We are currently looking for a personal assistant to the charity's chair person.

Responsibilities typically include: 

· Acting as a first point of contact for enquiries: (email/calendar management and managing diaries 

· Typing, compiling, and preparing reports, presentations, and correspondence. 

· Miscellaneous tasks to support the Chair

· Forming a relationship with our clients as they are part of the community. 

Essential skills for this role are: 

· Organisation skills: The ability to prioritise tasks, manage time, and keep track of deadlines is crucial.  

· Communication skills: should be able to communicate effectively in writing. 

· Attention to detail: the ability to pick up on small details can prevent costly mistakes from occurring. 

· Problem-solving skills: the ability to identify and resolve problems quickly and efficiently.

Winchester & District Young Carers believes that young carers are children first and should be free to develop emotionally and take full advantage of opportunities for educational achievement and life success. 

Our Charity was one of the first in the country to be set up specifically to support the needs of young carers. The Charity has been successfully running for 25 years and has an established Trustee board and strong staff team in place. As the Charity's Treasurer, you will help the organisation to maintain an overview of its' affairs, ensure its financial viability, and ensure that proper financial records and procedures are maintained. You will oversee and present budgets to the Board, make financial statements available, and ensure that the charity has appropriate management accounts and financial reports. As a good communicator, you will also help other Board members to understand the statements, so that trustees can make decisions that ensure the financial resources of the organisation meet its present and future needs. 

We are seeking a Director and Chair of Trustees Designate to help shape the future direction of our organisation. We are looking for an individual with proven senior leadership experience - ideally, though not necessarily, within the third sector - who can bring strong strategic thinking, sound judgement, and a collaborative leadership style.

Freeways and Freeways Trust, as part of their business plan for expansion, have an exciting opportunity for new Trustees to join our Board/s based at Abbots Leigh, Bristol.  This is a voluntary role and will require commitment for approximately 8 hours each month.

Freeways is a local charity that supports adults with learning disabilities. We are a highly regarded provider of supported living services and residential care. Freeways Trust own, manage and maintain the majority of properties that Freeways use.

The role of Trustee:

As a Trustee, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of Freeways and/or Freeways Trust. You will play a vital role in ensuring our charities continue to evolve. You will be part of a team that is not just providing care but actively campaigning for the rights and inclusion of people with learning disabilities, helping them to live fulfilling and happy lives. Your skills and passion would directly contribute to a cause that is both essential and deeply rewarding.

As part of the Board of Trustees you will provide sound governance, strategic oversight, guidance and support to further the charitable aims and objectives.  See role description for further details. 

We are looking for a range of skills and experience particularly in the following areas (but not limited to):

- Finance (at a senior management/director level)

- Property development and/or construction

- Care or health sector experience (including psychology/psychiatry)

We would also welcome applicants with skills and experience in:

- IT/systems
- Marketing/PR/communications

- Commissioning experience

- Local government experience (including social work)

- Charity sector experience

- Business development

Volunteering for Sense

Sense is a leading disability charity with extensive knowledge and expertise in delivering personalised, creative and flexible support for disabled people with complex needs. Our tailored approach ensures that every person is empowered to live fully at every stage of life.

Due to the nature of the role, we require all applicants to be aged 16 or over. You must have a UK address to volunteer with Sense.

What your role will involve

You’ll get the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of activities, including:

• Welcoming and assisting customers, providing great customer service, helping create a wonderful shopping experience.
• Receiving donated items from the public, thanking them for their support.
• Sorting, steaming and preparing donations for sale.
• Helping to display stock in eye-catching and exciting ways.
• Keeping the shop floor clean, safe and tidy.
• Talking to customers about Sense and the work we do. 

When you’re ready, we’ll provide you with additional training to:

• Serve customers on the till in a warm and friendly way.
• Put sales through the till, packing them and thanking the customer for shopping with us.
• Talk to customers about Gift Aid and other fundraising initiatives.

If you’re interested in taking on additional responsibilities, you can train to become a Key Volunteer, helping the shop manager by:

• Helping supervise the shop and other volunteers.
• Supporting the shop manager to make sure customers have a great experience.
• Opening and closing the shop when needed.
• Cashing up at the end of the day.
