The difference you will make to cats and people

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising volunteers use their passion for cats and people to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need. As a fundraising volunteer we want to support you to fundraise in whatever way suits you best, whether that’s organising a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, completing administration or supporting the development of new fundraising ideas! Whatever your skill set, this could be the role for you!

What we need from you

This is a really flexible role – you can choose what you’d like to get involved with, for example:

• face-to-face fundraising. Organising or helping with fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, monitoring collection tins 
• online fundraising. Setting up online appeals and writing impactful cat case studies that maximise donations
• marketing. Spreading the word about our fundraising activities, for example on social media and with the local press
• completing administration. Processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork
• championing our work. Getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement
• photography. Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection
• You’ll need to be aged 18+ to volunteer in this role. If you’re aged 16-17, you’ll need to be supervised by a friend, family member, or guardian over the age of 18 in order to carry out any fundraising activity.

Time expectation

This is a flexible role that can fit around your other commitments to suit you. You’ll be part of a team raising vital funds while having fun in the process!

Mencap Volunteer Visitor (Woodwork, Football and Walking - Coventry)

We offer a lifelong befriending service for adults with learning disabilities. Matching the skills and interests of passionate visitors with the specific hobbies and interests of the people we visit. Visitors visit six times a year to create a 1-2-1 connection, offer companionship, encourage people to do the things they enjoy and check-in on their wellbeing. In many cases, the visitor is the only person in someone’s life who isn’t paid to be there for them.

We are looking for a patient and caring volunteer to visit a man in his early 60s who lives in a supported living home in central Coventry. He enjoys going to watch the football, woodwork and crafts, gentle walks, and watching sports and films.

This is an Out and about visit role which means your visits are likely to be longer, very active and the person you visit will often take an active part in planning your outings and activities in the community. Your volunteer manager will be happy to help you with ideas and suggestions for things you can do. Visits will vary in length but tends to be around a couple of hours, sometimes shorter or longer, depending on what you plan to do.

In this role you will spend quality time with the person you visit and could do a range of different activities like:

• Sitting and having a chat
• Checking in on their well- being
• Going out to a local café/pub for a meal/drink
• Take part on community activities like visiting a place of interest, go shopping etc.
• Enjoying a walk
• A craft activity at home

As a Mencap volunteer visitor you will be:

DCF are a family-founded charity, based in South London, focusing on supporting children and young people's wellbeing. We provide youth groups, workshops and 121 support in schools and in the community. 

This is an exciting, key opportunity to develop our income generation, therefore supporting us to reach more young people.

The role will involve:

Supporting the Finance & Accounts Controller Trustee
Presenting financial reports to the board in a format that helps the board understand the charity’s financial position
Advising the board on how to carry out its financial responsibilities
Overseeing the preparation and scrutiny of annual accounts
Taking on day to day financial duties, such as book-keeping, budgeting and preparation of reports

What are we looking for?

This individual should have:

Knowledge of finance practices and reporting
Bookkeeping qualification
Ability to explain financial procedures to other Board members
Ability to think creatively and strategically, and to exercise good, independent judgement.
Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.

The role will involve:

Our volunteers help us fund lifesaving science to improve the lives of families and loved ones living with heart and circulatory disease. Volunteering with us is easy, flexible, and inclusive. If you can spare a few hours a week, or a couple of hours occasionally, we’d love you to join our volunteer team.

Our Sales Floor Volunteers are the first point of contact for customers when they enter our charity shop. You will be greeting customers, helping them find the items they’re looking for and answering their questions, with help on hand from the shop team. You will provide invaluable help in the running of the shop, keeping it stocked and attractively displayed.

Just so you know, we are unable to accept volunteers aged under 17 or with unspent criminal convictions. Please note this is an unpaid voluntary position in a friendly charity shop.

Typical tasks include:

· Helping customers on the shop floor & providing good all-round customer service

· Promoting our campaigns and any instore sales to customers

· Working on window and shop displays to make them look their best

· Keeping the shop tidy, clean and well organised – some light housekeeping

· Helping your fellow volunteers and staff with customer queries

At WWT we shape unforgettable experiences.  At heart we are warm, welcoming and genuine.  In our Waterside Cafe we do this by offering a delicious selection of home cooked food and chilled drinks, served and assisted by our friendly team of staff and volunteers.  

We are looking for volunteers who can support our team in the Waterside Cafe and ensure we offer excellent customer service to our visitors.

Working alongside the Kitchen Manager and catering team to provide an inviting and relaxing environment in between gorgeous walks and beautiful sights. 

Volunteers are an essential part of the WWT team. You'll get a warm welcome, including information on training, equipment and anything else you need. 

About You

To carry out this role, you will need:

• Good verbal communication skills
• Some understanding around H&S within a catering environment 
• To enjoy working as part of a team
• Good general fitness as this role involves spending periods of time on your feet and may involve lifting
• To be reliable and committed to the role and the team

We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to support Dimensions with fundraising as part of our 50th birthday celebrations in 2026.If you’re looking for Fundraising experience or you love to make a difference, this is the perfect opportunity to get involved! 
 
Activities will include 

• Launching Small Sparks grants and all associated fundraising as part of our 50th celebrations 

• Encouraging the people we support and their support teams to think what they could do with a Small Sparks grant and make nominations 

• Manage the small fundraising budget, aiming to maximise colleague participation 

• Planning and delivering fundraising activities throughout the year

About you 

We are looking for someone who is: 

• A natural ball of energy and a people person.

• Passionate about supporting people to live better lives, with the communication skills to get colleagues, the people we support and their families to join you in your mission. 

• Friendly and enthusiastic   

• Reliable/dependable and willing to volunteer regularly (ideally 2 –3 days per week, around your availability)  

Two character references will be required for this role.

Our Cat Welfare Support volunteers typically volunteer for two to four hours per week. This role is flexible and can fit around your other commitments.
