Job description:

We are unable to accept volunteers who are under 16.

We are looking for volunteers to support our Sheringham charity shop by helping to keep the sales floor clean, tidy, well stocked and organised and offering a helping hand to customers. The time you dedicate will help us to make the most of the incredible donations to our charity shops and raise more funds for our vital animal welfare work.

Tasks and responsibilities:

• Helping customers to find what they need and delivering great customer service
• Ensuring that the shop is clean, tidy and well organised
• Creating eye-catching window and shop displays
• Replenishing and rotating stock
• Promoting our campaigns and instore sales

Relevant training and support will be provided.

What we are looking for:

• Friendly, helpful and confident when working with the public
• Happy to work as part of a team
• Retail experience would be ideal but is not necessary as full training will be given

Flexible days and hours to be agreed.

Our voluntary roles are subject to an informal interview and taster sessions. We will ask you to provide contact details for two referees, and you may need to sign an agreement and undergo specific training before starting the role.

Help support inspiring trekkers as they take on 13 or 26 miles to raise vital funds for dementia.

Trekking a marathon or half-marathon is no mean feat so we need volunteers just like you, to help give our trekkers as much support as possible on the day. This could be a cup of tea at one of our rest stops, a friendly word of encouragement on the route, or a triumphant cheer across the finish line.

As part of our volunteer crew, you’ll help give trekkers the encouragement and all important boost they need to keep going strong. We can guarantee that it means the world to our trekkers.

No experience needed, just bring your energy and enthusiasm! There is something for everyone, with roles based in the event hub, rest stops and along the route.

Volunteers over the age of 14 are welcome, but if you are under 16 you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

You will welcome clients and visitors, and support the smooth running of our local office at our drop in sessions on Mondays or Thursdays (or both)

Commitment: 6 hours/week (flexible)

Receptionists are the first point of contact for clients, welcoming visitors. You’ll record client details on our computer system, explain waiting times, and help ensure the service runs smoothly. The role builds communication, IT, and teamwork skills while making a real difference in the community. Full training and expense reimbursement are provided.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone with a great eye for detail who enjoys keeping things organised and running smoothly. You'll be curious, keen to learn, and comfortable juggling a range of tasks from project support and research to evaluation activity. You'll work with a variety of stakeholders, so clear communication, confidence using IT, and an interest in tools such as surveys and evaluation platforms will really help you thrive in the role.

What you'll do

Lead a piece of work to review and evaluate our current learning and development surveys and engagement metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement and making recommendations to enhance their effectiveness.

Are you interested in helping to save wildlife? We are Swan Lifeline, based on Cuckoo Weir Island in Eton Berkshire, and our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and release sick and injured waterfowl.

We’re dependant on Volunteers to manage our site operation and offer a very rewarding experience where you will learn lots and share amazing experiences as we transform lives. · You make a regular commitment that fits with our shift system (ideally once a week but a minimum of 2 half days a month)

Sooty, the nation’s much-loved bear and a true national treasure, has featured on RNIB’s collection boxes for over 50 years. Thanks to generous public support, these iconic boxes have raised more than £13 million in donations.

We’re looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to join our network of Sooty Box collectors. In this flexible role, you’ll help place new boxes and collect and bank donations from Sooty Boxes in local shops, cafés and other businesses in your area. Whether you volunteer on your own, with a friend or as part of a group, you’ll be making a real difference in your community.

Transport Support Volunteer

Watford and Three Refugees Partnership is a charity offering practical and emotional support to asylum seekers, migrants and refugees in Watford and Three Rivers. We are looking for a team of volunteers who have time to support our clients in the community.

Would you like to join a team within our charity that provides more practical support to our clients?

Some examples of support includes;

· Helping with house moves

· Collecting furniture that is being donated and drop off at client’s homes

· Lifts to attend appointments if the client struggles using public transport

You must have access to your own vehicle. You will work as part of a supportive team and it can fit around work and caring commitments. You will be able to claim mileage at 45p per mile and parking costs as expenses. We will need proof that your driving documents are up to date, including informing your insurance that you are using your car for ‘business’ purposes (usually at no extra cost).
