Are you passionate about diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging and making a difference in the lives of children, young people and families facing cancer? We want more people to understand and connect with our work, and we’re looking for two volunteers to join the team.
By supporting us to develop internal engagement events that platform key inclusion and diversity awareness topics, you'll play a crucial role in building knowledge and confidence for the whole workforce, and support for our mission to fight childhood cancer. Your passion, lived experience, and strong organisation skills will make a lasting impact on the lives of those we serve.
What you’ll be doing:
• Plan and deliver 3–4 virtual events each year – these could include speaker panels, lived experience sessions, or spotlight events on intersectionality.
• Create or source 3–5 blogs or stories annually that share diverse perspectives and real lived experiences. • Work closely with our staff networks and central DEIB team to make sure everything we do is aligned and makes an impact.
• Support communications and engagement by helping with intranet features, social posts, and short video snippets that bring our DEIB work to life.
• Take part in a short annual “pulse check” survey to help us understand community needs and gather feedback.
What skills or experience you’ll need :

• Strong communication skills and ability to engage others.
• Willingness to share ideas and collaborate across teams.

Our Cat Fosterers play a vital role by providing a temporary, loving home for cats that are in the care of the RSPCA.
Why we want you
We are the RSPCA South Bucks Branch and it's our vision to live in a world where all animals are respected and treated with compassion. Our volunteer fosterers are incredible, they play an essential role in helping us carry out our important animal welfare work by caring for cats and enabling them to be rehomed.
You could be fostering an animal for just a few weeks, or it could be a longer term placement for several months and in a few cases it can be longer.
What you will be doing
Providing care and suitable housing in a safe environment for cats while they are in foster care in accordance with Society policies and guidelines.
Feeding, watering, providing enrichment, socialising and grooming cats (as appropriate).
Liaising with your Cat Co-ordinator regularly. For cats ready for rehoming: sharing photos and videos to the cat coordinator to enable them to raise awareness and rehoming.
If the animal has specific needs you will be supported by your local team of fosterers to enable you to provide the care needed.
Offering a separate room to keep the cat/s in and separate from your own animals.
Some cats may have had surgery and will need a period of cage rest. This will be provided.
Your family/household must be fully supportive (and checked/confirmed that there are no cat allergies within the household).
All members of the household should discuss with their GP whether a tetanus vaccination is required, and make a decision based on this.
Transporting your foster cat safely for vet appointments.
Allowing a potential adopter to enter your home to view a cat up for adoption after they have been assessed by the cat co-ordinator, a volunteer can support you in this.
Completing the local branch paperwork relating to the cats in your care.
The skills you need
Volunteers must be aged 18 or over.
Previous experience of fostering would be beneficial, and experience caring for cats is essential.
If you have existing cats, they must be spayed/neutered and vaccinated.
If in rented accommodation, permission from the landlord must be obtained.
You must live in South Buckinghamshire or close to Chesham.
Volunteers must complete an online induction, you will need to have basic IT skills and access to a PC or laptop, or have someone who can help you carry out the induction.

Join our team to help make sure children, young people and vulnerable adults are always protected and can participate fully in the life of the church.
The Team Safeguarding Officer plays a vital role in building a strong safeguarding culture across our 16 churches. They are the key link between the central Safeguarding Team, local clergy and churches concerning safeguarding matters. They will have an overview of all church activities involving children, young people and vulnerable adults, working closely with Parish Safeguarding Officers to implement safeguarding policy.
The key aspects of the role are:
• Safeguarding point of contact: Respond well to safeguarding concerns or disclosures and, with the Team Rector or Team Vicars as appropriate, refer them to the Diocesan Safeguarding Team and relevant statutory agencies.
• DBS and training oversight: Ensure staff and volunteers have up-to-date DBS checks and safeguarding training recorded and monitored within the Safeguarding Hub.
• Promote good practice: Uphold Church of England safeguarding policies and guidance
• Trustee engagement: Keep the Team Council and PCC (Parochial Church Council) members informed about safeguarding developments and risks.
• Compliance and safer recruitment: Use online tools such as Safeguarding Hubs and Dashboards to support compliance.
The role of the Team Safeguarding Officer does not need to be fulfilled by one individual and instead could be shared, with one person taking an outward facing lead (e.g. named point of contact) and another focussing on administrative functions (e.g. managing DBS and training)
About You
We are looking for one or more people who can fulfil some or all of these aspects:
• Approachable and trustworthy, able to listen and respond sensitively to concerns.
• Organised and detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate records.
• Committed to safeguarding and willing to champion best practice across the parish.

By leading fundraising projects that explore how diverse professionals (architects, ecologists, web developers, community researchers etc.) collaborate to shape community infrastructure, volunteers will directly contribute to the development of a park that truly reflects the needs and desires of the local community.
Without funding we won’t be able to make it happen. Your input will help us craft experiences that inspire, educate, and engage our service users, stakeholders, funders, and the general public, ultimately driving support for the park's mission and ensuring its long-term sustainability. So you will be directly contributing to the creation of a new biodiverse community-owned park with free access natural swimming ponds.

Monitoring, evaluation and learning coordinators wanted to help East London Waterworks Park deliver its environmental learning goals.
East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces.
We are looking for a volunteer to track the impact of our educational initiatives, gather data, and support continuous improvement in our learning programs. This role ensures that our learning activities are effective and contribute meaningfully to ELWP’s overarching goals.
This role would include:
- Developing measures of success of existing environmental education initiatives
- Collecting and analyzing feedback from programme participants
- Recommending improvements based on data insights

The Learning Circle currently meets monthly on a Wednesday evening at 8pm for an hour on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely.
We're looking for people to lead on these projects and facilitate the direction of the learning working group.
Individuals with experience in research, programme evaluation, data analysis, or education assessment are encouraged to apply. Attention to detail and an interest in measuring impact will be key strengths in this role. Our roles are quite flexible. We hope that people bring radical imagination, peace with nature, and courageous inclusiveness to the role.
Your support will help young people and learners improve their environmental knowledge of design and research as well as contributing to our community-owned park. This will in turn provide a sense of stewardship over the land once the park is created and student's ideas have been built into the park. Creating learning projects with educational institutions will also help our charity with the strategy to buy the land through showing the value of our environmental education programme before we create the park.

We are seeking experienced teachers and educational facilitators to lead workshops and deliver engaging environmental education sessions to children and young people. Sessions may take place at schools or around the perimeter of the site we want to transform into East London Waterworks Park.
