The Consortium for the Accreditation of Sonographic Education (CASE) is a collaboration of professional bodies and scientific societies established to set and uphold standards of training and education in clinical ultrasound (sonography) in the UK. This is achieved through accreditation of sonographic courses.  CASE works closely with universities and other higher-education institutions to ensure the highest standards are met.

CASE is a not-for-profit organisation which relies on volunteers to commit their time to ensure the students who graduate from our accredited courses do so with the best in education, mentor support and clinical competency and thus preparing the sonographic workforce of the future.

In over 20 years of operation, the reputation of CASE accreditation as the accepted standard for sonographic education in the UK has grown and become accepted across the NHS and independent sector healthcare providers. In the busy and pressurised context of healthcare provision and diagnosis, CASE accreditation provides the reassurance that a sonographer has been trained to a high standard.

The group of member organisations that provide strategic oversight has operated as a relatively informal collaboration but is now looking to become a legally constituted company.

About the role

CASE is seeking to appoint a part time Independent Chair to provide supportive leadership for the Member Organisations Group. 

The Chair of CASE will:

• Chair the Case Member Organisations’ Board which meets virtually on a quarterly basis, allocating additional time for meeting preparation and follow up. Administrative support is provided by the BMUS.
• Build relationships with Sonography policy leaders within the member organisations and with their representatives that make up the CASE committee, from which the programme of accreditation activity and the setting of standards is conducted. This would usually be via the Committee chair.
• Take part with Board members in increasing the influence of CASE at health policy level across the UK
• Ensure that the Board develops a clear strategy for incorporation, financial sustainability and continuing growth. 
• Work with the CASE Committee Chair to ensure direct communication channels between the strategic and operational arms of CASE are maintained;
• Ensure that the MOs adhere to the terms of reference as set out in the Consortium’s Memorandum of Agreement;
• Act as advisor for the CASE Coordinator regarding actions and issues pertinent to the MOs;
• Provide an independent perspective to ensure the accuracy and quality of strategic CASE documentation including the business strategy, risk register, and policy documents;
• Collaborate with the CASE Co-ordinator to ensure an annual report is produced, providing a record of activity across the CASE year.

Term of Office

The Chair is appointed for a 2-year term.  An extension to the term of office is possible by mutual agreement between the individual and the member organisations.

Expected Time Commitment

Variable, but up to 4 days per year for meetings plus up to 4 days for dealing with documentation, emails and actions.

This is a volunteer role, but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.

The role

As our Programmes Trustee, you will bring senior international development or humanitarian programmes expertise to our Board, helping to strengthen the quality, scale and impact of HHC's work across nine countries. Working closely with our Chair, CEO and Director of Global Programmes, you will contribute to our ambitious 2030 goal by:

• Programmes leadership — drawing on your senior experience to provide strategic oversight and constructive challenge on HHC's programme delivery, quality assurance and evidence base, helping ensure our work delivers real and lasting change for children and families.
• Systems change — advising the Board and Executive on how to drive and sustain national-level care reform across the diverse contexts in which HHC operates, including fragile and conflict-affected settings.
• Humanitarian financing — supporting HHC's ambitions to transform how the humanitarian sector finances work addressing children in orphanages and those at risk of family separation, drawing on your understanding of macro-level financing mechanisms and how they can be influenced.
• Safeguarding and risk — contributing to the Board's oversight of the risk, regulatory and safeguarding context for an international organisation working directly with vulnerable children and families.

Who we are looking for

You will bring senior leadership experience in a programmes function within an NGO, multilateral organisation, government body or major funder — particularly in work with marginalised children, families and communities. Beyond that, we are looking for someone who brings:

• A track record of overseeing or leading programmes at scale across multiple countries or regions, including in lower income, middle income or fragile and conflict-affected settings
• Extensive experience of programme strategy, quality assurance, monitoring, evaluation and learning, and of using evidence to drive decision-making
• A sound understanding of the international development and humanitarian sector, including donor landscapes and the operating environment for international NGOs
• Experience of working in partnership with local government and other stakeholders to bring about systems change

Time commitment

• An annual two-day awayday, which may take place in one of our countries of operation
• Additional time for preparation, ad hoc queries and induction in your first year

About the Role

As a Volunteer, you will support with several aspects of the Childhood First Partnership. This will include the administration of the Community of Practice, which will launch to age dispute practitioners in late 2026. You will also support with communications for the Partnership, such as newsletters. Finally, you will be involved with the activities of the Youth Support Collective, such as supporting with co-production projects and facilitating ice-breaker activities in sessions if you wish.

You will work under the supervision of the Childhood First Partnership Officer, and also the Partnership Manager. This volunteering role would suit someone who has an interest in working with young people, learning about the asylum system, and developing workplace and administrative skills.

Hours: 4 hours per week - any day, Monday to Friday.

How we support our Volunteers

Volunteers are valued members of our teams, and we provide them with support and development opportunities. Volunteers will receive regular planned support sessions with their supervisors.

Refugee Council allows volunteers to attend our professional training courses when needed for the role, free of charge. Training will be discussed with you during support sessions with your supervisor.

Volunteers will be given an IT account, a Refugee Council email address, access to our Hub and online courses whilst volunteering with us. Equipment will be provided as and when needed for the role.

Through sponsorship from the Marsh Charitable Trust, Refugee Council also provides volunteers with the opportunity to design and set-up a new service for new clients. There will be an opportunity to discuss this with your supervisor.

Volunteer roles are unpaid, but we will reimburse volunteers for lunch and travel costs according to our expense policy. Unfortunately, our limited budget only allows for local travelling costs.

Our Employability and Progression Mentors provide one-to-one support, guidance, encouragement, and inspiration to a young person who has completed a King’s Trust Programme. As an Employability and Progression Mentor, you will offer knowledge, experience, and support to young people as they develop the skills, confidence and motivation to succeed - either in education or further training, through work experience, volunteering or by securing a job of their choice.

Mentors will meet on a regular basis with a young person and help them identify and achieve goals. You will offer guidance, support and encouragement and a safe space for a young person to discuss the skills they need to develop and how to do this. You will provide guidance on employability and job search issues, including supporting with CV writing and interview practice. You will provide active support between sessions as agreed, such as reviewing documentation, email responses, signposting where to find useful resources, networking connections; etc… And you will share relevant learning and useful resources with other volunteers and Trust colleagues that may benefit young people and our work.

Ideally an Employability and Progression Mentor will commit to around four to six hours per month for a minimum of 3-6 months for each mentee with whom they are matched. Relevant experience can be developed during the role but ideally a volunteer will have experience with building trust with young people from a range of backgrounds, mentoring skills, be a good communicator, be able to give and receive constructive corrective feedback and have experience of job searches, application processes and interview experiences.

We are specifically recruiting new mentors to meet a demand for in-work support and job-searching for roles in the Health and Social Care sector. Experience in this sector is desirable but not essential, with a focus on general coaching and employment support being the main priority for volunteers in this position. The majority of these mentoring connections will be fostered online, via digital meetings and email, with limited opportunities for face-to-face connections available depending on location and preference of mentees.

Babylon Migrants Project, currently a CIC, is embarking on an exciting journey to become a registered charity. We’re looking for a Finance Advisor to support us through this important transition period, eventually becoming our charity Treasurer. 

Babylon Migrants Project is a grassroots arts organisation led by and for young people from refugee, asylum-seeking and migrant backgrounds. We deliver creative and community-building activities that support displaced young people to build creative skills, confidence and support networks as they navigate life in the UK.

We work with young people aged 16–30 who are facing isolation, systemic barriers and a lack of safe and relaxed spaces. Our work takes place across our two hubs in London and Stoke-on-Trent, where participants take part in creative workshops led by expert facilitators, supported by a welcoming team of staff and volunteers.

Our three key aims are:

• Reducing social isolation amongst young people from refugee and asylum-seeking backgrounds
• Growing lived experienced leadership across the arts and refugee sectors
• Shaping more informed and human conversations about migration

We are in the process of registering as a charity, which will hopefully unlock vital funding and help us to grow as an organisation, ultimately supporting more young people in need. We are looking for a finance expert who, in addition to contributing generally advisory board (and subsequently, trustee board meetings), can support our ambition by:

What you will be doing

• Facilitating weekly peer support groups, covering topics related to mental health.
• To encourage participation and to provide focus and guidance for discussions within the group

The Business Development Lead will work closely with the CEO and Business Development Trustee to build a sustainable pipeline of corporate partners.

The role will focus on developing relationships that can generate:

• CSR and corporate sponsorship;
• multi-year funding partnerships;
• employee fundraising;
• volunteer mentors;
• skills-based volunteering;
• corporate introductions and wider strategic support.

The aim is not simply to generate one-off donations, but to build long-term corporate relationships that combine funding, employee engagement and measurable social impact.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a targeted pipeline of banks, asset managers, insurers, fintech companies and other financial-services organisations.
• Identify relevant CSR, ESG, social-impact, community-investment and employee-engagement opportunities.
• Research decision-makers and identify the strongest routes into prospective partners.
• Develop tailored corporate partnership propositions.
• Secure introductory meetings and manage follow-up.
• Work with the CEO and Trustee to prepare pitches, proposals and presentations.
• Build sponsorship propositions around:
  • student mentoring;
  • school cohorts;
  • programme delivery;
  • technology;
  • employability and careers;
  • and wider organisational growth.
• Develop corporate volunteer-mentor opportunities that are attractive and practical for financial-sector employees.
• Convert existing networks and introductions into structured partnership discussions.
• Maintain a clear partnership pipeline showing:

  • contacts;
  • stage;
  • potential value;
  • next action;
  • and probability.
• Support stewardship and renewal of existing corporate partners.
• Explore employee fundraising, matched giving and corporate campaigns.

Key priorities in the first 6 months

• Map priority banking and financial-services organisations.
• Build a qualified corporate prospect list.
• Develop a clear One Degree corporate partnership proposition.
• Progress renewal and extension opportunities with existing corporate supporters.
• Secure new meetings with senior CSR, ESG, HR, volunteering, community-investment and foundation leads.
• Develop a stronger pipeline of prospective corporate sponsors.
• Increase the number of suitable corporate volunteer mentors.
• Establish a structured approach to partnership reporting and stewardship.
• Leading to: Secured sponsorship of 50 x One Degree students every 6 months

Person specification

We are looking for someone who ideally has:

• experience in business development, partnerships, fundraising, CSR or corporate engagement;
• strong knowledge of banking, financial services or professional services;
• existing corporate networks or confidence building relationships with senior decision-makers;
• experience developing and progressing a sales or fundraising pipeline;
• excellent written and verbal communication;
• strong presentation and relationship-management skills;
• confidence making direct approaches and asking for meetings, introductions and support;
• ability to work independently with limited monthly time;
• a commercial mindset combined with an understanding of charitable impact.

Experience working directly within banking or financial services would be particularly valuable.

Success measures

Success would be assessed through:

• quality and value of the corporate pipeline;
• number of qualified corporate meetings;
• new corporate sponsorship secured;
• existing partnerships renewed or expanded;
• number of volunteer mentors sourced through corporate partners;
