Job description

Urban Youth – Volunteer Graphic Designer Wanted

Help Shape a Brand That Inspires Young Londoners

Urban Youth is on a mission to empower young people aged 10–25 through creativity, participation and community. Now we’re looking for a talented volunteer Graphic Designer to help us build a bold, modern brand identity that speaks directly to young people — wherever they are.

If you’re passionate about design, youth culture and social impact, this is your moment to make a real difference.

The Role: Create the Visual Identity of a Youth Community

We’re seeking a creative individual who can design:

  • A logo that is modern, memorable and youth‑centred.

  • A brand identity that stands out across London.

  • Visuals that look strong in colour, white or transparent formats.

  • Assets that work across digital, print, social media and youth‑friendly spaces.

Your work will help us:

  • Attract young people aged 10–25.

  • Build trust and recognition across communities.

  • Communicate our values of empowerment, inclusion and creativity.

  • Strengthen our universal, targeted, detached, outreach and digital youth work offer.

What Urban Youth Does (So You Can Design With Purpose)

Urban Youth delivers a full range of youth work approaches, aligned with National Youth Agency standards:

  • Universal / Open Access Youth Work

Youth clubs, creative spaces, youth councils — open to all.

  • Targeted Youth Support (TYS)

Supporting vulnerable young people aged 10–21 (up to 25) to overcome barriers and improve wellbeing.

  • Detached Youth Work

Meeting young people where they are — parks, estates, streets, cafés.

  • Outreach Youth Work

Connecting young people back into our programmes and opportunities.

  • Specialist / Targeted Provision

Focused support around mental health, identity, sexual health, substance misuse and more.

  • Digital Youth Work

Engaging young people through online platforms, social media and digital creativity.

Your brand identity will need to feel fresh, inclusive and relevant across all these settings.

Who We’re Looking For

You’ll be a great fit if you:

  • Have experience in graphic design, branding or visual communication.

  • Understand youth culture, trends and what appeals to 10–25‑year‑olds.

  • Can translate values like empowerment, belonging and creativity into visual form.

  • Are confident designing logos, colour palettes, typography and brand assets.

  • Can create visuals that work across digital, print and social platforms.

  • Are collaborative, open to feedback and excited to co‑create with young people.

  • Want to use your skills to support a meaningful community mission.

Experience with youth organisations is a bonus, but not essential.

What’s In It For You

  • A chance to shape the identity of a new youth community.

  • Real‑world portfolio pieces with community impact.

  • Collaboration with a passionate, supportive team.

  • Opportunities to engage with young people and understand their creative voice.

  • Flexible volunteering that fits around your schedule.

Our Commitment to Inclusion

Urban Youth is proudly inclusive. We welcome volunteers of all abilities and backgrounds. If you need adjustments at any stage, we will support you.

If you’re excited to help shape a visual identity that empowers young people and stands out across London, we’d love to hear from you.
