Are you interested in helping to save wildlife? We are Swan Lifeline, based on Cuckoo Weir Island in Eton Berkshire, and our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and release sick and injured waterfowl.
We’re dependant on Volunteers and offer a very rewarding experience where you will learn lots and share amazing experiences as we transform lives. This volunteering role involves attending waterfowl who need rescuing and/or transporting to our site in Eton.
We’re looking for 2 types of specialist Volunteers: You could do either or both.
Rescuer (Home based): Rescuing swans and other waterfowl from home. You’ll only do simple rescues to start with i.e. moving a swan from a garden or road etc. (beginners will not be asked to attend water-based rescues). Requires confidence handling large birds (full training given) and a good level of physical fitness. We will set you up with equipment.
Driver: Collecting waterfowl (usually ducklings, cygnets, geese etc.) and dropping them to our site or transporting birds to a different rescue centre.
We do have a few requirements for the Rescue and Driver Volunteer role:
· You live no more than 50 miles radius from postcode SL4 6SS
· You have a full, clean driving license and your own vehicle
· You can work independently once fully trained (full training given at our site in Eton)
· Are over the age of 18 (sadly, our insurance doesn’t cover Minors)
· You have a passion for Swans and are comfortable (after training) handling large birds
· You are willing to join the WhatsApp group that we use to communicate. We post rescues and collections to the WA group, and we ask you to respond if you are able to go. There is no obligation to respond or attend if you are unable.

We integrate high-quality community health, sustainable livelihoods; education infrastructure and conservation programmes to support long term, sustainable change and add to international best practice through research and publication across all of our programmatic areas. We are now looking for entry level interns wishing to gain experience to work alongside our team.
Position Overview
This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience working with an award-winning international charity on their website, marketing and digital platforms. Working closely with the Communications and Marketing team, your skills will be used to maintain and improve the website, track performance metrics over time, contribute to campaigns and fundraising, and publicise the charity's programmes to an international audience.
This position can be worked from home, has flexible hours and is estimated to require 2-3 hours per week.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage updates to website pages via a CMS (Content Management System)
Publish blogs, press releases and other publications to the website
Participate in SEED’s small online marketing and PPC meetings once a month
Monitor and provide feedback on SEED’s website performance using Google Analytics
Assist in the creation of media campaigns such as Christmas Appeals
Improve website content for SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) rankings
Work with the Media and Communications Officer to improve marketing and communications
Work with the Programmes team to design an eye-catching and informative update to how our work is presented
Proactively suggest and make improvements to keep the website looking fresh and engaging
Person Specification
Experience of creating or updating a website using a CMS
Experience using Concrete5, Wordpress or similar
Experience of basic image editing and graphic design skills
Previous experience of Google Analytics, HTML and CSS knowledge and/or an understanding of SEO basics would be desirable
Critical eye for proofreading content according to organisational style and guidelines
Be fluent in English to a high standard
Be able to work to and advocate for all of SEED’s policies and procedures, safeguarding those that SEED works with and reporting any concerns appropriately
Be punctual and be able to work to tight deadlines in an organised manner and to a high standard
Have a flexible and patient attitude
Have excellent problem-solving skills
Be able to work both independently and as part of a team

Volunteer Role Overview
We’re looking for a creative and reliable Volunteer Social Media Assistant to help grow and maintain our online presence. This is a flexible, fully remote volunteer role ideal for someone passionate about animal welfare, adventure, travel, and digital storytelling.
While the role does not involve travel itself, we’re looking for someone who enjoys the adventure and travel space and can help bring that energy into engaging social media content whilst integrating some of the animal welfare stories from IAPWA.
