the established Board of Trustees. This is an opportunity to join the charity at an exciting time of great development.

We're inviting applications from:

• A Paediatric Therapist - Physiotherapist /Occupational Therapist
• Minimum 2 years Paediatric experience
• HCPC registered
• Currently practicing (NHS/Private/Charity)

In addition, it would be useful but not essential if the applicant also has:

• Experience in community setting
• Knowledge of the charity sector
• Previous Trustee or equivalent experience
• Management experience - under financial reporting, HR and quality measures.

WEST Youth Zone opened its doors in April 2024, but the journey to get here was much longer – built on years of planning, community effort and shared belief in what high-quality youth work can offer.

Named by local young people (Where Everyone Sticks Together), WEST is a purpose-built, seven-day-a-week space staffed by skilled and dedicated youth workers. Here, over 3,000 young people have already found somewhere to belong, build skills and be themselves. For over 180 years, Reedham Children’s Trust has provided support to the most vulnerable children and young people in Croydon. We believe every child deserves a healthy, happy, and fulfilling life, and we know that when the right support is offered, family problems and disadvantage need not continue through generations.

Reedham Children’s Trust funds local projects and innovative programmes to tackle the barriers and challenges that too many children and young people in Croydon face daily - which is why we are exploring a merger with Croydon Voluntary Action to create a dynamic new entity that will ensure Reedham’s legacy can continue through new strands and activity.

Our Trustees already play an important role in helping our charity fulfil its ambitions and aspirations by supporting the strategy, providing robust governance and being ambassadors for our work. But as we enter the delivery phase of redefining the charity’s future, we are particularly keen to strengthen our board with fresh Trustees who are aspirational and strategic leaders, from a range of professional and personal backgrounds.

What are we looking for in a new Trustee?

1) We want our Trustees to reflect and understand the communities we serve. Lived experience of the challenges our beneficiaries face is welcomed, as are Trustees who live/work in and around Croydon.

2) We value enthusiasm and commitment as much as experience and professional knowledge. This includes - but is not limited to - individuals early in their careers. If you are a confident communicator with a strong understanding of the importance of strategy, and are ready to commit your time and energy, we will give you the tools to be an excellent Trustee.

3) We are interested in candidates  who are open to learning as well as to contributing from their place of expertise. In particular, candidates with experience of change management, fundraising, marketing/branding and the delivery of projects and services in a local community like Croydon would help during this exciting chapter.

• Engage with information by remote and through digital channels.
• Act as a critical friend in meetings and whenever a new project or activity begins.
• Be an advocate for the charity in your daily life.

This is a non-remunerated position and all Trustees are asked to give approximately 12 days per annum for meetings, preparation and events.

Are you a social media whiz?

Do you have 3-5 hours a week to give to a charity supporting SEND families?

As a social media volunteer you will be managing and creating content for the charity's social media platforms, monitoring performance and establishing and maintaining active social media accounts.

What will you be doing?

• Creating and managing daily posts across all social media platforms e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn.
• Advertising our services, webinars and other events in order to reach more families in need of the support we offer.
• Working in conjunction with the Operations Manager, develop new, engaging content to increase interest, improve our presence, attract followers and drive growth.
• Create posts for the organisations needs as and when needed.

What are we looking for?

• Clear understanding of social media platforms.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly motivated, enthusiastic and a positive can-do attitude.
• Knowledge of marketing and public relations is desirable.
• Creativity and experience with Canva for content design is also desirable.

The Climate Coalition is recruiting for two new trustees to join us. We are in a strong position as an organisation both internally and in terms of the critical role we are playing in our sector but there is always more to do and we are looking for people who can support and challenge us as we think about our next five years of progress. We have an experienced Board already and are open to recruiting people who have never served on trustee boards before (as well as those that have). 

We are looking for people who have patience as well as drive and are drawn to the opportunities that come with coalition working. You will get to sit alongside some incredible people within the team and Board and bring your insight, thoughtfulness, support and challenge to help us do the best job we possibly can. 

We acknowledge that people from certain backgrounds are under-represented in the climate sector and we’re committed to doing what we can to correct this. We are particularly keen to receive applications from candidates who identify as Black, Asian or minority ethnic. We do not require applicants to have previous trustee experience; instead we are looking for people who will devote the time and energy required to help us achieve our ambitious aims at a critical time for the climate sector.

WHO WE ARE

The Climate Coalition came together over 20 years ago and has grown to become the UK’s biggest group of people dedicated to action on climate change, with a combined supporter base of more than 22 million people. We encompass over 130 organisations spanning nature, environment, international development, faith, health, community and women’s groups – from the National Trust, WWF, the Women’s Institute, to Islamic Relief as well as local climate groups. 

People are powerful when they come together: The Climate Coalition platforms and mobilises collective action for climate and nature; develops shared insights and narratives; and provides shared infrastructure to bring organisations together, to channel their collective action and create the space for sustained political change. 

This is an exciting time for the Coalition as we adapt to meet the changing needs of the climate sector. Over the past few months we have refreshed our ideas about how we make a difference in the world (see our website for more details), and are reviewing our governance and how we make decisions. 

WHAT WE NEED 

We are looking to add a number of new trustees from either within or beyond our membership organisations. We are seeking trustees who will be bold and brave; who can contribute strategically across a wide variety of issues and who will support and challenge the Board and Executive Director in its drive for change. 

We are able to provide access to support and training for first time trustees or those who feel they want to build their confidence/understanding in the role of the trustee. 

Whether you work in the climate sector or in a different sector entirely, this is a chance to play a meaningful role in the UK movement. It is not just another governance role; it’s your chance to volunteer for an organisation with an outsized role in, and responsibility for, the climate movement as a whole. 

We are particularly interested in hearing from people with experience of community organising. 

WHAT WE WOULD ASK OF YOU 

As a trustee we would expect you to get to know us as an organisation and build a strong understanding of the aims of The Climate Coalition and work collectively with the Chair, the other Board trustees and the Executive Director to help ensure that the Coalition does all it can to fulfil its potential. 

Specifically, as a trustee you will be responsible for ensuring it: 

• fulfils its strategic objectives as set out in our agreed strategic framework;

• is well governed and abides by relevant laws and regulations (training is provided and you do not need to be a legal expert to do this role);

• thinks carefully about how it recruits and how it spends money so that it has the necessary resources, both material and human, to operate effectively and deliver against our mission;

• prioritises EDI in decision making. 

Your commitment will be to: 

• attend our AGM as well as 6 x 2-3 hour trustee meetings per year, of which at least ⅔ will be via zoom, and to pre-read all relevant papers; 

• support our anti-oppression agenda and take part in or contribute to our trainings; as well as our main Board, over time all trustees will also have the chance to sit on and/or lead working groups particularly where you have specialised experience/skills, and attend other meetings where necessary; 

• to review our executive reports that detail how we are doing as and be aware of, and abide by the responsibilities of a charity trustee as set out by the Charity Commission. 

Salary: The role is unremunerated though reasonable travel expenses will be paid. 

Time commitment: Approximately 1-1.5 days/month 

Location: Remote (anywhere within the UK). Occasional travel to London.

About the Project – “Solta o Jogo”
“Solta o Jogo” is a vibrant cultural competition and festival celebrating Brazilian heritage through Capoeira, music, dance, acrobatics, and a Brazilian arts & crafts fair. Hosted at Kingston University Townhouse, the event invites the community to participate in free performances, workshops, and exhibitions promoting cross-cultural understanding.

As part of this initiative, we are seeking a Personal Assistant to support daily coordination, scheduling, and communication tasks across departments. This remote volunteer opportunity is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and looking to gain experience in nonprofit administration while contributing to a meaningful community-driven programme. 

Position Overview:
The Personal Assistant will be responsible for organising meetings, managing calendars, supporting internal communications, and assisting in day-to-day administrative operations. This role plays a vital part in ensuring smooth coordination between teams, and offers autonomy, flexibility, and mentorship opportunities for someone looking to develop or apply their administrative and organisational skills in the Third Sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Support & Coordination:

• Manage meeting schedules, appointments, and internal calendars.

• Organise virtual events, staff briefings, and team check-ins.

• Support in planning and executing internal conferences or training sessions.

Data & System Management:

• Maintain and update internal databases and contact lists.

• Implement and uphold procedures and administrative systems.

Staff Liaison & Communication:

• Act as a point of contact between managers and teams.

• Assist in internal communications and task follow-ups.

General Administrative Tasks:

• Contribute to internal meetings with updates and suggestions.

• Provide ad hoc administrative support to leadership and teams as needed.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

• No specific degree required, but relevant administrative or office support experience is preferred.

Experience:

• Prior experience as an administrative or personal assistant is an advantage.

• Familiarity with coordinating meetings, managing data, or supporting organisational logistics.

Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication.

• Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.

• Proactive, professional, and able to work independently or collaboratively.
