At St John Ambulance, we are looking to develop our volunteering offer and become an even more integral part of our communities through delivering community first aid and education. 

We need people who have a passion for helping others, care about their communities and want to make a difference. Through volunteering as an Emergency Responder, you’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride delivering essential first aid and lifesaving clinical care at community and major events in your areas, including at sporting events, concerts, community festivals.

We will make sure you will have access to a proper induction to volunteering with SJA and the training you need for the role you take on. We will also provide you with a supportive environment while you are volunteering with us. Information about our volunteer roles are included in the role descriptions. What you can expect from SJA, and what we expect from those who volunteer with us, is included in the volunteer charter.

Volunteers will be required to attend a 2hour Network meeting in either Oldham or Denton, details will be shared upon induction.

The Community Ambassador Volunteer role is a flexible, people-focused role where you'll represent MumsAid at local events, community fairs, business engagement opportunities, and awareness-raising activities. Acting as a friendly and knowledgeable ambassador, you'll help share information about our services, fundraising activities, and volunteering opportunities, helping more people learn about MumsAid. 

No previous experience is required. We will provide training, resources, and ongoing support to help you feel confident representing MumsAid in your community. 

What will you be doing? 

• Representing MumsAid at local community events, fairs, markets, business events, and awareness-raising opportunities. 

• Acting as a friendly and welcoming point of contact for members of the public. 

• Talking to people about MumsAid's services and the support available. 

• Sharing information about volunteering, fundraising, and ways to get involved with MumsAid. 

• Distributing leaflets, promotional materials, and information resources. 

• Helping raise awareness of perinatal mental health and the support available through MumsAid. 

• Answering general questions about MumsAid and signposting enquiries to the appropriate staff member where needed. 

• Gathering feedback, questions, and community insights to share with the MumsAid team. 

• Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and welcoming presence for MumsAid within the local community. 

• Following MumsAid's policies and procedures, including safeguarding, confidentiality, health and safety, and equality and diversity guidance.

This is a walk like no other; this is thousands of people walking for a better future for those with dementia. Join the volunteer team on Saturday 26th September at Bute Park, in Cardiff.

There is something for everyone, with roles based in the event site and along the route. Be part of an unforgettable event experience as you cheer at a marshal point, follow the route as a back marker, sell some goodies or congratulate walkers with their finish line medal. Growing Hope Maidstone champions accessibility and provides free therapy for children with additional needs and their families in partnership with local churches. We aim to bring hope to children through providing free therapy. We grow hope for families where hope has been lost due to isolation and rejection through our free courses and workshops, and more. We share hope in Jesus, because he brings hope even in the most difficult situations.  The trustees board is responsible for the governance of the local charity and supports the clinic in delivering its charitable objectives. The Finance trustee will support the Clinic Manager in delivering the Charity’s mission and vision, ensuring our culture of collaboration, curiosity and innovation continues. Trustees may act as a spokesperson and ambassador for the clinic where appropriate.

The Finance trustee will be responsible for advising on the budget and ensuring that payments are made as expected.
They will be expected to liaise with the Finance Officer who runs the day-to-day processes for Growing Hope. They will be required to give a quarterly update to the trustees as to the financial position of the charity (supported by reports provided by the Finance Officer). The role will also involve either running gift aid claims or sourcing a volunteer to do this.

Trustee Role Requirements

• Committed Christian
• Attending Trustee meetings on a quarterly basis (once every three months)
• Ability to work collaboratively and strategically
• Experience of charity governance or a willingness to learn
• Expertise in the area of finance and budgeting
• Commitment to champion the local Growing Hope clinic, offering ongoing support of the Clinic Manager by attending fundraising events and being an ambassador for the charity where appropriate
• The role could also include helping to gather additional support through volunteers, offering additional time to help with grant writing, event organising and similar roles where appropriate

About Growing Hope
Growing Hope was founded by Dr Naomi Fox who started the national charity and the first local clinic in Kings Cross in February 2018. Knowing how desperate families are for support, Growing Hope bridges the gap between the need and availability of therapy services. Growing Hope national charity provide support, structures, services and training to local Growing Hope clinics and have a vision to set up twenty clinics in partnership with local churches by 2030.
 

Context
Growing Hope Maidstone is set up in partnership with St. Luke’s Maidstone and seeks to be a collaborative venture with other local churches. The clinics provide free therapy services for children and young people with additional needs and their families living in the local area. The aim is to provide a holistic service which supports parents, carers and siblings - as well as the children and young people themselves. Growing Hope Maidstone currently offers Art Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy.

About the Role

We are Buttons & Bubbles C.I.C. and our mission is to increase inclusion and representation for the disability community across society. We offer a variety of services including bespoke characters, workshops, free resources, events, sensory trails, and more.

We want to collaborate with more organisations, schools, and hospitals to spread the word about our work and services. To do this, we are looking for volunteers to join our outreach team and support these efforts.

This fundraising role is enjoyable, very varied and could involve tasks such as:

· Helping out on a stall for a few hours at a fair.

· Raising awareness of HOLG at corporate/commercial partner events.

· Helping out on one of our social fundraisers such as quiz nights, theatre nights, concerts etc.

· Running a raffle or tombola.

· Being an ambassador to raise awareness to the work of HOLG.

· Prepare, set up and take down for events (including gazebos, etc).

The list is not exhaustive and will often depend on what fundraising opportunities we have through the year!

We are also keen to establish a team of helpers to identify locations and distribute and manage our collections boxes at restaurants, shops, pubs, leisure centres – indeed, anywhere that would be willing to host!

• Fundraising Heroes - Whether it’s rallying local businesses, organising events, or getting creative with unique fundraising ideas, you’ll play a crucial role in keeping SSAFA’s support going strong.
• Administrators - Are you detail-oriented and love keeping things organised? Assist with branch and event administration, manage schedules and branch calendars, and ensure everything runs smoothly currently being undertaken.

The skills you need

• Be friendly and approachable.
• Confident to engage with the public, potential clients, volunteers and SSAFA colleagues face-to-face.
• Reliable attitude, staying connected with your Branch and/or Community Engagement Manager about your availability.
• Access to public transport or a car to get to events if necessary.
• Basic IT skills would be an advantage.

Role overview:

As the Volunteer Fundraising Coordinator, you will play a vital role in helping us raise the essential funds that keep our cat rescue work going. This position is key to ensuring we can continue to provide care, veterinary treatment, food, and a safe haven to cats in need. You will take the lead on planning and delivering fundraising activities and work closely with the wider team to help grow support for our charity.

Key responsibilities:

• Fundraising campaigns: Plan, lead and deliver creative fundraising initiatives (both online and in-person).

• Event coordination: Organise and promote fundraising events such as raffles, auctions, online events, and local community events.

• Donor engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with donors, thanking them and keeping them informed about how their contributions are used.

The difference you will make to cats and people

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising team leaders have the exciting and varied role of inspiring our fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local fundraising events. Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

The Wardrobe Officer is responsible for managing and maintaining the chapter's costumes, wigs and props, ensuring they are available, clean and in good condition for events. The role involves keeping accurate records of costume allocation, coordinating costume distribution and returns, and supporting volunteers with costume requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain an inventory of all costumes, wigs and props.
• Keep accurate records of who has borrowed costumes and when they are returned.
• Ensure costumes are clean, well-presented and stored appropriately.
• Monitor costumes for wear and damage and arrange repairs when needed.
• Coordinate costume allocation for upcoming events.
• Update the Wardrobe Database and costume logs on OneDrive.
• Provide monthly updates to the committee regarding wardrobe stock and requirements.
• Work with the Board's Wardrobe Manager regarding costume needs and future purchases.
• Review event photographs and provide guidance on costume presentation where appropriate.
