As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising volunteers use their passion for cats and people to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need. As a fundraising volunteer we want to support you to fundraise in whatever way suits you best, whether that’s organising a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, completing administration or supporting the development of new fundraising ideas! • completing administration. Processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork

● photography. Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection

Across the UK, our volunteer groups play a vital part in supporting people affected by MS, bringing people together and connecting our local MS communities.

As an Administration Volunteer you’ll play an essential role in your local group.

You’ll act as the first point of contact for the group and circulate information to other volunteers and members. You’ll ensure that data and details are kept up to date, to comply with data protection legislation.

In this role you’ll develop your administration and organisation skills. 

We are looking to grow our Board of Trustees to help to increase our reach, enhance our profile, spread our message and continue to develop sustainably.

We are seeking Trustees who will bring creative vision champion the role art plays in public cohesion and transforming people’s lives.We would like to recruit up to three new Trustees during 2026, ideally with experience of Finance, Fundraising or Artistic Programming.Arts at the Old Fire Station (AOFS) is known and respected for its values-led approach and passion for social change, and all Trustees are expected to share that commitment.

Role Description: 

We regularly run stalls at local events in Barnet. We are seeking volunteers who are passionate about tackling health inequalities, to support our team with delivering events and recording people’s feedback. Our events take place in a wide range of settings, including food banks, community centres and with faith groups. Our volunteers help to document resident feedback, and this directly supports our work to change and improve health and social care in Barnet.

Key tasks:

• Assisting with setting up information stalls at local events 
• Supporting event attendees to complete surveys, gathering their feedback
• Encouraging residents to use Healthwatch Barnet’s service as their independent health and social care champion 
• Attending training and volunteer meetings as needed 

In addition to the roles set out above, from time to time we recruit volunteers to support specific projects. Project groups are led by a member of the Healthwatch Barnet staff team. They are time-limited and come to an end when a piece of work is completed.

Note: All events take place in Barnet, during the weekday, between 9-5.

WANTED: Trustees to support over 3.5 million people living with genetic, rare and undiagnosed conditions.

Genetic Alliance UK is looking for three new trustees as well as a new chair due to existing board members having served the maximum time allowed.

We are an alliance of over 220 charities and support groups with an ambitious strategy focused on working together to improve the lives of the 1 in 17 people in the UK affected by rare, genetic or undiagnosed conditions. We campaign for timely diagnosis, better coordinated care, and improvements in screening, testing, services and treatment.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking candidates with a personal or professional passion for driving these improvements, who can bring relevant skills and experience to help shape our work.  As part of the organisation’s work to foster diversity, equity and inclusion, we aim to have a broad and varied membership of the Board. We encourage applications from the devolved nations of the UK. We particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience of rare, genetic or undiagnosed conditions either directly, via family and friends, or through a connection with one of our member organisations.

What will you be doing?

Trustees play a key role in leading and supporting the charity. We ask them to:

● Attend four Board meetings each year (at least two meetings are held online, with one or two in-person Board meetings each year usually in central London)

● Attend one in-person Board Strategy Away Day each year (usually following one of the in-person Board meetings)

● Attend the one-hour Annual General Meeting in autumn each year

● Consider joining one of our sub-committees, with up to four online meetings each year.

The roles are voluntary (unpaid). We reimburse reasonable expenses necessary for attending meetings and taking part in Genetic Alliance UK activities. 

Most of our trustees are sponsored by our member organisations. If you have a connection with one of the charities in our alliance or the conditions they support, please mention this on your application.

We will provide full induction for successful candidates.

All postholders will be appointed for a first term of up to three years, with a possible further three years and up to a maximum nine years in exceptional circumstances.

Puppy Raiser Volunteers Needed

Could you welcome a puppy into your home and support the early stages of their journey?

Autism Dogs Charity is looking for caring puppy raiser volunteers to provide safe, loving homes for puppies while they begin their early development.

Placements can be up to 8–10 months when a dog is placed as a puppy. During this time, you’ll help with day-to-day care, routine, socialisation and gentle early learning, with guidance from our team.

This is an exciting leadership opportunity to guide and inspire a team of volunteer content writers, oversee content planning and development, and play a key role in delivering our communications strategy. From website articles and member publications to awareness campaigns and digital content, your work will help ensure that people living with CRPS, their families, healthcare professionals and supporters have access to high-quality, accurate and engaging information.

Deaf Unity is a deaf-led charity that works to empower deaf individuals. We equip deaf students, jobseekers and professionals with the knowledge, confidence and community to succeed in education and employment.

Purpose of the role

To oversee Deaf Unity’s financial operations, ensuring that the charity remains financially viable and complies with Charity Commission regulations and strong accounting practices at all times, The Treasurer will ensure that proper financial records are kept and that the Board of Trustees understands the financial position at all times. 

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the charity’s financial position
• Present budgets, management accounts and financial statements to the Board
• Help trustees understand financial information and advise on financial implications of the charity’s strategic plans
• Support budgeting and financial planning, including developing and implementing financial policies (e.g. reserves and investment policies),
• Ensure proper financial controls are in place and that proper accounting records are kept
• Oversee the preparation of annual accounts
• Ensure compliance with Charity Commission and HMRC regulations (e.g. Gift Aid)

You will work closely with the CEO, Chair, trustees and staff who are managing day-to-day finance and banking and will be required to attend quarterly meetings of the Finance and Risk sub-group of the Board, in addition to the full Board meeting

What is a trustee?

All trustees share responsibility for running the charity.

This includes:

• Attending board meetings, usually 4 times per year.
• Helping make strategic decisions
• Acting in the best interests of the charity and its beneficiaries

Trustee responsibilities are set out by the Charity Commission for England and Wales.

Skills we are looking for

Essential skills:

• Knowledge of bookkeeping and financial management (e.g. use of XERO, SAGE accounting packages)
• Experience of financial reporting, budgeting and risk management
• An understanding of (or willingness to learn about) charity accounting
• Ability to explain financial information clearly
• Good judgement and decision-making skills
• Interest in supporting deaf communities

Desirable:

• Professional accounting qualification

Volunteer with the MS Society Help Hub

Do you want to make a real difference to people affected by MS? 

Our MS Help Hub is a national service that supports around 20,000 enquiries every year, providing trusted information and emotional support to people living with MS, their families, friends and carers. 

We’re looking for compassionate and supportive volunteers to join our national team and help ensure no one has to face MS alone.

As a home based MS Help Hub Volunteer, you’ll provide emotional support and practical information through telephone conversations. You’ll help people access services, resources and support in a welcoming, non-judgemental environment.

You don’t need to have all the answers. Full training, ongoing support and guidance from staff, other volunteers and specialists will be provided throughout your volunteering journey. (Information on training dates can be found below) 

Join our passionate volunteer community and help make sure no one has to face MS alone.

Time commitment

This flexible, home-based role involves an agreed commitment of three volunteering hours each week, plus attendance at monthly team meetings.

Preferred cover times are Monday to Friday between 11am and 1pm, although all availability will be considered. The Help Hub operates Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm.

Training 

Training will consist of online modules, each taking between 30-90 minutes which will be delivered on Tuesdays and Thursdays, am and pm, every week during July and August. You must be able to commit to these training times. Please see the longer advertisement on information on how to contact us with questions around training

• Offering emotional support and information in a non-judgemental and non-directive way 

• Using active listening skills to support a range of conversations 

• Signposting people affected by MS to relevant services and support 

• Developing awareness of social and medical issues affecting people with MS, including statutory services and welfare benefits 

• Recording enquiry information in line with our Data Protection Policy 

• Escalating safeguarding concerns and referring complex enquiries when needed 

• Attending monthly team meetings and training sessions 

• Keeping up to date with MS news and our work across the UK
