Grant Prospecting Coordinator (Excel and Research)

About the role
We are looking for a friendly, organised, and committed volunteer to support our Fundraising Team by prospecting grant opportunities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys research, reading funder guidelines, and working with data.
You will take the lead in helping us make smart use of our time by identifying which grants in our existing database are the best match for our work and where we are most likely to be eligible.
This is a prospecting management role only. You will not be asked to write grant applications.
What you will do
- Work through a complex Excel-based grants database and assess opportunities against our charity’s aims and activities
- Read funder criteria, eligibility rules, and guidance notes to decide whether a grant is a good fit and discuss it with our Fundraising Coordinator.
- Shortlist suitable grants and record your findings clearly in the spreadsheet (notes, deadlines, key requirements)
- Flag any missing information and help keep the grants Pipeline tidy and consistent
- Share weekly or fortnightly updates with the Fundraising Team
- Guide the Fundraising Team to understand which opportunities must be prioritised
What we are looking for
Essential
- Excellent Excel skills (confident using filters, sorting, data validation, working and finding data in structured and complex spreadsheets)
- Strong attention to detail and an analytical mindset
- Enjoys research and reading specifications carefully
- Able to make clear, evidence-based judgements about eligibility and fit
- Reliable and able to commit 3 to 4 hours per week on an ongoing basis
- Good written communication for concise spreadsheet notes and updates

Eligibility

About the role
We are looking for an experienced and highly professional CSR and Corporate Engagement Coordinator to help us build meaningful relationships with companies that share our values.
This role is ideal for someone who understands corporate social responsibility and corporate partnerships, and who enjoys creating a clear plan, prospecting the right organisations, and making warm, well-targeted approaches that lead to long-term supporters.
What you will do
- Create a simple, realistic CSR and corporate engagement plan aligned to our charity’s priorities
- Research and prospect companies that are a strong fit (values, location, ESG and CSR themes, staff networks, giving mechanisms)
- Identify the best route in (decision makers, community teams, CSR leads, foundations, staff networks)
- Prepare outreach messages and partnership propositions (for example: sponsorship, staff fundraising, payroll giving, match funding, volunteering, in-kind support)
- Working with our Operational Director, you will make and manage initial approaches, follow-ups, and relationship building in a professional way
- Keep clear records of activity, contacts, and next steps in a tracker
- Work with the Operational Director to shape partnership offers and ensure a consistent voice and messaging

- Strong experience in CSR, corporate partnerships, business development, or corporate fundraising
- Confident in creating and delivering a prospecting and engagement plan

We're looking for 2-3 detail-oriented and strategic Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) Specialist Volunteers to help optimise our online presence and ensure our campaigns and content reach the communities that need them most and increase the charity’s search engine results rankings. The SEO Specialist Volunteers will play a key role in enhancing the visibility and searchability of Burning Nights CRPS Support’s website and digital content.
The SEO Specialist Volunteers will be volunteering within the Communications & Marketing Team to implement SEO best practices, conduct keyword research, improve site structure, and analyse web performance – all to ensure our content reaches a broader audience and amplifies the voice of our charity’s supporters online.
Key Tasks and Objectives
- Competitor and Keyword Research: Conduct keyword research to inform website content and campaign strategies.
- On-page optimisation: Optimise existing content for improved search engine ranking (meta tags, meta descriptions, headers, alt text, etc.)
- Monitor and analyse SEO performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEMrush.
- Technical SEO Implementation: Identify technical SEO issues and collaborate with content teams to resolve them.
- Backlink and Off-Page SEO: Assist in developing backlink strategies and improving domain authority.
- Support the content team in creating SEO-optimised articles and pages.
- Provide monthly reports on SEO performance and suggest improvements.

Perinatal Support Volunteers provide one-to-one support to parents during pregnancy and up to nine months after the birth. These parents either have mental health issues or are at risk of developing them.
Perinatal Support Volunteers visit these families once a week (usually weekdays during working hours) for 2-3 hours, providing emotional support and practical help in the family’s home or local community. Support is aimed at empowering parents and building resilience beyond the support period.
