About the Role
As an Advisory Board Member, you will support our mission by offering expert advice and thought leadership. This role is purely advisory — focused on influence, not governance or operations. There are three Advisory Boards, and the particular skills and experience we’re looking for each are listed below.
- Member Group Quality and Standards Advisory Board
- Participants – Championing the voice of our participants, ensuring the participant perspective is woven into our offering.
- Volunteers – Leading the way in volunteering, ensuring RDAs vision to be a leader in volunteering experience across the UK.
- Education – Bringing an education background to increase the RDA educational experience in its offering.
- Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) – A leader in EDI they will ensure RDA continues momentum in embedding EDI across the organisation, ensuring it is a welcoming place for all.
- Environmental sustainability – A leader in environmental sustainability field will work to bring an increased sustainability view to RDAs member group operations.
- Mental Health – A professional in mental health support, bringing to life mental health considerations in our work.
- Advanced Coaching – A RDA coaching professional with advanced coaching qualifications to support the ongoing development of coaching standards at RDA. Preference for PRACA attendance.
- Equine Welfare – An individual with clear experience in the field that will ensure equine welfare continues to be central to how we deliver our services.
- Physiotherapy – A human focused physio to help us embed the therapy benefits of our services across the organisation.

- Carriage Driving – A carriage driving professional with experience in RDA delivery.
- Tea with a Pony/Dementia care services – A representative with experience in delivering the ‘tea with a pony’ initiative within RDA or has experience within the Dementia care field.
- Equine Assisted Services – A leader in equine assisted services, supporting RDAs continued development in service offering.
- Equine Welfare – An individual with clear experience in the field that will ensure equine welfare continues to be central to how we deliver our services.
- Physiotherapy – A human focused physio to help us embed the therapy benefits across all out delivered activities.
- Advanced Coaching – A RDA coaching professional with advanced coaching qualifications to support the ongoing development of coaching across the different activities that RDA offer. Preference for PRACA attendance.
- Equine Welfare Advisory Board
- Vet – A qualified veterinary surgeon, leading in equine practice that will support the ongoing development of equine welfare policies and practices, supporting equine welfare to be the central part of RDAs way of delivering services.
- Farrier – A qualified farrier, who is a leader in their field, using their knowledge and experience, supporting equine welfare to be the central part of RDAs way of delivering services.
- Equine Physiotherapist – A qualified equine physio, who is a leader in their field, using their knowledge and experience, supporting equine welfare to be the central part of RDAs way of delivering services.
- Equine Research – A leader in equine research ensuring RDA remains at the forefront of the latest best practise and welfare standards.
- Equine Welfare – An individual with clear experience in the field that will ensure equine welfare continues to be central to how we deliver our services.
- Physiotherapy – A human focused physio to help us ensure equine welfare remains central to RDA as part of delivering therapy through horses.
- Advanced Coach – A RDA coaching professional with advanced coaching qualifications to support the ongoing development of coaching knowledge of equine welfare. Preference for PRACA attendance.
Note: Some roles have the option to sit across multiple Boards.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer strategic insight and professional expertise to inform key decisions.
- Contribute actively to Advisory Board meetings (minimum twice per year).
- Provide guidance on best practice, innovation, and emerging opportunities.
- Support projects and collaborate between meetings as needed.
- Assist in the development of reports and recommendations for RDA UK Trustees.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience and leadership in a relevant industry.
- Specialist knowledge aligned with one of the Advisory Boards.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Prior board or advisory experience (desirable, not essential).
- A genuine commitment to RDA’s mission and values.
Note: Advisory Board Members cannot be current RDA UK Trustees or staff.
Commitment
- Serve a 3-year term, renewable up to three times (maximum 9 years).
- Attend two Advisory Board meetings annually, with additional engagement as required.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold RDA’s values at all times.

Position Summary: We are seeking a passionate and skilled Volunteer Communication Officer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to use storytelling, media engagement, and strategic communication to drive social and environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement communication strategies to raise awareness of RUWAI’s work. Create compelling content (articles, social media posts, newsletters, press releases, donor reports). Manage and grow RUWAI’s social media platforms and online presence. Support the design and dissemination of impact stories, campaign materials, and advocacy content. Liaise with media, partners, and stakeholders to promote RUWAI’s initiatives. Role Description
- Support the development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies.
- Creating awareness of products and services offered by the company.

Event Coordinator
Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)
The Events Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing impactful virtual and in-person events that amplify Growth Pillar’s mission, engage stakeholders, and enhance visibility. Events may include capacity-building workshops, community outreach programs, panel discussions, stakeholder forums, fundraising campaigns, and program launches. This role is ideal for someone who is creative, detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about development and social innovation in Africa.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Event Planning & Design
- Develop detailed event concepts and calendars aligned with Growth Pillar’s strategic goals
- Coordinate logistics for online and physical events (venue, vendors, equipment, permissions)
- Prepare event plans, workbacks, and budgets in collaboration with team leads
- Secure speakers, facilitators, guests, and panelists as needed
Event Promotion & Registration
- Work with the communications team to develop event promotion materials
- Design and manage event registration and RSVPs (using tools like Google Forms, Eventbrite, etc.)
- Manage event pages, reminders, and social media outreach
On-the-Day Coordination
- Oversee smooth execution of events, managing flow and timing
- Support hosting, moderation, or coordination with emcees (MCs), facilitators, and tech support
- Ensure branding, documentation, and protocols are followed
- Troubleshoot issues in real-time and ensure excellent participant experience
Post-Event Activities
- Collect and analyze participant feedback and prepare post-event reports
- Coordinate with content team to publish event highlights, photos, and summaries
- Maintain a repository of recordings, photos, attendance records, and media files
Partnership & Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with local organizations, sponsors, and partners to co-host or support events
- Assist in mobilizing resources (in-kind support, venue sponsorships, etc.)
- Represent Growth Pillar in relevant external event planning committees when needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Communications, Marketing, Development Studies, or a related field
- At least 1–2 years of experience in planning and executing professional or community-based events
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Comfortable using tools like Zoom, Canva, Eventbrite, Trello, Google Workspace
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently and collaboratively
- Ability to moderate or facilitate events confidently
- Knowledge of social media and digital marketing tools

☎️ A phone-based service that connects volunteers with individuals who may feel isolated or lonely. Through regular calls, you’ll help build friendships, brighten someone’s day, and offer emotional support — especially for those more comfortable speaking Pashto.

We are looking for a Finance Trustee to support the Board by providing an oversight of our affairs, ensuring our financial viability and that proper financial records and procedures are maintained.
We are a small CIO with 3 part time staff. Our Finance Trustee will participate in all areas of our governance but take a special interest in the financial strategy and governance. They will use their sound financial skills & experience to support the Board’s understanding & interpretation & to ensure legislative compliance.
Our payroll is outsourced and we have an external investment portfolio manager.
Our current finance trustee has served their term of office & it is now time to look for their successor.
All meetings except our AGM/annual award event are remote. We need you to be available to attend:
2 (evening) Board meetings
1 summer (evening) business meeting
3 Finance subcommittee (evening) meetings
1 in person day Board/AGM/Award event
Fundraising sub committee meetings - frequency tbc these will be held remotely in the evenings
The Finance Trustee will adhere to the role description of a trustee & in addition has the following key responsibilities:
- To support the Board to oversee & to ensure appropriate presentation of budgets, accounts, management accounts and financial statements.
- To ensure appropriate presentation of accounts and records, ensuring that financial resources are spent in accordance with the charity’s policies, good governance, legal & regulatory requirements.
- Liaising, where applicable, with the Chair/ other appropriate members of staff & supporting on financial matters
- Supporting the Board to monitor the financial viability of the charity.
- Creating in conjunction with relevant trustees & staff sound financial processes & procedures for the control of the charity’s assets.
- Advising on the financial implications of the charity’s strategic plan.
- Reviewing the annual accounts &, where applicable, liaising with the charity’s external bookkeeper to ensure the accounts are compliant with the current charities’ SORP.
- Ensuring that sound financial management is maintained & ensuring expenditure is in line with the charity’s objects.
- Authorisation of charity expenditure & banking transactions set up on online bank accounts
- Liaison with the fund manager responsible for the charity’s investment portfolio
- Oversight of payroll, HMRC reporting & operation of auto-enrolment pension scheme for staff

About the Role:
As a Volunteer Youth Hub Worker, you’ll help create a positive environment where young people feel heard, supported, and empowered. You’ll be part of a team running games, activities, discussions, and workshops that promote confidence, inclusion, and wellbeing.
Location: Lancing Youth Hub, West Sussex
Hours: 1–2 evenings per week (typically 2–3 hours per session)
Commitment: Ideally 3–6 months minimum, with flexibility
What You’ll Do:
