Volunteer Drivers
Enthusiastic, hands-on volunteers needed to help provide food to the community. Bounds Green Food Bank is fortunate in receiving food and other donations from local supermarkets, businesses and individuals. We are grateful to our team of volunteer drivers who both collect and deliver on the food bank’s behalf each week.
Hours: At any time during the week - this is a very flexible role and there is no minimum time commitment, can choose deliveries to suit your own schedule.
Location: Around the Enfield and Haringey area
About Bounds Green Food Bank:
Open since June 2020, we serve over 1,500 children and adults in the community. We are committed to improving lives by providing food and essential household items to build a healthy, hunger-free tomorrow. We strive to promote social inclusion by supporting people who find themselves in a crisis situation where they need assistance to feed themselves and their families.
Requirements:

A driver's license and your own vehicle

WhatsApp, as this is how deliveries are organised
The role:
-
Each week a timetable showing scheduled food donations by local stores and businesses is posted on the volunteer drivers’ WhatsApp group
-
Drivers indicate to the group that they are able to make a particular collection, adding their name to the schedule (this is editable by all chat members)

Once collected, the donation will need to be delivered either to the hall or to a nearby storage facility according to instructions

The food bank also makes up parcels for guests unable to access the hall in person. Drivers collect from the hall and deliver to guests, all of whom live within the surrounding area

Communications Team Lead (Volunteer)
We are seeking a creative and experienced Communications Team Lead to play a vital role in raising awareness of the mission of Bounds Green Food Bank and drive donations. They will be responsible for leading a team of volunteers and assisting the team in coming up with creative ways to spread the word of the food bank.

The role:

Create and lead on communication campaigns and initiatives to raise funds, recruit volunteers and promote our impact

Manage a fantastic Communications Team of remote volunteers with specific roles (social media, website management, business partnership, graphics and community liaison), providing guidance and managing workload

Work closely with the Fundraising Lead to create effective fundraising campaigns through newsletters, social media, flyers, events and our website.

Liaise with the other team leads via a group chat and occasional team meetings, staying up to date with changes across the charity and providing input from the Comms Team
Person specification:

Previous experience in marketing, communications, or related fields preferred.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate and inspire a team of volunteers.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

We are seeking an organised and enthusiastic Volunteer Recruitment Officer to utilise their excellent administrative and personal skills to advertise for, shortlist and onboard new volunteers.
Location: Remote (although ability to join occasional face-to-face training and meetings in Bounds Green desirable)

Liaise with different team leads to create enticing job descriptions for new volunteer roles

Post and manage volunteer adverts on different recruitment websites like Indeed, Charity Job and Third Sector Jobs

Review applications and shortlist suitable applicants, which will include speaking with them to answer questions and collaborating with the relevant team lead to organise interviews or opportunities to visit us to learn more

Update the database with applicant contact points and recruitment progress

Support with onboarding new volunteers, e.g. ensuring they have completed the relevant registration forms, provided any necessary documents,and are able to join our on-line communities.

Excellent written and verbal communication in English

Fantastic organisational skills

Experience in administrative or recruitment roles desirable but not essential
