In this role, you will provide expert financial guidance to the Board of Trustees, helping to shape the organisation’s long-term direction in partnership with the Chair. You will support the charity’s financial affairs, ensuring they are managed with integrity, transparency, and in line with legal, constitutional, and regulatory requirements.

You will ensure that robust financial systems and controls are in place, with accurate records maintained at all times. Working closely with the Head of Finance, you will monitor and report on the Charity’s financial health, providing clear and insightful analysis to support decision-making.

The role also includes oversight of the preparation of financial reports, annual accounts, audits, and statutory returns, ensuring the Charity meets all its financial obligations and deadlines.

The role
We are seeking a Treasurer with experience of financial reporting, oversight and governance to join our Board of Trustees. The right candidate will work closely with the current Treasurer who will provide mentoring support until they step down from the Board in September 2026.

Trustees have individual and collective responsibility to ensure the highest standards of Governance for ARC. You will work with the ARC Chair, Board and Strategic Leadership Team to deliver our strategic vision and help ensure the long-term future and success of ARC. The Treasurer is a trustee that offers strategic and financial oversight of the charity.

The ARC Board of Trustees meet four times a year; one in-person and three online, so the role will require a degree of travel and the occasional overnight stay.  Our Board is inclusive of people with additional needs who are experts by experience. 

This is a voluntary position.  Your travel and other out of pocket expenses will be paid.

About you 
You have experience of financial reporting, oversight and governance of a charity. A financial qualification would be helpful.

· You are a leader in social care, delivering or improving the support people get.

Terms of Office

This post may be held for a term of 3 years, then the post holder may stand for re-election for a further 3 years, after which time the post holder must stand down.

Person Specification

· A commitment to the values and principles of human rights, equality and inclusion.

· Knowledge and experience of accounting practices for corporate governance

· Knowledge and experience of financial regulations governing charities and companies

SHASBAH is in need  of a  Volunteer Treasurer to help continue our 60 year old charity and ensure smooth running of the charity finances while providing the  trustee board and staff with appropriate budgetary and financial information on the activities of the charity including organising annual accounts. 

A Treasurer maintains effective governance of the organisations affairs, ensuring its financial viability and ensuring that proper processes and procedures exist for assuring all financial records, decisions and delegations are maintained. Ensuring  our mission statement is being fulfilled. SHASBAH charity has trustees with a range of skills and lots of lived experience and has a small staff team. 

The Treasurer role will include:

•  Ensuring  that all accounts are prepared and disclosed in the form required by funders and the relevant statutory bodies including Charity Commission.

• Providing guidance and reviews of financial grants, loans and investments. 

• Recommending to our trustees and staff appropriate accounting procedures, controls and policies.

• Becoming a joint account holder and signatory. 

•  Working in close partnership with the Director of services in executing their responsibilities and achieving the charity goals.

• Ensuring that appropriate financial policies are in place. 

As a Treasurer you will be required to provide monthly updates on the charity finances to the trustees and attend quarterly meetings via zoom or in person. Approx 8 hours a month in total.  All are welcome to attend any events or meetings.

The Hospital Broadcasting Association (HBA) is seeking a Grants & Fundraising Officer to support the charity’s financial sustainability by identifying funding opportunities, developing applications and helping to build relationships with funders, sponsors and partners.

This is an opportunity to use your fundraising, research and communication skills to support a national charity that helps more than 140 hospital, health and wellbeing broadcasting organisations develop, collaborate and thrive.

This is a volunteer role working closely with the Treasurer and Trustee Board to help identify and develop new income opportunities that support the HBA’s strategic objectives.

What you'll do

As Grants & Fundraising Officer, you will support the HBA’s fundraising activity. Responsibilities include:

• Researching and identifying suitable grant funding opportunities aligned with the charity’s objectives.
• Supporting the preparation and submission of grant applications, working with Trustees and relevant stakeholders to gather information and evidence.
• Maintaining a record of funding opportunities, deadlines, applications and outcomes.
• Supporting the development of sponsorship opportunities, including for HBA events, awards and initiatives.
• Exploring opportunities for additional fundraising activity, partnerships and donor engagement.
• Supporting the Treasurer to ensure fundraising activity aligns with the charity’s financial priorities and reporting requirements.
• Maintaining accurate records of funding received, application requirements and reporting deadlines.
• Supporting grant monitoring, evaluation and reporting activity where required.
• Building positive relationships with potential funders, sponsors and partners.
• Providing updates and recommendations to the Treasurer and Trustee Board on fundraising opportunities and progress.

Role responsibilities and boundaries

The post holder reports to the Treasurer and works collaboratively with Trustees and other volunteers to support the HBA’s fundraising and income development activity. 

The role does not include authority to commit the HBA to funding agreements, sponsorship arrangements or financial obligations. The post holder must not enter into any agreement or contract on behalf of the HBA without prior approval from the Trustee Board.

Working with the HBA

The HBA is an entirely volunteer-led charity with no paid staff. Our volunteers play an important role in helping the organisation achieve its objectives by contributing their skills, experience and enthusiasm.

The Grants & Fundraising Officer will work closely with the Treasurer and Trustees, supporting the charity’s continued development while gaining experience of fundraising within a national voluntary organisation.

Meetings and commitment

The time commitment is approximately 8 hours per month.

Most activity can be carried out flexibly and remotely, with regular communication taking place online.

Location and expenses

This role can be carried out from anywhere in the UK, with most business conducted online.

Volunteers may occasionally be invited to attend HBA events, including trustee board meetings, the HBA Annual Conference and Awards, meetings with stakeholders or other charity activities.

Reasonable travel and out-of-pocket expenses incurred while carrying out volunteer duties will be reimbursed in line with the Association’s expenses policy.

Behçet’s Disease is an auto-immune disorder which is incurable but can be managed by specialist consultants. It is very rare and can affect any part of the body. It often takes years to diagnose and can be debilitating to the patient. 

Behçet’s Patients Centres (BPC), a charitable company, was formed in 2011 to provide the specialist, multi disciplinary care for patients.

We are seeking to recruit a Director to our Board in order to both increase our experience and skills base and to facilitate effective succession management. This is a volunteer role that offers rewarding experience and the chance to make a difference in the lives of those who are affected by this rare condition.

This is a highly autonomous role that will make a big difference to the Board of Directors and their purpose to provide a service to one of the rarest patient groups in England. We’re looking for someone who can come in and help us build on our achievements and do things even better. You will play an important role as a member of the Board of Directors, ensuring they are guided by your expertise.  We also work collaboratively with Behçet’s UK, the registered charity for patients with Behçet’s Disease and you’ll be building relationships with that charity. 

The time commitment for this role is around 2 to 3 days per month on average, with extra time needed around budgeting and year end accounts. 

Experience Required:

• Proven management and leadership skills
• Proven communication skills
• Awareness of both Charity and Data Protection Law
• Computer literate in use of Microsoft products
• Experience of contract performance management
• Flexibility of working hours to attend quarterly Director meetings and the Behçet’s UK Annual Conference
