 An Independent Visitor is a positive adult role model who provides support and friendship to a young person in care. You will enjoy fun activities together which will give the young person unforgettable memories and experiences. Your consistent friendship will help the young person raise their aspirations, learn new skills, build self-esteem, confidence, and resilience.

We are looking for fun, reliable, and enthusiastic volunteers from all different cultures, backgrounds, and experiences. You do not need any formal qualifications to become a volunteer, but it is helpful if you have some knowledge and practical experience of involvement with children and young people.

Children and young people who are looked after need an adult who has time to spend with them, take them on activities and be someone they can talk to and trust. You can fit your visits in around your own time and work commitments. We only ask that you can commit to a few hours once per month for a minimum of 2 years. 

We urgently require volunteers as an Independent Visitor for children and young people in care. As a volunteer you will:

• Have fun, take young people on outings and maybe share a hobby, sport or interest.

Emerge Worldwide is seeking a strategic and creative Social Media Lead to lead — and actively deliver — our digital communications.

This role is both strategic and practical. You will design content, publish content, host online discussions and actively manage platforms.

You will lead and set clear strategy, direction and plans for Emerge Worldwide’s Social Media communications, create engaging content, supervise the Team and encourage community mobilisation.

You will work closely with the Communications Deprtamnet and colloborate with the Education, Events & Fundraising and Policy departments and external stakeholders.

Strategy & Direction

• Develop and implement the Social Media & Digital Strategy aligned to campaigns and organisational priorities.
• Set KPIs and growth targets.
• Lead monthly planning meetings and oversee content calendars.
• Manage and support Social Media Volunteers, including performance management / feedback meetings.
• Content Creation, Design & Publishing

Design, create and publish high-quality digital content across platforms.

• Manage day-to-day posting and scheduling.
• Create graphics, reels, videos, carousels, and campaign visuals.
• Capture live content from events where required.
• Ensure all content aligns with brand standards.
• Language, Messaging & Communications Collaboration

Work closely with the Communications Department to ensure:

• Trauma-informed and safeguarding-aware language
• Consistent tone of voice

Alignment with policy and campaign messaging

• Review and refine messaging before publication where necessary.
• Ensure sensitive topics are handled ethically and responsibly and all information meets safeguarding, confidentiality and GDPR standards.
• Cross-Department Collaboration

Collaborate with all Emerge Worldwide departments

• Translate departmental work into engaging digital content.
• Support campaign launches and digital activations.

Analytics & Growth

• Monitor analytics and produce monthly performance reports and feed into quarterly impact reports.
• Optimise content based on insights.
• Grow reach, engagement and supporter conversion.

What are we looking for?

• Experience managing and actively posting across social media platforms.
• Strong graphic design capability (Canva or equivalent).
• Experience creating and editing short-form video content.

What difference will you make?
The Social Media Lead plays a strategic and safeguarding-critical role in advancing Emerge Worldwide’s mission to prevent grooming, sexual exploitation and sex trafficking.

This role is not simply about posting content. It is about shaping narrative, increasing prevention, strengthening partnerships and ensuring that women and girls encounter accurate, trauma-informed information in digital spaces.

Through a clear digital strategy and consistent messaging, the Social Media Lead strengthens Emerge Worldwide’s credibility and national voice. A strong online presence builds trust with survivors, professionals, schools, corporates and policymakers — opening doors for training, partnerships and funding that directly support prevention and empowerment initiatives.

Consistent, high-quality posting has preventative impact. Educational content about red flags, online grooming, coercive control and intersectional vulnerabilities can help young people recognise harmful behaviour earlier. Parents, carers and teachers may identify warning signs sooner. Increased awareness can interrupt exploitation before it escalates.

Collaboration with the Communications Department ensures language is trauma-informed and safeguarding-aware. Sensitive issues are handled ethically, reducing the risk of re-traumatisation and creating a digital environment where survivors feel seen, respected and safe.

Cross-department collaboration ensures campaigns, policy work, education programmes and fundraising initiatives are amplified effectively. This leads to increased attendance at training, stronger campaign mobilisation, greater public engagement and enhanced funding — all of which contribute to tangible protection and support for vulnerable girls and young women.

By analysing performance data, the Social Media Lead helps Emerge Worldwide reach high-risk demographics more effectively. Data-informed decisions improve targeting, engagement and resource allocation, ensuring messaging reaches those most vulnerable.

In summary, the outcomes of this role contribute directly to early identification, public education, cultural awareness and increased access to prevention services. The Social Media Lead helps transform awareness into action — strengthening Emerge Worldwide’s impact in advocating for women and girls against grooming, sexual exploitation and sex trafficking.

St John is one of the largest youth organisations in the country and many of our young volunteers go onto careers in health and/or social care.

Being a youth volunteer helps young people develop skills and confidence that go on to help them with further education and university applications. To do this we need dedicated and enthusiastic youth helpers. Our wellbeing café runs once a month and provides a space for people to grab a brew, a snack and take part in some creative tasks, games and activities, as well as connecting with others.

We're looking for friendly volunteers who can welcome people to the wellbeing café, get them set up and settled in. Volunteers will help people feel comfortable, support them in any activities they would like to do and provide friendly chat.

We'd like someone that's passionate, friendly and willing to get stuck in. You just need to be able to talk to others. listen and be a friendly face for those attending.

Our Gardener Volunteers support our homes by helping to maintain their outdoor spaces through weeding, pruning and planting, so that the people we support can enjoy spending time in a beautiful environment.

• Create planters

• Provide general maintenance of our gardens

• Watering, planting, weeding and pruning

• Maintaining flower beds

• Creating/improving/maintaining our sensory garden spaces

• Friendly and approachable.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a team delivering vital support to vulnerable women, children and young people in East Ayrshire. You do not need to know everything there is to know about domestic abuse, but they do need to know that you are reliable and committed to our principles and values.

The position is voluntary, but East Ayrshire Women’s Aid will provide you with training and support and pay your expenses. The Board meets at least six times a year, usually on Saturday mornings.

Social Media/Marketing Manager

Challenge Adventure Group (“CAG” for short and the operating name of CAG Trust) is a voluntary youth organisation for Knowle, Dorridge and beyond aimed at boys aged 10 and above.

As our name suggests, we provide challenging, adventurous and fun activities and the D of E Award for young people in their leisure time. Taking part in fun experiential activities enables members to develop their physical and mental skills and capacities and reach their full potential of becoming positive, active and happy citizens.

Summary

CAG was formed in 2009 and became a charity, CAG Trust, in 2019. We are looking for someone to help us publicise CAG and what we do to build a consistent positive message about young people and Challenge Adventure Group and, ultimately, build a demand to be a part of CAG.

These messages and stories will be delivered through a variety of media.  Additionally, we want to engage our current and potential audiences by creating and developing a compelling social media strategy and content.  We want to get the CAG name and story out into the community to build long lasting and meaningful relationships with local organisations, community groups and other relevant parties and to establish CAG as a strong and vibrant participant of local life.

Description

We are looking for an experienced offline and online/social media marketer to work with us to maximise our presence in order to attract new members and volunteers and to advertise CAG to its full potential.

We would like you to:

• Develop and on and offline marketing strategy.
• Prepare and deliver on and offline marketing material and stories.
• Perform a social media audit: Assess the current state of our social media pages and make recommendations on how we might improve our presence and engagement and where we might focus our efforts.
• Help us develop and/or execute a social media campaign around, in the first instance, recruiting new members.
• Provide guidance/strategy on how we can manage our social media on an ongoing basis e.g. using a centralised tool, creating a content calendar, identifying easy and free graphic tools and images.
• Produce fresh and engaging content for our social media channels.
• Prepare graphics for sharing across channels.
• Engage with our followers and encourage interaction.
• Manage and maintain social media channels on a regular basis.
• Work with our Group Leader who will provide our existing brand/style guidelines and share the CAG ethos.

We are looking for a volunteer who has experience of:

• Writing and editing marketing content for social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok / across all platforms.
• Building strategies to increase social media following and build fundraising or awareness campaigns.
• Developing a coherent brand voice for social media, from content creation to community interactions.
• Using and setting up tools such as Hootsuite, Social Sprout, Canva, etc.
• Creating content calendars to help plan social media activity.
• Marketing specific events such as New Member Evenings and Duke of Edinburgh Introductory Presentations.

Ideally you should have/be:

• A flexible team player.
• A basic understanding of what CAG stands for and its place in the local community.
• A passion for the work of CAG and the importance of it to its members and volunteers.
• Experience of digital: social media marketing.
• Ability to engage and build a rapport with a wide range of people and organisations including local schools.
• Ability to build and maintain good working relationships.
• A car driver or have ability to travel to attend events and meetings.
• The post holder must be able to provide a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Check, either a current or new application that can be made through CAG.

Your input is key to the running of CAG as well as securing its future.  You will shape how we present ourselves to our service users, stakeholders, funders and general public. With your help we will be able to continue to grow our membership through building campaigns to recruit new members who will be able to take advantage of all the challenging adventures we offer and help make the lives of these young people richer and more positive. You will build on the social media campaign we already have in place to help us raise awareness in the local community of what we do and why we do it and ensure that we become a key player in our community as a whole.

About the location - Where will you be working?

The volunteer will work from home will be required to attend meetings within the Solihull area.

Travel Limit

This role is partly remote but ideally the candidate should be available for face to face Committee meetings and attending CAG events and other meetings.

When will you be working?

• Flexible so during office hours if necessary for certain events but evenings if preferred.
• You would need to be available to attend Committee meetings which normally take place in the evening.
• Occasional weekends to attend recruitment/marketing events.

The Befriender 'In Home' Volunteer will play an important role by providing companionship to someone we support at our supported living service by spending time with them, visiting them in the home and doing activities they enjoy. Registered as The Royal School for the Blind, SeeAbility is one of the oldest disability charities in the UK. This year we are celebrating our 225th anniversary, having pioneered specialist support across multiple generations since 1799!

We specialise in supporting people who have learning disabilities, autism, complex needs, who may also have sight loss. Our support ranges from providing person-centred support across our many supported-living and residential care provisions. Furthermore, we provide specialist eye-care services to children and adults alike and assists people to find paid employment for the very first time.
