We are looking for up to ten UK university students to join our volunteer Student Ambassadors team and help Ygam achieve its social purpose by reaching out to students at university. This will be achieved by advising Ygam on the needs of students, supporting with content development, organising activities at your campus, and join us at events to raise awareness of gaming and gambling harms.

We are seeking individuals who are outgoing, with a confident personality. You will enjoy engaging with other students and be able to advise us on the experiences of students with regards to gaming and gambling.

Role Summary

Quilombo UK is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Services Sales Specialist to join our team as a self-employed contractor. This is a crucial, target-driven, commission-only role focused on generating revenue by converting prospective service users into paying clients.The successful candidate will gain direct, high-impact sales experience that mirrors the standards and performance expectations of a paid sales position, with the added benefit of earning commission on all confirmed deals.

Compensation Structure

● Payment Basis: This is a commission-only, self-employed contractor position. There is no fixed salary or hourly wage. The specialist is responsible for invoicing Quilombo UK monthly for earned commission.

● Commission: Commission is earned per converted sale, payable only after the customer’s second monthly payment is successfully processed.

○ Standard £200 ePDP Sale: £25 commission

○ Subsidized £100 Sale: £10 commission

○ 2-Month Rolling Sale: £65 commission

● Payment Schedule: Commission earned is paid monthly, 30 days after receipt of the monthly invoice from the specialist, following the trigger (receipt of the customer's second payment) being confirmed.

Main Responsibilities

This is a target-driven, client-facing role responsible for the full sales cycle:

● Lead Generation: Proactively research and identify prospective clients aligned with Quilombo UK’s mission and services.

● Outreach & Pitching: Initiate direct outreach (calls, emails, online meetings) with clients directly.

● Closing Deals: Deliver compelling sales pitches and presentations, handle end-to-end sales processes, and secure contracts for services.

● Pipeline Management: Develop and maintain a strong client pipeline, updating CRM or tracking systems regularly.

● Performance: Consistently meet or exceed weekly/monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to outreach, meetings, and revenue conversions.

● Strategy: Collaborate with the Director to refine messaging and sales strategy for maximum impact. Services to be Sold

• Experience working within survivor-led, trauma-informed, or community-based organisations.
• Experience in social care, youth work, community work, or similar environments involving safeguarding responsibilities.

Essential Skills

• Strong operational judgement and ability to make clear, consistent decisions under safeguarding and ethical frameworks.
• Excellent attention to detail, particularly around consent, language, framing, and contextual risk.

• Ability to work collaboratively with content, moderation, safeguarding, and campaign teams.

Training & Qualifications

• Formal safeguarding training is essential.

Note: Lived experience alone is not sufficient for this role; demonstrated operational judgement and safeguarding competence are required.

Main Responsibilities/ Key Duties

• Review all content prior to publication to identify safeguarding risks, consent clarity, trauma exposure, and inappropriate language or framing.
• Apply content approval protocols consistently, ensuring decisions are aligned with safeguarding, ethical, and organisational standards.
• Ensure survivor testimony and sensitive content comply with informed consent requirements, usage agreements, and platform-appropriate boundaries.
• Assess whether content is suitable for public release, restricted distribution, amendment, or rejection based on risk and impact.
• Liaise closely with key stakeholders to ensure joined-up decision-making, including the Content Librarian / Asset Manager, Community Moderation team, Safeguarding Officer, and campaign leads.
• Maintain clear and auditable records of content approvals, rejections, required amendments, and final outcomes.
• Flag and escalate safeguarding concerns, boundary breaches, and high-risk material promptly in line with CIC escalation pathways.
• Support the development, refinement, and documentation of content approval frameworks and trauma-informed content guidelines.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying recurring risks, gaps in guidance, or training needs related to content safety.

Becoming a trap, neuter and return (TNR) volunteer is one way you can make a real difference to cats in your local area. Our TNR volunteers help reduce the number of feral cats by raising awareness of our TNR programmes, setting humane traps to safely capture cats, taking them to local vets to be neutered, and hopefully returning them back to their territory. Local TNR programmes are crucial, as feral and abandoned cats present a huge challenge for communities across the UK.

• Liaising with vets to promote and arrange neutering 

Time expectation 

This is a flexible role and the hours will vary depending on the number of cats identified for specific TNR campaigns. Our current TNR volunteers spend about 2 to 3 hours per week in this role which can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

• Familiarity with the UK Freedom of Information Act and FOI request procedures

• Strong written communication and research skills

• Ability to interpret and summarise data clearly

• Previous experience with FOI requests (desirable but not essential)

The difference you will make to cats and people

From elderly moggies to energic kittens, every day across the UK cats and kittens are in need of a temporary place to stay, and lots of love and TLC! We need more fosterers like you to provide a safe, temporary haven for cats and kittens and provide them with everything they need before they get their chance to land on their four paws and make a house a home.

You can expect us to

• Ensure you have all you need in place to foster the cat(s) in your care, for example equipment and food
• Cover all your foster cats’ expenses and agreed out-of-pocket expenses in line with our Expenses Policy

We are looking for indoor and outdoor Fosterers.

What we need from you 

• A stable, safe and compassionate environment in your home or in a purpose-built pen in your garden provided by us
• Enrich the cats’ experience in care including play, exercise and appropriate handling/interaction
• A willingness to complete some training in order to provide high standards of cat welfare
• Introduce cats to prospective adopters so they can find their forever home

Time expectation

Our volunteer fosterers usually spend around one and a half hours per day (around 10 to 13 hours per week) in this role, but this might vary depending on the number of cats or kittens in care.
