Artemis was founded in 2007 and has been delivering high-quality performing arts education in Bracknell ever since.
The charity is now operating at scale and is on track to achieve a turnover of £1 million in 2026, delivering theatre, dance and cheer provision alongside education and wellbeing outcomes for children, young people and adults. We work with around 600 people a week through classes, workshops and outreach.
This all means our Board of trustees is growing, and we are looking for a Trustee with experience of charity and theatre finance.
Please share a CV and cover letter, to be reviewed by our Co-chairs, who will reach out to shortlisted applicants.
Interviews will be online.
The first stage interview will be with a board member and either the CEO or Executive Director (who are also Artemis' founders).

LISAL (Lancaster Independent School for Alternative Learning) seeks a Quality of Education Trustee with a passion for alternative education and leadership experience.
You join our committed Board of Trustees to help ensure that we continue to provide the highest quality of child-centred education at our small independent primary school in Lancaster (formerly Lancaster Steiner School). Here, children discover the joy of learning and experience the richness of childhood in unhurried, thorough, and creative environment, laying foundations for a lifelong love of learning.
We strive to develop free thinking, confident, socially responsible individuals who are able to embrace their community, sustain their livelihoods and to positively shape the world. To realise this vision, we draw upon the innovative approach and world-wide experience of Steiner Waldorf education. Our school is registered with the Steiner Waldorf Schools Federation and received a Good rating in our most recent Ofsted inspection (2023).
As Quality of Education Trustee, you will provide strategic oversight to ensure that the school follows the highest academic standards. This will involve visits to the school to meet our teaching and leadership team, and observe our teaching methods, alongside participation in occasional online Trustee meetings.
More specifically, you will:
- Evaluate curriculum quality, teaching methods, and learning outcomes, and signpost any scope for improvement.
- Discuss performance and progress with our senior leadership team (SLT) and ensure that the leadership and management is effective.
- Assure inclusion by affirming that the educational vision supports all students, including those with special educational needs.
- Undertake school visits in which you will engage with staff and pupils to verify internal data.
Who we are looking for
Ideally you will have experience of educational leadership, quality assurance, school improvement, and/or curriculum development, preferably in an alternative setting, including a Steiner-Waldorf school. You will share our objective to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment in which children can flourish. Previous trustee or governance experience is welcome but is not essential.
This is a voluntary, strategic and non-executive role. You will work constructively with the Board of Trustees via regular (termly) online committee meetings, together with at least one school visit per academic year. We will cover any reasonable expenses incurred.
If you are passionate about excellent alternative education and the Waldorf curriculum and want to use your experience to help ensure every pupil receives the quality of education they deserve, we would be delighted to hear from you.
What the school offers its staff
We offer our Trustees the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the strategic educational direction and continued development of our school, which is the only Steiner-Waldorf school in the region.
As a Trustee, you will:
- Make a direct contribution to improving educational outcomes for our children
- Join a committed and supportive Board with a strong focus on strategic leadership, challenge and continuous improvement.
- Work alongside experienced education leaders and fellow trustees with a diverse range of professional expertise.
- Receive a comprehensive induction and ongoing training and development to support you in your governance role.
- Have opportunities to visit the school, meet leaders and staff, and see first-hand the impact of the provision.
- Develop your own experience of strategic leadership, governance, alternative/Waldorf education, SEND, and the education sector.
- Contribute your professional expertise to an organisation committed to providing a fully nurturing and enriching educational experience for its pupils.
The trustee role is voluntary, with reasonable expenses reimbursed in accordance with LISAL policy.

Settle is a charity that supports young adults as they leave the care system and move into their first home. We provide intensive one-to-one coaching support, helping young people develop the skills and confidence they need to sustain their tenancies, manage their finances and live independently. Our preventative approach to homelessness helps care-experienced young people build stable foundations and thrive in adulthood.
All our Trustees bring different personal experience and professional expertise to support our work. To make sure we keep young people at the centre of our decision-making, we aim to always have at least two Trustees with care experience.
We are now looking for new Trustees to help us deliver our mission. We are seeking people with experience in one or more of the following areas:
· Policy influencing and/or strategic communications
· Support for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness
· Support for people seeking asylum and refuge
Our aim is to recruit at least two new Trustees, who between them bring experience across all three areas. We don’t expect you to lead an area of work at Settle – that’s the responsibility of the staff team. We are keen to benefit from your advice, insight and understanding of the key issues we’re dealing with.
We are committed to increasing the diversity of our staff and Board team, and we particularly welcome applications from people from minoritised ethnic backgrounds, or with other lived experience of discrimination. We are proud to be a member of the Care Leaver Covenant, and care-experienced applicants who meet the criteria for this role will be guaranteed an interview.
Our vision is a 21st century Britain where no young person is homeless and all young people get a fair chance at doing well.

We are seeking a qualified accountant with strong financial management experience, sound judgement and the ability to explain financial information clearly. Trustees, including a treasurer, are needed for a leading charity helping people with dissociative disorders.
CDS UK (Clinic for Dissociative Studies) is a specialist service offering assessments and treatment for people with dissociative disorders and an independent charitable provider to the NHS.
CDS provides diagnosis, outpatient treatment, clinical supervision, consultancy and training all over the UK. We also participate in research and education, contributing to what we hope is a greater understanding of dissociative disorders.
Dissociative disorders typically arise in response to extreme and repetitive trauma and/or abuse in early childhood. Dissociation can be a survival mechanism and adaptive response to overwhelming and traumatic experiences, enabling an individual to endure life events that no one person could be expected to manage without a severe impact on their wellbeing. Trustees are central to ensuring that CDS provides the best possible help for extremely vulnerable clients.
At CDS, we are committed to a culture of continuous improvement and organisational development, ensuring that our services, people, and governance evolve to meet the needs of those we support. Our work is grounded in our core values of Respect, Choice, Compassion, Openness and Working Together, which shape how we collaborate, make decisions, and deliver impact.
To build a well-balanced and rounded board CDS is looking for trustees, including a treasurer, with expertise in any of the following:
- Accountancy and/or auditing experience
- Financial management and strategy
- Clinical & clinical management experience
- Legal and governance
- Fundraising
- Marketing
- Organisational development
We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive Board that reflects the communities we serve. We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds, particularly those who are currently underrepresented at trustee level, including people from diverse ethnic backgrounds, younger people, disabled people, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those with lived experience relevant to our work.
Closing date 9th October. Interviews will take place via MS Teams w/b 12th October.

We are particularly keen to have Board members from across the political spectrum, from those who are based outside of London and the South East of England and have experience outside of the local climate movement, such as start ups, social enterprises or corporates and other small organisations.
We particularly welcome applications from disabled, Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates or other marginalised groups.
