About Where Next
Where Next is a charity based in Redditch, Worcestershire and Studley, Warwickshire providing support to adults with learning disabilities. Founded over 40 years ago by caring parents it has grown from strengthen to strengthen and now provides day care for 150 clients. The care and support is centred around horticultural and social activities but it also covers many other activities for the clients ensuring that is a varied and engaging programme of activities, nurturing the potential of everyone who attends Where Next
The charity is led by a Chief Executive and a passionate and experienced Board consisting of an excellent Senior Management team and Trustees. There are 20 staff in total
The charity has just commenced a developmental journey which will be looking at redesigning the facilities and services ensuring that the charity continues to be relevant going forward.

What we are looking for.
The Board are looking to strengthen existing skills and knowledge that currently exists and would like to appointment Trustees with any of the following skills and experiences.
Ø Parent/ carer of an individual with Learning and Disabilities - living or professional experience – bringing day to day experiences to ensure that the Charities strategy is appropriate from a user’s perspective
Ø Health and safety contract management – providing expertise in all aspects of safety aspect
Ø Fund raising and PR/marketing including social media - Bringing innovative ideas to expand our reach and connect more people with our cause.
Ø Project management – sharing skills to aid strategy of charities developments
Ø Business planning and/or Business Case development -providing skills for the creation of business cases
Ø Horticultural management – Bringing leadership to support the activities of the charity
Ø Education /Training/ skills and personal development - offering insights to help improve and develop our Board and workforce

What’s Involved?
- Board Meetings: Attend approximately 4 meetings per year (held in person and/or virtually).
- Strategic Guidance: Work with fellow trustees to set the long-term vision and strategy of "Where Next" and oversee its implementation.
- Support & Advice: Provide expertise in your specific area while supporting the leadership team on key decisions and projects.
- Advocacy: Use your professional network to champion our cause and help us grow.

Job description
Use your interest in tech to support independence. Sight Support Worthing (SSW) is looking for Tech Support Volunteers to help blind and partially sighted people get the most from their devices. Whether it’s setting up accessibility features, troubleshooting an app, or installing a smart speaker, your support can make everyday tasks easier and more empowering.
This is a great opportunity to build experience in assistive technology or charity work while making a meaningful difference in the community.
Role: Tech Support Volunteer
Reporting to: Tech Advisors
Hours/Days: To be agreed
Location: Sight Support Worthing, Rowlands Road, and home visits (company vehicle available if required).
Role Description
Tech Support Volunteers provide one-to-one support to clients with their phones, tablets, computers, and other devices. Support may take place during tech drop-in sessions at our centre or via pre-arranged home visits for those unable to travel or using non-portable devices. The hours and time commitments are flexible depending on your availability, but we require volunteers to commit to a minimum of 3 sessions of 1 hour per month.
Full training and equipment are provided, and reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.
What You Will Be Doing
- Giving basic advice and support at tech support drop-in sessions
- Visiting clients at their homes
- Advising on assistive devices, apps, and accessibility features
- Troubleshooting basic issues with devices or connectivity
- Setting up smart speakers and other simple devices
Skills & Qualities
We’re looking for volunteers who are:
- Friendly, patient, and enthusiastic
- Flexible and willing to adapt to individual needs
- Confident communicating in ways tailored to each client
Technical Skills
- Good general knowledge of phones, tablets, or computers
- Willingness to learn new apps and devices
- Interest in accessibility and inclusive technology
Desirable (not essential):
- Experience working with people with a visual impairment or sensory impairment
- Personal or professional experience with assistive technology

Stepping Stones Learning and Leisure is a small, friendly charity based in Southwark, providing inclusive activities for adults with learning disabilities. We believe everyone should have the chance to express themselves, connect with others, and take part in activities that bring joy, confidence, and new skills.
We’re currently looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Gardening Club Volunteer to support our bi weekly Monday sessions (11am-1pm), held at our allotment site in Peckham, throughout the spring and summer months.
About The Role
This role is ideal for someone who loves to get stuck in. You’ll support our gardening tutor in delivering accessible and fun gardening sessions for a small group of adults with learning disabilities. Every class will be an opportunity to learn new gardening skills, from pulling weeds to sowing seeds. With your help, we aim to provide our learners with a sense of pride and satisfaction at having nurtured a growthful space with others, whilst learning invaluable skills along the way.
As a Gardening Club Volunteer at Stepping Stones, you will:
- Encourage and support learners
- Assist the tutor in setting up and putting away gardening tools
- Demonstrate tasks and participate alongside learners
- Undertake light manual tasks where necessary and follow health and safety guidelines
- Offer 1:1 or group support where needed to help participants engage
- Help cultivate a warm, inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels safe to express themselves

As a Cook and Eat Volunteer at Stepping Stones, you will:
- Assist the tutor in running weekly cooking classes

- Help with setting up and closing down the kitchen workspace
- Maintain high standards of hygiene
- Offer 1:1 or group support where needed to help participants engage
- Help build a warm, inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels safe to express themselves
