We are currently offering an exciting honorary placement opportunity for a trainee or newly qualified counsellors/psychotherapists working towards BACP registration or accreditation.
About the Role:
Survivor Service
Honorary therapists work within the Psychotherapy Service team to provide emotional and therapeutic support to young people and children with learning disabilities and autistic people who have experienced abuse or trauma. The post will entail jointly assessing and providing individual therapy and having weekly supervision with our therapists.
Requirements:
· Availability for in-person clinical work on Tuesdays
· Capacity to hold a caseload of up to 3 clients
· Attendance at online clinical supervision on Mondays, either 9.00-11.00am or 11.30am-1.30pm
· Attendance at in-person team meetings on the third Monday of each month (helpful but not mandatory)
· Currently enrolled in (or recently completed) a Level 4 or above counselling/psychotherapy course
· Student member of the BACP, UKCP, HCPC (or equivalent professional body) and adhere to ethical framework of awarding professional body
· Minimum of 50 supervised client hours completed
· Minimum commitment of 1 year

Pedal Away is a community-based cycling scheme that enables people to ride, regardless of their age, ability or cycling experience. We have Pedal Away Cycle Hubs at a limited number of locations which will allow you to realise your passion for all things two-wheels. Our Pedal Away rides are pitched at a level so that anyone can join in no matter how long it's been since you were last on a two-wheeled bike. They are social rides aimed to turn people from beginner to independent and confident cyclist, away from traffic and are led by experienced ride leaders.

RSBC are looking for digital volunteers to help out at our Boys Crew online club. At Boys Crew, the children and young people meet twice a month and engage in different activities via Zoom!
We are looking for volunteers to help facilitate the clubs admin, make sure everyone feels involved and potentially lead an activity!
Role: Online Activities Volunteer (Boys Crew)
Commitment: Boys Crew is currently run twice a month, usually on a Tuesday from 17:00 - 18:00. There are also other clubs you would be able to get involved in such as our Audiobook club.

What will I be doing?
Our amazing Activity Volunteers play a key role in supporting blind children and young people to take part in a variety of activities. These range from sports, creative (singing, performing, art), audiobook club and day trips. Our activities are designed for blind young people to meet new friends, gain confidence, learn new skills/sports, and become more independent. The skills you have developed in your career and personal life will be invaluable to our young people.

Who are you?
We welcome applications from people with a wide range of skills and experiences. You don’t need to have volunteered or worked before as full training will be provided. What’s important to us is that you are a team player, open to learning and willing to follow RSBC’s policies and can be an excellent ambassador for RSBC. We particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience of sight problems.
What’s in it for me?
RSBC offers the opportunity to gain insight and experience into helping others with sight issues. As part of your volunteering, you will have access to Sighted Guide training, a training session designed to help you understand the issues and complexities of sight problems and give you the ability to help others navigate the world.
RSBC also provides paid expenses for your volunteering experience, you can claim up to £10 per day.
RSBC can also provide references and impact reports from your volunteering if required.
You will be fully supported in your role by our team of expert and compassionate service delivery team.
Develop or utilise your skills – As a volunteer, you’ll be given plenty of opportunities to develop new skills or use those you already have, which can help to build your CV, boost your employability and give you a sense of satisfaction.

Safeguarding:
Due to the nature of the role, before you can begin volunteering with RSBC there are some required safeguarding checks which will need to be completed.
All RSBC volunteers undergo an Enhanced DBS check (paid for by RSBC) and must provide two references.
All volunteers will also be booked onto safeguarding training.
RSBC risk assesses all its services and activities.

MS Together is a charity focused on supporting young adults (18–35) living with multiple sclerosis. - Lived experience of MS or a strong understanding of long-term health conditions and the challenges faced by young people
However, you don’t need to have previous board experience – we welcome first-time trustees and offer support and training to help you thrive in the role
Your key responsibilities as a trustee:
- Attend and contribute to quarterly board meetings (held remotely)
- Provide strategic guidance and oversight of our activities and finances
- Support the CEO and staff team where relevant, using your skills and experience
- Act as an ambassador for MS Together and promote our work
- Ensure the charity complies with its governing document, charity law, and best practice
- Help safeguard the long-term sustainability and integrity of the charity
