We’re looking for a Legacy Marketing Volunteer to work alongside our friendly Legacies Team, helping us innovate and energise how we promote this vital source of income.

What you’ll be doing:

• Bringing new ideas to our annual legacy marketing plans
• Researching current marketing trends and sharing insight
• Supporting awareness campaigns that inspire supporters
• Assisting with data and reporting
• Helping to steward pledges and gather meaningful legacy stories
• Working collaboratively to enhance and grow our impact

This role will take place at Dorothy House Hospice in Winsley, fortnightly on a Wednesday morning.

This role is perfect for someone who:

• Has marketing experience (professional or voluntary)
• Is creative, curious and full of ideas
• Is computer literate and confident working with data

 Every penny counts when it comes to improving the lives of the thousands of cats and kittens across the UK that need our help each year. Our collection box fundraising volunteers help our volunteer groups raise vital funds by collecting and distributing collection boxes in their local area. Making a difference can mean as little as raising 20p, which is enough to feed one cat in our care for a day, to £150 which is the average cost of a cat in our care.

You can expect us to

 What we need from you

You’ll be:

· overseeing the collection and delivery of collection boxes in different locations

· recording donations and thanking local businesses and supporters

· researching local areas for collection box ‘hot spots’

· sharing fundraising ideas with other volunteers and putting these into practice 

· sharing your passion for cat welfare and promoting the work of Cats Protection

Time expectation

Our collection box fundraising volunteers usually spend 1 to 2 hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

Air Ambulances UK (AAUK) is the national charity supporting the lifesaving work of the UK’s 21 air ambulance charities, helping them to save even more lives every day. Air ambulance charities deliver advanced pre-hospital critical care to patients who have suffered life-threatening or life-changing injuries or medical emergencies, bringing the Emergency Department directly to the scene. 

We are looking for enthusiastic and friendly Fundraising Volunteers to support a series of exciting upcoming events in partnership with national organisations, including a major fundraising week this summer. 

About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a public-facing fundraising initiative, helping to raise awareness and vital funds for air ambulance charities across the UK. 

You’ll engage with members of the public in busy locations, helping to highlight the importance of supporting air ambulance charities, which rely almost entirely on donations to continue their vital work. 

What will you be doing? 

As a Fundraising Volunteer, you may be involved in: 

• Speaking to members of the public about the work of air ambulance charities 

• Encouraging donations (including cashless options) 

• Handing out leaflets and raising awareness 

• Supporting fun, simple engagement activities (e.g. games, quizzes, giveaways) 

• Helping deliver family-friendly activities 

• Creating a welcoming, positive presence at events 

• Representing AAUK and the wider air ambulance sector 

• Most importantly – having fun while supporting a lifesaving cause

What are we looking for? 

We are looking for people who are: 

• Friendly, approachable and confident speaking to the public 

• Passionate about supporting charitable causes 

• Reliable and able to work as part of a team 

• Proactive and enthusiastic 

• Happy to get involved in a variety of activities 

No previous volunteering or fundraising experience is required – just a positive attitude!

Time commitment  

Our initial campaign will run from 1st – 8th August, with volunteer shifts available across multiple locations.

• Flexible shifts (morning, afternoon or full day) 

• You can sign up for as much or as little time as you’re able to give

Air ambulance charities across the UK respond to more than 45,000 missions every year, delivering advanced critical care at the scene to patients in urgent need.

You’ll help us look after the supporters who are fundraising for us — to make sure they’re happy and feel part of what we do. You’ll also support us with planning and running events, including preparation and making sure everything runs smoothly on the day.

In this role you’ll develop your organisation, communication and team working skills.

What we need from you

This is a highly flexible role, and you can choose how you’d like to get involved. Opportunities include:

• Face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping at fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, and monitoring collection tins
• Online fundraising – setting up online appeals and writing engaging cat case studies to maximise donations
• Marketing and promotion – spreading the word about fundraising activities via social media and local press
• Administration – processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, and completing Gift Aid paperwork
• Championing our work – helping to develop new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement
• Photography – capturing images of cats in care, cats we’re helping, fundraising events, and all things Cats Protection

Time commitment

This role is flexible and designed to fit around your other commitments. You’ll be part of a friendly team raising vital funds — and having fun along the way.
