SUNSHINE exists because loneliness is not just an issue — it is a crisis that is quietly affecting thousands of people across London. Too many people are living without meaningful human connection, and the impact can be devastating.

SUNSHINE was founded to change that by creating warmth, belonging, friendship and hope for those who need it most.

Inspired by real lived experience, SUNSHINE is a charity built on compassion, community and action. We want to build something truly transformational: a charity that helps people feel seen, valued and connected, while creating lasting change across London and, in time, across England and Wales.

We are now looking for a small team of committed volunteers to support our Founder in helping to manage SUNSHINE Charity and play a key role in shaping its future success.

Our Volunteer Opportunity

This is a powerful opportunity to be part of something meaningful from the very beginning.

We are seeking Charity Management Volunteers who can bring energy, initiative, organisation and a genuine belief in SUNSHINE’s mission.

You will work closely with the Founder to help guide the charity’s development, strengthen its operations, and support the delivery of our vision, mission and objectives.

This is not simply an admin role — it is an opportunity to be a key figurehead within SUNSHINE, helping to build a strong, credible, values-led charity that can achieve huge success and make a real difference to people’s lives.

We help young menstruators improve mental health and menstrual literacy through embodied game-based app experiences.​

We’re Howami, a bold, empathetic UK-based startup on a mission to transform how young people and their carers navigate menstrual and emotional health. We are soon to launch Million Moons, a global storytelling and fundraising initiative that will shift how the world talks about and understands menstrual health and youth emotional and mental wellbeing.

The role

We are looking for an in-house data-driven yet deeply creative Digital Marketing Specialist to collaborate with our PR and Marketing Partners and drive our paid social strategy and content ecosystem. You will build the tracking that tells us what’s working, produce authentic user-generated content that earns attention honestly, and make sure every message, from a three-second hook to a landing-page headline, carries the Million Moons voice with care. You will be the bridge between the numbers and the narrative.

What you’ll do in collaboration with our PR and Marketing Partners:

Technical tracking & analytics

1. Implement and configure the Meta Pixel and Conversions API via Google Tag Manager for clean, reliable tracking and attribution.
2. Set up, test, and troubleshoot custom conversion events.
3. Audit tracking health regularly, resolve data discrepancies, and sharpen ad targeting.

UGC content creation & creative direction

1. Ideate, script, and produce compelling user-generated content (UGC) for Meta (Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok) campaigns and organic social.
2. Manage the content process end to end: casting creators and storytellers, directing shoots, and editing final assets.
3. Watch for creative fatigue and iterate on top-performing UGC formats (testimonials, behind-the-scenes, explainers) to grow reach and engagement, always keeping dignity and consent at the centre.

Key messaging & strategy

1. Lead the development of localized, high-performing messaging frameworks for the European and, eventually, the Global market.
2. Hold the line on brand voice and tone across every touchpoint, from ad copy to landing pages.
3. Translate broad goals into clear, persuasive copy tailored to different audience personas — without ever losing the warmth that makes people stay.

What you’ll bring

This list describes the shape of the role, not a checklist you must tick perfectly. If you’re early in your career but learn fast and care deeply, we want to hear from you.

1. Hands-on curiosity with the tools. Around 1–2 years of experience or equivalent practice through internships, freelance work, personal projects, or study with Google Tag Manager, Meta Ads Manager, and TikTok. If you’ve been teaching yourself, that counts.
2. A creative eye. Some examples of UGC or content you’ve created or directed. A polished agency portfolio is welcome, but so is a TikTok you grew from scratch or a campaign you ran for a cause or side project. We care about the thinking behind it.
3. A way with words. A feel for copywriting and an instinct for what an audience actually needs to hear. You need a good ear and the willingness to revise.
4. An analytical mindset. Comfort with (or genuine eagerness to learn) Google Analytics, and a habit of letting data guide the next decision.
5. Heart. A genuine connection to our mission. You don’t have to share every story, but you do have to care about the people telling them. This matters to us as much as any technical skill.

This is 4-6 month volunteer position, beginning in June, with the chance to shape a marketing function from the ground up, working on a mission that matters. You’ll have real ownership while working with our professional PR and Marketing Partners and be part of a team that values both rigour and kindness.

Youth Helpers also help young people develop their confidence, teamwork skills, self-discipline, and generally encourage them to strive to be the best they can be, as well as supervise and support other adult volunteers in their team.

You’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride delivering an essential service. It’s great for you, great for your community and great for our nation, and it requires only a small commitment of your time.

Our shops help raise lots of money for us. It’s always lovely chatting to our customers about the fabulous items we sell and telling them about the fantastic work that we do. As a volunteer you will get the chance to meet new people and make friends, plus be part of an amazing team of volunteers.

On the shop floor, as well as welcoming and serving our customers with a smile, you will be using the till (don't worry, we will show you how) and handling money. When people come in to donate items you will also be completing the Gift Aid forms that let their donations help us even more. You will also be answering the telephone. The role would suit anyone with basic computer skills, and a clear phone voice.

Hospital Visitor Volunteer

Hospital Visitor volunteers visit hospital settings to ensure that people detained under the Mental Health Act are aware that they have a legal right to an IMHA qualified advocate.The volunteers are instrumental in ensuring that clients get access to an advocate and can also support the work that advocates undertake.

As a hospital volunteer, you might: 

• hold drop-in sessions
• attend events and ward meetings at local facilities
• share information
• assist people to request advocacy support by completing a form online or calling our contact centre

All volunteering will take place Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 17:00.  You will need to be over 18 years old and be living in the UK. Please note that there is no opportunity to volunteer at weekends or in the evening.

• Use independent judgment, acting legally and in good faith to promote and protect Change Agents UK’s interests, to the exclusion of their own personal and/or any third-party interests.
• Contribute to the broader success of Change Agents UK’s objects, aims and reputation by applying your skills, expertise, knowledge and contacts. There will be times when the Trustees will need to be actively involved beyond Board meetings. This may involve reading and commenting on board papers, leading discussions, focusing on key issues, providing advice and guidance on new initiatives, presenting externally, or other issues in which the trustee has special expertise.
• Utilise your own network to promote the work and activities of Change Agents UK.

We’re looking to recruit dynamic, committed and motivated people with professional skills and experience who are as passionate as we are about empowering individuals to work through and beyond their experience of sexual abuse.

Specific qualifications are not necessarily required and we welcome applicants with lived experience. A genuine interest in learning about our charity and our services within the local community is essential.

These trustees will help to form a new board dedicated to supporting the charity and contributing to the effective and quality governance of Trust House. You will play an active role in developing the strategic direction of the charity and provide guidance to ensure the charity continues to support anyone affected by rape or sexual abuse in the Thames Valley area.
